Chapter 54 - The Traitor Revealed

Mollie and Amber took their jobs seriously to find out who the traitor was. They had worked out a schedule so that one of them was following Kaleigh at all times. Sometimes it was both of them to look less suspicious.

They followed Dominick a few times, but he spent most of his time in the office. Kaleigh was always out on the pack grounds, training and getting to know the pack members, so she was more visible.

While they followed Kaleigh, they compared notes of who they spotted repeatedly. Mollie and Amber agreed that a few seemed to be around more than others, but they weren't sure yet who was up to no good.

Today they were together following Kaleigh. They noticed one of the Omega females seemed to be around a lot. They didn't think she was the traitor they were searching for, but Mollie and Amber were curious about what she was doing. She appeared to be trying to decide something.

Amber suggested they keep an eye on her but not engage because they didn't want to draw attention to themselves. Mollie agreed with her. They continued following Kaleigh and noticed that one of their suspects was also in the vicinity, so the Omega was temporarily forgotten.

Nikki was going back and forth, trying to make her mind up about talking to Kaleigh regarding the man who attempted to rape her. She had been losing sleep that he may try to hurt someone else if she didn't say anything. On the other hand, she figured she was not raped, so what exactly would she report.

Nikki watched Kaleigh from the shadows as she walked around the pack talking to various people. She envied her grace and beauty. While Nikki was watching, she noticed someone else watching the future Luna, and her blood ran cold. It was the man who tried to rape her.

At that moment, Nikki knew she had to say something to Kaleigh. She didn't want him getting anywhere near her, even if he was a friend of Dominick's. Nikki stayed hidden so he wouldn't see her, and she decided to approach Kaleigh as soon as she was alone.

Mollie and Amber were watching the same man as Nikki. Neither of them had ever liked him. He was arrogant and treated women like they were inanimate objects. They noticed that the Omega was also looking at him with pure fear on her face. Mollie and Amber looked at each other in confusion but decided to wait to see what happened.

Kaleigh made her way down the main street of the pack grounds talking to some pack members as she went. Kaleigh made sure to get out every day and take a walk. She wanted to be seen by the pack and not hidden in the packhouse.

Kaleigh knew that Mollie and Amber were both following her today. They had mindlinked her, saying they had a couple of suspects, but they didn't want to say anything until they were sure.

The traitor watched Kaleigh walk down the street like she owned the place. He hated women like her who thought their opinion mattered and were equal to men. He was glad that the area was crowded; it gave him more cover as he followed her.

He wanted to abduct her and take her to Josephine today. His cock had healed from what the Omega had done to him, so he was ready to force Josephine to take care of his needs. That would be part of the deal for him to hand over Kaleigh.

He pretended to be strolling along without a care in the world. He smiled and nodded to people as he went. He just needed to get her somewhere to grab her without anyone seeing.

Kaleigh was almost to the perfect spot, and he was getting ready to run ahead of her when something caught his eye. It was Dominick running down the street, heading straight for his mate.

The traitor cursed under his breath and began walking toward the packhouse. The kidnapping would have to wait for another day. He was furious as he stomped away. He would get her within the next day or two, and no one would stop him.

Nikki watched as the man left in the packhouse's direction, and she sighed with relief. Now she felt more comfortable approaching Kaleigh. However, Dominick was with her, and Nikki was a little intimidated by him. She decided it was time to stop hiding and be strong like Kaleigh had taught her. She started heading in the direction of Kaleigh and Dominick.

Amber and Mollie watched their suspect leave. They also saw the Omega look relieved when he was gone. They could tell she had finally decided to approach Kaleigh, but she looked hesitant now that Dominick was with her.

Amber and Mollie smiled at each other before Amber mindlinked Kaleigh. They told her there was a young Omega they thought wanted to talk to her, but she was cautious because of Dominick. Amber told her they didn't think she was any threat to Kaleigh but may have information on one of their suspects.

When Kaleigh received the mindlink from Amber, she felt hope. Maybe this Omega saw something and was trying to find the right time to tell her.

"Dom, can you do me a favor?" Kaleigh smiled up at her mate, who had been walking with her.

"Anything, my love." Dominick leaned down and kissed Kaleigh's forehead.

"Amber mindlinked me that there's a young Omega that appears to want to talk to me, but she is hesitant because you're with me. Would you mind walking ahead of me a little? Amber said it's a possibility she may know something about the traitor."

Dominick frowned a little and looked around. He noticed a young Omega she-wolf watching them nervously. Dominick smiled at Kaleigh. He recognized the Omega as one that works in their kitchen. He knew she wouldn't harm a fly.

"Sure, Kaleigh, I'll let you talk to her privately." He gave Kaleigh a quick kiss before walking swiftly away.

Kaleigh slowed her pace on purpose, hoping the Omega would approach her. Kaleigh felt a light tap on her shoulder and turned around. She recognized Nikki. She was one of Kaleigh's best trainees. Kaleigh smiled warmly at her.

