Chapter 23 - Dark Sphere

Brielle of the Dark Sphere Coven was working on locating the Emerald Stone Coven heirs that may have slipped through the cracks when they eliminated them. She was confident that there were none out there because if there were any, she was sure that they would have made themselves known by now. Still, she continued to look; Brielle had placed spells on different covens and packs throughout North America. The spells that she had placed would allow her to identify if the person she put a spell on came into contact with an Emerald Stone witch. She was targeting the wolf packs because Jasmine mated with a werewolf.

That was not normal for witches of any coven, as they liked to stick with their own. However, Jasmine did not follow the standard rules. Brielle thought if Jasmine had mated with a shifter, maybe another from the coven had done it as well.

Brielle was several hundred years old but looked like a beautiful twenty-year-old. She had long pale blonde hair, a small petite figure, and deep blue eyes. She was one of the evilest of all the black magic witches in the world. She did not care who she hurt or killed to get what she wanted. Brielle was well known by some of the shifter communities; they would call on her to assist with some of their dirty deeds. She did not care what they did, but her services were not cheap. Anything they had her do came at a steep price.

Right now, though, her main concern was finding anyone from Emerald Stone. The Dark Sphere Coven was the largest and most evil of the black magic witches in the world. Even others who practiced black magic were scared of her coven. That was because they had been around a lot longer than any other of their kind.

Brielle was the High Priestess of the coven; even though they were spread out throughout the world, hidden in plain sight, she knew the activities of those in the coven. If one of her witches tried to switch sides or go rogue, she knew and immediately killed them. Brielle had no sympathy for traitors; actually, she had no sympathy for anyone. If she finds an Emerald Stone witch, she will kill her without a second thought, finally eliminating their one true enemy.

Those of Emerald Stone were the only witches that were a threat to Dark Sphere; they were the only ones who could kill them. It only took one of those green-eyed bitches to do it if she had the sacred stone. Brielle was not going to let that happen. She will find anyone with even a trace of Emerald Stone blood and kill them before they know what hit them.

When she had killed Jasmine with the slow death spell, she had been surprised that it worked on her. When they eliminated the other members of her coven, the sacred stone was not found among them, so she assumed Jasmine had it. However, after Jasmine and her mate died, they did not have the stone. Brielle figured that they must have hidden the stone somewhere. She wanted the stone because she would be more powerful than the devil himself with it in her hands. She believed that there was magic associated with that stone that even the Emerald Stone Coven knew nothing about when they were alive.

While Brielle was going through the packs that she had placed spells on, she began feeling strange. It felt like someone was messing with one of her spells, but she couldn’t tell where it was coming from. Something was blocking her from seeing which pack and pack member was being affected. She tried every evil trick and spell she could think of to get past the block that wouldn’t let her in, but nothing worked. That is when it hit her; the only witch who could have magic this powerful would have to be from Emerald Stone.

Brielle felt her body shake with anger. Not only did she have confirmation that there was at least one of them still out there. This witch now knew that one of the pack members had a spell on them; Brielle just hoped that the witch was unaware of where the spell came from. Brielle screamed so loudly it shook the walls. She had no idea where this witch was, and it infuriated her. She was now more determined than ever to locate this witch and kill her. The Black Sphere depended on her killing her; otherwise, she would surely end them all.

“Celeste, get in here now.” Brielle screamed in anger for her assistant.

Celeste was also a witch, but she was still young at fifty-five. She had been her assistant for five years now, which is longer than any of her prior assistants had lasted. Brielle was not known to keep them around for more than a year. She was insanely jealous if anyone was prettier than her in her house. So she usually ended up killing her assistants, that attracted too much male attention.

“Yes, Lady Brielle, what can I do for you?”

Celeste came running in and bowed politely. She was no fool; Celeste was aware that the only reason Brielle had kept her around was that she was deformed. Half of Celeste’s face looked like something out of a horror movie. When she was a child, another black magic witch had placed a spell on her to get revenge on Celeste’s mother, who had stolen her lover.

“I need you to travel in secret to every pack that I have placed a spell on to look for the Emerald Stone witches. One of them is alive, but I don’t know which pack they are associated with. I know it is a werewolf pack, though, and I want you to stick with just the packs in North America right now. You do remember what the Emerald Stone witches look like, don’t you?” Brielle figured that because Celeste was deformed, she was probably stupid too.

“Yes, Lady Brielle, I know they have pale white skin, Reddish hair, and emerald green eyes. I will leave right away, madam.” Celeste bowed before walking out of the room. She would have skipped out of the room if she didn’t think it would have gotten her killed. She loved leaving Brielle’s house.

The High Priestess’ house was located in Dayton, Ohio. The house was large and made of dark stone. It looked like something out of medieval times. Inside was stunning because Brielle liked to have both humans and shifters over. So she had to put up the front as though she lived a normal life. Everything inside the house was top of the line and expensive. However, the dungeon under the house is where Brielle spent most of her time. Celeste preferred the house over the dungeon. She actually wished she had been born to a pure coven rather than a dark one.

Celeste pretended to enjoy Brielle’s evil deeds, but she did not like to see anyone hurt in reality. She would have left a long time ago, but Brielle made it clear that she would kill any witches that left the coven. Celeste was not a fool. She had seen it done to witches even far across the world. So she would take every opportunity she could to leave Brielle’s presence.

Brielle watched Celeste leave and shook her head. That idiot better not mess this up, or she would kill her next. Brielle went over to her potions. She would begin working on one to get ready for the witch of the Emerald Stone. This time there would be no mistakes. She will end them all.
