10. David

Lucy
Everyone was so busy around the pack, but no one looked at me to help. Tony left me with Matt as members of the pack came up to ask him questions.
“Come on, I’ll give you a tour,” Matt said.
I followed after him. “Why doesn’t anyone come to ask you anything?”
He laughed. “Because they know I’m not going to do it.”
He took me around the first floor, then up the center of stairs and down a long hallway.
“This is where all of our kids will be living.”
My face heated at the thought. “K-Kids?”
He hummed. “I apologize in advance, but twins run in our family, obviously, and… we’ve always wanted a big family. We promise to take good care of you, though.”
I didn’t count the number of doors we passed until we reached the end of the hallway, and he threw open the door.
“And this is my room,” Matt said. He closed the door behind us. “Now that Tony is definitely going to be busy….”

Matt kept me in bed all day, kissing me and having sex. We ate dinner in his room and breakfast, but I hadn’t seen or heard Tony in all that time.
“Where’s Tony?” I asked as we cuddled naked together on his huge bed.
“Probably being in charge of something somewhere,” Matt said and turned to me. “You miss him that much? I must have gone too easy on you.”
He kissed me and rolled me over. He growled, and I felt him get hard as he slipped his hips between my legs.
Then, the door opened.
“Knock it off,” Tony cut in, walking into the room. “You little brat. Get up.”
I chuckled as Tony pulled Matt out of bed and shoved him toward the bathroom.
“You have work to do.” He wrapped the blankets around me and scooped me up. “As do you.”
I blinked. “Me?”
“Yes. There’s a whole host of spa attendants waiting on you in your room to get you ready.”
He glared at Matt. “Which I told Matt to tell you, but he was too preoccupied.”
Matt grinned. “It would be fine if we were a little late.”
He scoffed. “No.”
He carried me down the hall to another set of large doors.
“We haven’t had the chance to give you the full tour,” Tony said. “Your room, the luna’s quarters, are here.”
He turned so I could see the room at the end of the hallway. “That is my room. You can hide in there whenever you need to escape from Matt.”
I turned my face into his chest and smiled. “Okay…. Are you upset?”
“No. I’m well aware of what kind of person my brother is,” Tony said.
“You should rest.”
Tony kissed the top of my head. “I will. Now, let these women pamper you for a few hours, okay?”
I nodded as he opened the door and set me inside. I didn’t recognize any of them, but they all smiled at me and led me further into the beautiful room.
They put me in the large bathtub filled with flower petals. When that was over, they oiled my skin and massaged me until I fell asleep on the table. I woke up to someone combing my hair.
They guided me into a salon chair to do my nails and my hair. When the hairdryer turned on, I was a little nervous that they’d make my hair really frizzy, but I didn’t try to stop them. Tony said I should let them pamper me, so I let them.
They didn’t let me see myself after they were done with my hair and put me in a soft white dress. It wasn’t like a dress I’d seen in a bridal shop. It looked more like a toga. They put a thin circle of silver in my hair and then guided me to the mirror.
I didn’t recognize myself. They’d curled my hair perfectly and did something to my eyes that made me look older, more mature.
“I think the alpha will be pleased,” one of the older women said.
“He’d better be!” A younger woman huffed. “Those curls are my best work!”
I laughed, unable to help it. She crossed his arms. “If Alpha Matt doesn’t try to get his hands in your hair at least once before the ceremony starts, I’m going to quit and take up knitting.”
The rest of the women laughed as they started to pack things up. A knock sounded on the door.
“Are you ready?” Tony asked through the door.
The older woman ushered me to the door and opened it. His eyes widened. He looked surprised, and he just stared for a long time.
“I think she is,” the woman said with a smile and a nudge forward.
Tony smiled down at me and took my hand.
“You look beautiful,” Tony said.
I turned at the sound of footsteps coming from Matt’s room. He grinned, and his eyes went hazy as he stared at me.
“Your hair…” Matt came towards me and reached out. The older woman swatted his hand away. “Ouch!”
“Seems like you’re safe from your knitting fate,” she said. The women inside giggled. “Hands out of her hair. She’s meeting the other pack leaders. She can’t have mussed hair.”
Matt huffed. “I think she’d still be beautiful.”
“Alpha Tony,” she said. “I’m trusting you to keep him in line and his hands out of her hair.”
He chuckled. “Of course.”
He offered me his arm. “Let’s get going. Matt, contain yourself at least until after the ceremony.”
His shoulders slumped. “Fine, but only because she can be outright vicious when she wants to be.”
Tony smiled and leaned close. “She was our nanny growing up. If you ever have a problem with Matt, let her know, and she’d get him straightened out.”
I laughed as we walked down the hallway. I heard people coming in through the front door, and my heart started to speed up, yet neither Tony nor Matt slowed down. They didn’t even seem worried as we reached the landing at the top of the center stairs, looking down over the entryway.
Then, I gasped as I recognized one of the men coming in.
“David?”
Matt and Tony tensed as David turned and looked up at me. His eyes narrowed, then widened. A beaming smile took over his face.
“Lucy?” David asked. “Is that really you?”
I squealed, dashing down the stairs before either of them could stop me. David hurried towards the steps and swept me into his arms with a tight hug and a laugh.
“It is you!” I said. “Where have you–”
I was pulled away from him sharply. Tony planted himself between us as Matt pulled me back into his arms.
“How do you know our mate?”
