18. Kissed her

Matt
I tried to go to sleep when Tony left, but it was hard. Knowing he was up and not cuddling up to our mate made me feel antsy. What was he looking up? Was it something about Lucy? Was he actually just on a call?
Go to sleep, Tony said through our link. You’re making me nervous.
I frowned. You’re the one out of bed. How important could it be?
It’s about Lucy.
I licked my lips and opened my eyes again. Tony still wasn’t back.
When are you coming back?
I didn’t get an answer. I didn’t know if that meant that he was on the way back now or he was just too focused to answer.
“Is he on a call?”
I looked down at Lucy, and my lips twitched. “Did he wake you?”
She shook her head. “I just… wake up sometimes.”
I kissed her deeply, rolling her onto her back. “Well, if he is, then he can’t blame me for taking advantage of the situation. We haven’t been doing it right if you’re still just waking up sometimes.”
I kissed down her neck, enjoying the way she arched against me. I sucked on the mark on her neck, my mark and felt my whole body shudder with need and want. I wanted her so badly. She smelled so good. I was so hard. I don’t think I’d ever get enough of her.
“What will I do?” She asked softly. “If I can’t shift?”
I pulled back and looked down at her. She looked worried.
“Exactly what you’re doing now,” I said, slipping between her legs. “Whether you can shift or not. We’ll always protect you.”
I smirked. “Besides, if you can’t shift that means you can’t really run away either. It’ll make having a bunch of kids a lot easier, won’t it?”
Lucy
I didn’t know what to say to that. Luckily, I didn’t have to. He kissed me and started thrusting his hips against mine. I relaxed and slid my arms around his neck. Then, I felt something in his hair. I pulled it out and frowned. It was hard like a nut or a piece of a pine cone. The scent of it filled my nose as I tossed it away.
For a moment, the room shifted around me. The scent of wood and something else was pulling me away from Matt and his words. I felt him kissing me. I felt the weight of his body and the pleasure when he pushed inside me, but I wasn’t there. In my mind, I was somewhere else. The wind howled around me. I could barely see through the trees. The air was cold like it had been when we went outside these last few nights. The trees were different, though.
Had I fallen asleep? I don’t know, but I didn’t think so. I’d never had a dream like this before.
“Lucy?” I heard Matt’s voice coming through the trees and on the wind. I blinked and blinked, trying to fight my way back to him, but I couldn’t focus.
My head ached. I heard voices, but I couldn’t make out what they were saying.
“Lucy?”
I shook my head and looked up at Matt. He looked troubled. I could feel him inside me, but I didn’t exactly remember when. He licked his lips.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
I nodded, and he pressed his lips to mine, holding me close and thrusting into me. The pleasure pushed me closer to sleep. I heard him gasping and groaning as he came and held me close. He turned me onto my side, and the scent of the forest filled my nose again as I turned into his pillow.
I didn’t even remember falling asleep, but I was dropped back into that unfamiliar forest again. There was a house, barely visible through the tall trees. It looked really big, like the pack’s house. Every window was filled with warm light like rich people’s houses were decorated for Christmas, but there were no reindeer or banners of tinsel on the house. I felt warm looking at it though I didn’t remember it at all. The forest felt alive and fresh around me. The wind pushed me towards the house. I started to walk. Then I started to run, but the longer I ran, the faster I ran, and the further away the house seemed to get.
My head started to hurt, but I couldn’t turn back. There were mountains in the distance, and above my head, the sky was cloudy.
As I reached the path that I was sure would lead to the house full of light and warmth, a cold wind blew, and the clouds parted.
I woke up and groaned as my head ached. Was that a dream? It felt too real to be a dream.
“Lucy?” Matt asked softly. “Are you alright?”
I turned over and curled closer to him. “I’m fine.”
Where was that place? I didn’t know, but thinking about it only seemed to make my head hurt more, so I closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep.
The door opened, and Tony entered.
“About time,” Matt said.
Tony scoffed. “I can see how much you missed me.”
Tony climbed into bed behind me and pulled me up against him. He slipped his hand between my legs and pulled my legs apart.
“I hope you’re not too tired just yet.”
I moaned, closing my eyes as he pushed into me. I was still wet from having sex with Matt. Matt groaned and kissed me, fondling my breasts, as Tony thrust into me. Tony grunted into my ear. The bed rocked beneath us. It felt good, so good that I could barely breathe. All I could do was hold on and try not to pass out.
We had sex until I couldn’t stay away any longer, but I heard Tony’s voice.
“I think I found an answer,” Tony said. “We’ll try it out in a few days.”