"Hi Nikki, how are you doing?"

Nikki was speechless for a minute. She didn't think Kaleigh knew who she was, but Kaleigh had recognized her immediately. That made Nikki smile in relief, as all her doubts about talking to Kaleigh went away.

"Hi, Kaleigh. I'm not good, I'm afraid. Can I talk to you privately, please? I need some advice and didn't know who to go to." Nikki was nervous that Kaleigh would tell her to leave her alone, but she smiled at her again instead.

"Of course, Nikki. How about we go back to the packhouse and my office?" Kaleigh and Dominick had already had the packhouse searched for cameras and listening devices. A few had been found, but none were in her and Dominick's office. So Kaleigh knew their conversation would remain confidential there.

Nikki nodded and started to follow Kaleigh. She didn't feel like she should walk next to her because Kaleigh was like royalty in her eyes. Nikki noticed that Kaleigh had slowed down and was waiting for her to catch up. When Nikki got to her side, Kaleigh put her arm around the girls' shoulders.

"Nikki, I can tell you're nervous about whatever you need to talk about, but I promise you have nothing to worry about. I'll help you in whatever way I can, okay?" Nikki was surprised when Kaleigh put her arm around her like a friend.

Nikki had never had good friends, only some girls she talked to from time to time. She was on the verge of tears from Kaleigh's kindness, but she didn't want to appear weak in front of someone as strong as Kaleigh.

"Thank you, Kaleigh." Nikki walked next to Kaleigh with a little more peace in her heart.

Kaleigh felt bad for Nikki. She could tell that whatever was weighing on her mind was causing her a lot of distress. Kaleigh hoped she'd be able to help her.

When they reached the packhouse, Kaleigh led Nikki to her and Dominick's office. She sat down on the couch and had Nikki sit next to her.

"Okay, Nikki, what did you want to talk about?" Kaleigh held Nikki's hand in comfort as she waited.

Nikki took a deep breath before she started talking. Once she started, she couldn't stop. Nikki told Kaleigh everything that happened from the minute the man approached her until she clawed his genitals.

Kaleigh tried to keep a calm face, but when Nikki told her what had happened, she felt the fury in her growing. For someone in this pack to think they can treat a she-wolf in this manner was disgusting. Kaleigh squeezed Nikki's hand when she began crying.

"I was worried about saying anything because this man has more power than I do. Just like he said, he could kill me, and no one would care." Kaleigh wrapped her arms around Nikki while she cried.

"Nikki, no one has more power than anyone else in this pack. Don't think that you don't have a voice because you are an Omega. You have just as many rights as everyone else from the Alpha all the way down the ranks. What this man did to you and said to you should not have happened. You did the right thing by coming to me." Kaleigh felt Nikki's shoulders relax a little.

"Thank you, Kaleigh. I wanted to make sure he couldn't do this to any other girl." Nikki looked up into Kaleigh's eyes and felt comforted.

"Nikki, can I ask Dominick to come in here? I want you to explain to him what happened, and then I want you to tell us both who the man is that did this to you." Kaleigh saw the look of uncertainty in Nikki's eyes.

"Okay, Kaleigh, he can come, but will he be mad if the man is one of his friends?" Nikki was still worried that she would be in trouble.

Kaleigh felt even angrier that the person who tried to hurt Nikki was one of Dom's friends. For him to use that as a way to take advantage of young she-wolves was unforgivable.

"No, Nikki, he won't be mad at you, but he will be very angry with the man who did this." Kaleigh reassured Nikki.

"Okay, I'll tell Dominick too."

Kaleigh mindlinked Dominick to come to their office right away. He had been waiting in the loft, so he was there within seconds.

Dominick walked into the office and saw the worry on Nikki's face and the anger on Kaleigh's. He noticed Kaleigh was holding the girl's hand, which told him that whatever was making his mate angry was something this girl had told her.

"Hi ladies, what can I do for you?" Dominick smiled at them both, and he could see Nikki visibly relax.

"Dom, Nikki just shared some upsetting information with me, and I asked her to share it with you as well. Can you take a seat, please?" Kaleigh was glad Dominick was there because she wanted to let Skylar out to finish what Nikki had started on the man who hurt her.

"Sure. Nikki, go ahead. I'm listening."

Nikki swallowed and took another deep breath before repeating her story to Dominick. She saw the anger in Dominick's eyes as she recounted everything that had happened. Nikki continued almost in a monotone voice. She was glad to finally tell someone that could do something to stop the man. The worry had been eating her alive for days.

"Nikki, Kaleigh is right. What this man did to you was wrong, and he will be punished. I'm very sorry that you had to go through this. I just have one question, who was the man?" Dominick held his breath, hoping it wasn't someone he was close to. He saw Nikki look at Kaleigh and his mate nodded to her in encouragement.

"He's one of your friends Dominick. It was Patrick."
