Instant Enemies
Isabel's POV
Her calm demeanor was fastly working on my nerves. She was making me get angry.
Why couldn't she yell at me or something, so that I would not have to try to play the victim and become the victim truly?
She was just too perfect.
And worse! es
Kaiden's parents, the Alpha and Luna, approve of her. They even liked her! I could see it. But they never liked me. Not in the way that I wanted. They always seemed to think that I wasn't good enough for their son even though he was more than what I wanted.
But this bitch came over and they quickly warmed up to her. I scoffed. Of course, I knew she was using some sort of charm on them. To make them like her. She knew very well that Kaiden's parents would approve of the marriage if they approved of her and so she capitalized on that. She was smart, I got to give it to her. To come up with such an idea.
Why hadn't I thought of it that way before?
I wondered as I stood in her way. I was trying to be quiet so Kaiden or even his parents would not know what was going on, but this low life gold digger was still proving adamant.
"Get away from here, Isabel." She told me and I unfolded my arms from my chest and allowed them to fall to my sides. I let out a laugh at her audacity.
"And who the hell do you think you are, telling me what to do, huh?" I asked her and I saw her roll her eyes. She was obviously tired.
"Just get away from the way," she said resignedly. "I really need to be in my bedroom right now." She told me.
"I'm going to say it one last time," I told her, I was still standing in her face. "Kaiden is not your class. You may be trying to get him to be your mate, but you should know that he doesn't like you.
He doesn't approve of you." I told her and I watched her face mask into a hard and expressionless one. The moment I saw it, I knew my words had gotten to her.
"Message well received." She said surprising me. I had expected her to bring up a bigger comeback but this, this wasn't what I was expecting. "Now can I get on with heading to my bed chambers, your majesty?" She asked me and that took me aback.
What was her deal? She was supposed to be fighting me, tooth and nailedly, but why was she being all nice and calm.
Wait!
I felt the alarms ringing in my head. What if someone was watching and she was pretending to be the nicer one?! I slyly looked around but there was no one in sight, my werewolf instincts did not even pick up a unique scent.
I smiled at her as I stepped aside.
"I will let you go, Lilian." I said smiling. "But I do hope you learned a lesson or even two from what we discussed?" I told her. But she didn't say anything to me. Instead she turned on her heels and left me in the hallway, she headed towards her bed chambers.
As soon as she was gone I breathed out as I felt myself getting riled up.
Damned that bitch was just too quiet. It was getting on my nerves. I did not like her. I still don't. She is a snatcher and a gold digger. And I had made up my mind to expose her.
And with that, I headed towards Kaiden's study. He was there. He was going through some stuff and I sat at a chair and waited for him to turn his attention to me.
He glanced at me and then looked away before glancing back at me. All these happening in somewhat three seconds.
"What is it?" He asked me and I huffed.
"Why did you not tell me until now that you're getting a mate?" I whined. He looked away and shrugged his shoulders.
"That is not your problem Isabel." He said to me. "I wouldn't want to have you bothered about what is the right thing to do and what not. " He said to me.
"And now she is rubbing it in my face." I lied as I blinked repeatedly. He sighed.
"She dared not. She knows her place way too well to do that." He said and I smiled in satisfaction. I had found out that Kaiden did not approve of that gold digger. If anything, she repulsed him. I could see it so clearly, the writing on the wall.
"Promise me then,"I told him. "Promise me that you won't abandon your best friend for some low life all in the bid to be a mate of yours. " I told him as I put on my dog eyed face. He smiled at me.
"Go get yourself busy Isabel." He joked. "You look incredibly ridiculous." He added snickering and I let out a smile at that. One that didn't reach my eyes.
He may think that I was only joking, but I was far from that. I was dead serious. And if that weak and feeble girl, Lilian crossed my path without paying obeisance to me, I would do Kaiden the honor of snuffing out life from that weak and useless body of hers. I vowed even though I was still smiling with Kaiden.
"Very well then." I said to him. "I must get going right now." I told him and he nodded his head.
"It was nice having dinner with you Isabel."
He said to me, "I had thought that I would have to sit and be forced to be nice to that pretentious woman." He said as I watched him. I could almost giggle. I enjoyed watching him hate on her. And I knew that I had only just met her, but it felt right to hate her already.
She was after all, my competition.
