Reports
Kaiden's POV
I walked into my father's quarters. The Alpha was supposed to have retired to his chambers for the night and I was supposed to make my way towards his bedroom chamber quarters.
But that wasn't the case as the Alpha still remained at the pack meeting ground waiting for me.
I could feel that my mind was still partially occupied with the situation involving Lilian and Isabel.
I already knew why father was asking after me.
It was because he needed reports of the mission we had just completed at the dragon's claw territory.
I got to the great doors and my presence was announced, I waited to be acknowledged before the doors were then opened and I entered the meeting ground and saw the gathered pack leaders seated and waiting for me, I forced myself to focus entirely on the matter at hand. This was important.
"Kaiden,"Alpha Arthur, greeted me with a nod. Father's sharp eyes assessed me and I knew the moment he recognized that I was covered in bruises.
"Father," I acknowledged him as I stepped forward after I had bowed my head at the pack elders.
"How did the movement against the vampires at the Dragon's Claw territory go?" he asked me in his tone of all business as I saw that he was trying to not dwell on the fact that I was all bruised.
You know what they say about a parent's love? Right that instant I could feel the Alpha wanted so badly to ask about my bruises and it was taking everything in him to not ask.
Just like it had been for Lilian when we had both crossed paths at the walkway.
I knew that she had noticed my bruises but kept silent about it even though I could see that she itched to know what I had been up to.
I knew this because I could read minds. You could say.
I took a deep breath as I stood there, tall and confident.
"It was successful, Alpha." I began my report." We managed to eliminate all of the vampires. The area is secure for now." I told him.
There was a murmur of approval from the pack leaders around the room.
My father nodded his head. He was probably proud of me but I could see that his expression remained unreadable.
"Good work." The Alpha said. "However, we simply can't afford to be complacent.
I want twice as many men stationed there, at the dragon's claw territory to prevent further attacks. Understood?" He asked me and I nodded my head before I responded.
"Understood, Alpha," I replied to him, my voice was steady as I spoke. "I will ensure the territory is well-guarded." I told him and it was father's turn to nod his head.
"Excellent," my father said. He turned to the pack leaders, who were nodding in agreement as well.
One of the senior leaders, his name was elder Marcus, spoke up.
"Prince Kaiden, I must commend you." He said and I looked at him. "The entire pack leadership of the Blue Moon pack have seen and taken note of the fact that your leadership in this matter has been commendable.
You've shown great skill and determination and that is brilliant. No doubt, the future of the blue moon pack is in good hands.
You will make a fine alpha after your father." He said to me and I felt a surge of pride at his words, but I kept my expression composed though.
"Thank you, Elder Marcus." I said bowing slightly. "I am indeed honored by your praise." I told him as I smiled.
Another leader, Elder Liora, added,
"I must say Kaiden," he said. "Your actions today have proven your dedication to this pack. We are fortunate to have you." He said with a smile on his lips and I beamed with happiness.
I inclined my head respectfully.
"Thank you, Elder Liora. I appreciate your kind words." I told him.
My father looked at me and I could recognize the pride in his voice. He was obviously proud of the kind of good and reputable son he birthed.
Well what can I say? I was proud of myself too.
"Kaiden, do you have anything to say?"
He asked me as the rest of the pack elders watched me with expectation.
I cleared my throat as I nodded my head and stepped forward slightly.
"I do. I want to make it clear that my primary concern is serving this pack."
I began while they all watched me nodding their heads. " Everything I do is for the Blue Moon pack's strength and stability.
My only goal is to ensure we stand tall and elegant among other packs." I told them. And I meant every word that I said.
I was going to make sure that the Blue Moon pack remained the best werewolf pack in the entire province. I was going to make sure of that.
There was a brief moment of silence, then more murmurs of approval and I instinctively went on.
"I will always and all the time do my best to protect and bring elevation to our pack." I said further. "We have a proud history, and I intend to honor that legacy with everything I have." I told the pack leaders.
The pack leaders nodded their heads respectively, I could see that they were indeed satisfied with my response.
My father gave me a rare smile, so much pride was evident in his eyes.
"Well said, Kaiden." Father told me.
"Thank you, Father," I said, feeling a swell of emotion at his approval. "I will ensure the additional men are stationed at Dragon's Claw territory immediately." I said and bowed my head.
"Good," he replied. "You do that. You are dismissed." He told me and I turned to leave, but Elder Marcus stopped me.
"Kaiden, one more thing." He said and I halted on my steps as I turned to him.
"Yes, Elder Marcus?" He said to me.
"Keep an eye on Lilian," he said in a serious tone. "She has potential, but she also poses some sort of risk if not managed properly." He warned and I eyed him.
"I must thank you for your advice." I nodded my head at him and left the pack meeting ground.
