The making of something new

Lilian's POV

It was all happening so fast, the events that led to the making of the alpha, I mean the official making of the Alpha in the presence of the pack members.

And by extension, the making of the new Luna and Beta.


We were all summoned to the pack meeting ground to commence the ceremony officially.

I watched Kaiden get onto the podium of the pack meeting ground and my heart couldn't grow any larger at the sight of my man.

I watched him go and stand beside the pack Shaman who was facing the pack members.



The pack Shaman turned and backed away from the pack and from Kaiden and I saw the way she began her incantations.


She raised up her hand, stretching them straight into the air as she began to speak so incoherently to the skies. Her eyes were open and looking towards the sky.


Every one of the pack members was eagerly watching her.


We were all anticipating the word from the moon goddess. A sign that she was approved of the new Alpha.


I watched while I prayed so desperately. I prayed that she accepted Kaiden as the Alpha of the Blue Moon pack.



While we waited, I glanced at Kaiden. He looked cool and collected on the outside but I knew that he was anything but that.


The thing with Kaiden was that he usually appeared to be strong, fierce and fearless but he wasn't all that. At least not all the time.

Kaiden was as vulnerable as everyone else, he just didn't show it all the time.


I stood beside Kaiden's beta, whom I knew was going to make a good partner with Kaiden.

We all watched the pack Shaman continue to perform the ritual she was performing while she sought the face of the moon goddess.


Soon the pack Shaman stopped abruptly, almost startling me and we all watched her cautiously.


She stood still staring straight into the air so mysteriously.

She then shook so violently and turned towards Kaiden and I instantly felt my heart skip a beat.


What was this? Was there a message from the moon goddess and was it a good one? I wondered as I watched so eagerly.


The pack Shaman took a few steps towards where Kaiden stood and I could almost feel my heart threaten to leave my chest.


"Kaiden Authur of the Blue Moon pack,"
she spoke as we all watched eagerly, the pack members and I. "Son of the late Alpha Authur and Luna Caroline.


The Moon spirits have seen your intentions and they are ready to stand by your side as the new Alpha of the Blue Moon pack!" She proclaimed and that elicited a happy round of cheers from the pack members.


No doubt this was also what they wanted. I let out a ragged breath which I hadn't realized until now that I had been holding.


Phew! Thank goodness! My subconscious breathed.


"The Moon goddess has approved of your intentions to be the next Alpha of the Blue Moon pack," she went on. "And will stand beside and lead you through your journey,
" She said to him and I saw the smile that formed on Kaiden's lips. He gently let out a bow at the pack shaman.


"Now you may choose your Beta." The pack shaman said and I saw Kaiden's eyes fall on his father's beta. I knew he had been looking in my direction the entire time and no doubt he must have noticed that his beta was beside me.


The good thing was that they had both been acquitted. They had both engaged on missions together and they had worked together for years unending.


"Jack," Kaiden called his chief for that was his name, right in the presence of the pack shaman and in extension the Moon goddess."


Before the Moon goddess and before the eyes of everyone honorable pack member present here in this meeting ground, I proclaim you my beta!" He said and the entire pack erupted in another feat of cheers and happy noises.



The pack shaman then turned to me and my eyes skipped yet another beat.


What was this now? I wondered as I eyed her cautiously.


"Come!" She demanded and I impulsively stepped forward, not realizing that I had started walking towards her until I got to where she was.


I could feel my heartbeat quickening and the heat that was creeping up my neck at all of that attention.


Kaiden was doing an incredible job at being calm under everything that was happening presently.


I could literally feel the eyes of every single pack member, both old and young, on my back and it made me feel uncomfortable.

I shifted uncomfortably on my feet while I stood in front of the pack shaman.


She watched me closely for a few seconds before she spoke.


"Lilian," she began. "Now Lilian Authur of the Blue Moon pack. " She said and the pack members hummed at that.


"You have a great destiny to fulfill alongside your mate, Kaiden Authur. You shall stand by his side while you both fulfill your destiny which is your duty to the pack. " She said while I watched her, with my heart in my hands.


I didn't know what to say to what she had just said to me and so I kept silent.


"Lilian," the pack shaman went on. "Today I make you a companion to Alpha Kaiden and the Luna of the Blue Moon pack!" She proclaimed and the entire pack erupted yet again, in another round of cheers and jubilations.


I turned to look at Kaiden who was smiling broadly and proudly at me. He looked like he could kiss me this very minute.


I could too! I wanted that. I smiled broadly as I watched the pack members cheer.


Then the pack Shaman raised her hand up and everyone went silent. The entire meeting ground was as still as a burial ground in a matter of seconds.


"Pack members of the Blue Moon dynasty!" The pack shaman called. "I present to you, your Alpha! Alpha Kaiden Authur!" She pronounced and I felt the tears well in my eyes as the pack broke into yet again, another round of cheers and rejoicing.

This time the cheers were more than the usual and louder.
