Chapter 57: Follow His Instagram

After getting back from Radiant Life Hospital, Thalia was throwing fits left and right at home. She was either breaking stuff or making a mess, turning the whole Aurora Mansion upside down.

Sierra spoiled her only daughter way too much; even if Thalia wrecked the place, she wouldn't say a word. And Samuel? He'd been crashing at the office lately, barely showing up at home.

The servants at Aurora Mansion were getting more and more freaked out. They were scared of ticking Thalia off and getting canned.

Just when things were getting super tense, Nolan showed up at the mansion. He dropped the bomb that Michael and Thalia were tying the knot next month.

From that day on, Thalia started acting all lovey-dovey. Michael's Instagram was blowing up with daily posts of them trying on wedding dresses, picking out diamond rings, and snapping wedding pics.

When Anna and Michael were abroad, they hardly saw each other.

To keep tabs on Michael and get the latest scoop, Anna followed all of Michael's social media accounts. Whenever Michael posted something, she'd get the notification right away.

On the day Michael and Thalia announced their wedding date online, Anna was deep into some research papers on her laptop. Her phone was chilling on the coffee table in front of her.

Hearing a notification, Anna was about to grab her phone.

Just then, Charles walked in and pick it up for her. Anna was glued to her laptop screen, reaching out for the phone. But after a few seconds, Charles still hadn't given it to her.

Anna looked up, puzzled. "What's up?"

Charles glanced at the special notification on her screen. He gave Anna a meaningful look. Then, he handed over the phone without a word. With his hands in his pockets, he stood there lazily, watching her reaction.

Anna blinked and took the phone. When she saw the notification, her fingers stiffened a bit. But she quickly turned off the screen.

She tossed the phone aside. Her eyes went back to the laptop screen. Her expression didn't change a bit.

Charles watched her for a while, then sat next to her. "Mr. Tudor's getting hitched next month. Any thoughts, Anya?"

Anna replied, not interested, "I wish them a lifetime of happiness."

Charles raised an eyebrow and suddenly closed her laptop.

Anna turned to look at him.

Charles took the chance to pull her onto his lap. Just as Anna was about to speak, he suddenly asked, "Anya, are you bummed?"

He added, "If you're feeling down, you can lean on me."

Looking into his deep eyes, she answered straight up, "His marriage to Thalia has nothing to do with me."

Charles held her waist, pulling her close. His other hand lingered on her face. "Did you care a lot about Michael before?"

Wasn't this common knowledge in Crystal City? Anna twitched her mouth at his question. "Not anymore," she replied coolly.

Charles leaned in and gave her a light kiss on the lips. He continued, "You still follow Mr. Tudor on Instagram?"

Hearing this, Anna felt a weird sensation in her heart, She felt like his long speech was just to point out her following Michael on Instagram.

Anna stared at him for a few seconds. Charles stayed calm, meeting her gaze.

Five seconds later, Anna said nothing and reached for her phone. Right in front of Charles, she quickly unfollowed Michael on Instagram.

After unfollowing, she glanced at him. Sure enough, she saw the smile in Charles's eyes deepen.

After a while, Charles looked down at the quiet Anna in his arms. His eyes slightly lifted, glancing at the phone beside them. With warm fingers, he pinched her fingertips.

He suddenly spoke. "Anya, I have an Instagram too."

Anna's heart skipped a beat. Charles's voice was low, like he was reminding her. But the hint of hurt in his tone made Anna's breath catch.

She wasn't sure if she heard wrong. How could Charles use such a tone to say something like that?

But the next second, Charles took out his phone, opened the Instagram app, and showed her his account.

His intention was clear.

Helplessly, suppressing a chuckle, she asked him, "Should I follow you?"

Charles's expression instantly brightened. But he still had a look of 'you should've done that ages ago.'

He shoved the phone in front of her, staring at her, silently urging her.

Anna took the phone and followed his Instagram.
