Chapter 77 the Reunion

Neil's place was pretty close to a popular club.

Not long after he drove out, he spotted Anna and Aurora hanging around near the club.

He found a parking spot nearby, rolled down his window, and could just make out their conversation.

Aurora was holding Anna's hand, pouting and whining, "It's all Charles's fault. He shut down the Serenity Lounge. Sure, he's cleaned up his act now, but he used to be surrounded by rumors."

Anna chuckled. "Well, at least your newspaper didn't get shut down. Be happy with that."

Anna checked the time and said, "It's getting late. I'm heading back and you should too."

"Wait, I need to tell you something." Aurora grabbed Anna's wrist. "Anya, there's a class reunion in three days. Let's go together."

Anna looked at her. "I went to school abroad."

Aurora said, "But you were here fifteen years ago. It's a high school reunion. It could be fun. Anya, I don't want to go alone. Please come with me!"

Anna wasn't into reunions, but after Aurora's persistent pleading, Anna gave in."Anya, you can bring a plus one. Want to bring Charles?" Aurora teased.

Anna shot her a look. "Do you want the reunion to turn into a social event?"

Aurora laughed. "Good point."

Little did they know, on the day of the reunion, not only would Charles show up, but Michael and Thalia would be there too.

It was going to be both awkward and exciting.

After Anna left, Neil watched Aurora standing at the club entrance, busy on her phone. He drummed his fingers on the steering wheel, then got out of the car.

Over at the Tudor Group, Nolan walked in with the latest news and said to Michael, "Sir, the chairman of Stewart is in Crystal City. We took a hit in our recent competition with Apex Holdings. Should we reach out to Stewart?"

"Stewart?" Michael frowned. "The chairman rarely comes to Crystal City. What's up with that?"

Nolan was puzzled too. "Not sure, but word is they have some projects in Crystal City and are looking for long-term partners."

Michael thought for a moment and then said, "Set up a meeting with Mr. Stewart."

Nolan nodded and was about to leave when he remembered something Thalia had been bugging him about.

After a brief pause, he said, "Thalia has called several times about the class reunion in three days. She wants you to go with her."

Michael was about to brush it off, but then Nolan added, "It's a high school reunion."

Michael hesitated. "Is Anna going?"

Nolan replied, "Not sure, but Miss Brown will be there, and Dr. Howard might go too."

"Got it," Michael said, closing the file. "Tell Thalia I'll be there in three days."

"And arrange the reunion's at the Seraphic Heights Hotel, which Stewart owns," he added.

Lester's sudden arrival in Crystal City had everyone in the upper circles buzzing.

Since he came under the guise of investment and cooperation, a lot of companies and execs were eager to get in his good graces.

While everyone else was scrambling to meet Lester, he was pacing around the presidential suite at the Seraphic Heights Hotel, feeling just as anxious.

The reason was that he still hadn't managed to see his niece.

Pacing around, Lester looked at his old arms and legs and thought, 'Should I fake a fracture and go to Radiant Life Hospital?'

Just as he was considering it, there was a knock on the door. His assistant came in with some good news. "Mr. Stewart, the Tudor Group wants to hold a big class reunion on the first floor of our hotel in three days."

The assistant handed over a list from Michael's side to Lester.

Anna's name was on it, of course.

As Lester scanned the list, his worries disappeared. "This is perfect."

Seeing Lester's happy expression, the assistant added, "The Tudor Group seems interested in collaborating with us. What do you think."

Before the assistant could finish, Lester put the list aside, his smile fading. "A reunion is a reunion, and business is business."

In other words, there was no collaboration.

If Michael and Anya had stayed together, the Stewart wouldn't have treated the Tudor Group poorly.

If they had gotten married, they would be family, and all of Stewart's resources would be at the Tudor Group's disposal.

But now, Anna had broken up with Michael and married someone else.

Lester thought, 'Helping an enemy instead of Charles? No way.'

He then snorted about this.

After the assistant left, Lester made a call to Austin, telling him about the class reunion in three days.

Over at Regal Retreat, When Charles came out of the bathroom, Anna was lying on the bed, petting the cat.

The cat at home was super clingy, especially fond of Charles and Anna's bed.

Because of this, Charles had scolded the cat several times.

But the cat, knowing it was loved by Anna, completely ignored Charles, who had no authority at home.

Whenever Charles scolded it, the cat would lazily flick its tail.

After he finished scolding, it would sway its hips and lie down nearby.

But when Anna went to the main bedroom at night, the cat would happily follow her.

If Anna sat on the sofa, it would jump on the couch.

If Anna sat by the floor-to-ceiling window, it would jump on the window.

Naturally, when Anna went to bed, it would follow and climb onto the bed.

However, although it climbed onto the bed, the cat was very sensible and well-behaved, always lying in a small corner of the bed.

It stayed in a small corner, avoiding fur on the bedding and making cleanup easy.
