41 One-night stand

Lucy

“I don’t even recognize her.”
Tony nudged me towards Matt, who took my hand.
“Tony,” she spat. Then, she looked at me. “Who the hell is she? No call. Not even a text, and the next time I see you, you’re in the mall shopping with some random girl? You didn’t even take me shopping!”
“You were a one-night stand,” Tony said. “Which I made clear to you then, Maria.”
She snarled and looked at me. “You’re not even pretty!”
I blinked at her. “I know.”
Matt’s grip tightened on my hand as she started to laugh. Tony stepped between us.
“Apologize to her right now.”
“I’m not apologizing to anyone—Hey!”
Tony took her by her arm and pulled her away from us. Matt pulled me close.
“You are pretty,” Matt said. “Maria’s just a piece of work.”
Matt sighed. “Though I’m glad that I wasn’t the only one who has to deal with ex issues—”
“Matt Chance!”
I didn’t even turn to look at the woman as she stomped towards us. Matt groaned.
“Tony’s going to blame me for this.”
“I finally found you,” she seethed and looked at me. “Who the hell is this? Some new tramp?”
“Don’t call her that,” Matt growled. “Back off. I told you we were done.”
She pouted and pushed up against him, trailing her hands up his chest. “But you said I was the best you’ve ever had. She can’t be better than me….”
Matt scoffed and pushed her back. “I hadn’t slept with her until then.”
“She’s barely out of high school!” She hissed. “I didn’t think you were taking after your father.”
Matt’s hand tightened on mine. This was the second time someone had mentioned their father. I saw Tony coming back without the woman from earlier.
“If you don’t have any real business with my brother,” Tony growled. “Leave.”
She flinched and glared at me, then stomped off.
Tony took a deep breath. “We’re leaving.”
“Agreed,” Matt said, pulling me along. He looked down at me. “Aren’t you going to ask?”
I glanced at him. “Am I going to have to meet your father?”
We got into the car, and the silence felt heavy.
“Eventually,” Tony said.
I swallowed. “Will… I have to sleep with him too?”
Matt and Tony whirled on me, growling fiercely.
“No!” Tony barked. “I’d tear his fucking throat out.”
I flinched at his tone. Then, he clenched his hands at his sides. He dropped the bags on the floor just as Matt was reaching for me. I gasped as Tony pulled me up to kiss him.
“You’re our mate,” he growled. “Ours. I’d kill anyone who wanted to take you from us. “
Matt sunk his teeth into my neck just like Tony had done a while ago, in the same place that the mark had been before.
Then, he lifted my dress up. Tony guided my hand to wrap around his cock, and I closed my eyes.
At least I wouldn’t have to sleep with their father too.

I couldn’t even feel my legs when the car stopped in front of the house. I felt like I wanted to sleep. Then, their beta came up to us as Matt pulled me out of the car. Tony went still ahead of us and hissed.
“She’s here?”
He nodded stiffly. “She wouldn’t leave, and given the situation….”
He glanced at me. “We didn’t know what you wanted us to do.”
Matt pulled me close. “I’ll take Lucy upstairs.”
“No,” Tony said. “It will only make this more difficult.”
“I’m sorry, alpha, I—”
Tony turned on him. I couldn’t see his face, but their beta’s face went pale, and he dropped his gaze.
“Next time, she is not allowed to just come as she pleases,” Tony said and led the way into the house. Matt sighed and pulled me along.
“Let’s just get this over with.”
“Get what over with?” I asked, stumbling after him.
“Politics.”
Matt left me. Tony took my hand. Matt stopped in front of a parlor door and entered, but we didn’t follow. Tony led me further down the hall and then into another parlor. He closed the door behind us and pushed me into a chair before he started to pace.
“You’re going to meet the first of many lunas today,” he said. “And her daughter… Two lunas, in fact, and their daughters. They’re going to expect you to speak with them kindly. They’re allies of a sort.”
I frowned and looked at my hands. “What does that mean?”
Tony huffed. “Their packs are… complicated. They’re packs with ties to the Black Moon and Blood Moon packs, respectively.”
I bit my lip and looked up at him. “Does… that mean David is here?”
He growled. His eyes flashed. “No. And he won’t be anywhere near you ever again if I can help it.”
I lowered my gaze. “Okay.”
“Him or Peter,” he grit out. “You’re going to have to speak with them. They’ll know if you’re lying, so don’t. Tell them that you’re our mate. Listen to what they have to say and politely excuse yourself. We’ll talk about what they have to say later. You’re not prepared for a longer conversation than that.”
I blinked. “Okay.”
“You don’t have any questions?”
“No.”
Tony made a frustrated sound, but before he said anything else, he turned on his heel. “Come on. Matt’s… made small talk.”
I stood up again, and he caught me in his arms. His eyes narrowed at the marks on my neck before he kissed me again.
“They will not harm you. If you feel in danger, you only need to call for help.”
“Okay.”
Tony led me out of the parlor and down the hall to the parlor, where I could hear Matt speaking. Tony knocked before opening the door and leading me inside. The four women stood, and each of them bowed their head in greeting. Two of them were blonde, and the other two were brunette.
“Alpha Tony,” the older blonde woman said demurely. “A pleasure as always to see you.”
“Interesting that you have made a trip here at this time,” Tony said, leading me around the couch. He sat on the other side of the couch that Matt sat on, then pulled me to sit between them.
I didn’t move, and I didn’t speak, but I felt the four women staring at me.
“We heard from our alphas that you had to leave the conference early due to… issues with your… mate,” the brunette older woman said. “We came to offer aid.”
“As you can see, she is quite fine,” Tony said. “Though I don’t appreciate you dropping in at your leisure.”
The woman’s eyes hardened. “I did not think that, given her state, it would be a problem.”
Tony sat back. “Let it be known that it is.”
The two older women set their jaws. The two younger women who looked about Tony and Matt’s ages looked angry as they looked at me. I didn’t remember them from the ceremony.
“Be that as it may, it’s been more than long enough for a luna’s meeting,” the older blonde said. She smiled. “Or are we no longer allies, Alpha Tony?”
“I am not saying I oppose your presence,” Tony said. ”Just how you showed up.”
He stood. “I have things to attend to.”
He stroked my face. “When you are done, have them show out. We are not dining in tonight.”
“Okay.”
He kissed my forehead. “For future reference, little one. You should address me as alpha in public.”
I let my gaze drift away from him. “Okay, alpha.”
Matt chuckled and kissed my temple. “Give her a break, Tony. She’s not learning etiquette yet.”
“I wasn’t being harsh,” Tony said. “Come on. We’ll leave them to it.”
Matt and Tony left, and as soon as the door closed, the air went cold.
