Chapter 16 - Getting Ready

Kaleigh, Brandie, and Jasmine were working together to see how well their magic and wolves' magic could fight the witches. Gavin, Celeste, Hannah, and Alannah were working with the pack and the new arrivals on using their fighting skills against the witches.

The Fallen Eagle had a couple of witches in their pack, but they were not prepared to fight the power of the Black Sphere. So they were being trained alongside the wolves to use weapons and would only use their magic for minor issues.

Everyone was working well together, and those from White Raven had been in fights like this, so they answered many questions from the Fallen Eagel Pack. The pack members of Fallen Eagle, who had been somewhat apprehensive about fighting black magic, were feeling more confident with the arrival of Kaleigh and Dominick.

Dominick watched his daughters, and their mates lead the pack, and he couldn't have been more proud of them. He could tell Aaron and Titus were good men and cared for their mates. Dominick had wanted to help with the fight, but he also wanted to check in on Brandie and Jasmine.

Kaleigh was in the meadow with Brandie and Jasmine, working on their magic. Together with their wolves, the three of them created an intense amount of power that even those not in the field could feel. For those in the pack, comforting energy washed over them.

However, for the witches in the area, it was spine-chilling energy that terrified them. Tabitha told her witches to forget about it because the twins would not be able to defeat them. Of course, she didn't know that Kaleigh was with them.

Kaleigh was impressed by how far the girls had come with their magic. The two of them were doing things that Kaleigh had never seen before. She was starting to think they would have been fine without the extra help.

"Wow, you girls have done a lot of work since coming here. I don't feel like I have anything left to teach you, but you may have things to teach me." As they walked back to the packhouse, Kaleigh put an arm around each of them.

"Mom, how long with you be staying with us?" Brandie was feeling a little homesick since her family arrived. She was hoping they would be staying for a while.

"We decided we'd stay for this fight and the next one. I know this one will be nothing compared to the battle ahead, but that's why we want to be here with you through it all. Do you think you can tolerate your family for that long?" Kaleigh smiled at them. She had missed them more than she was letting on.

Kaleigh knew Dominick had been feeling their absence the most. He had been like a little kid on Christmas when it was time to leave for Montana. Dillion hadn't been much better. The twins were definitely grandpa and daddy's girls. Both girls squealed with excitement at their mother's words.

"We've missed you, mom." Jasmine said as she hugged her mom tighter.

Tabitha didn't let the other witches know, but she was worried about all the power they were feeling all of a sudden. She knew it had to be coming from the twins, but how did they get an extra surge of energy?

She thought about taking another trip to the pack to check it out for herself, but she knew they had most likely put a spell around the grounds now that she had shown her hand. Tabitha didn't care. She could defeat them with her hands tied behind her back.

She was thinking about the best way to bring the twins back to the cave to bait their mother. Tabitha knew Kaleigh would do anything to protect her daughters, so she had to make it look like their life depended on her coming.

She was planning to kill them all once they were under one roof and she had the stones, but she would leave that detail out. Tabitha had to devise a way to transport the stones because a witch with an unpure heart would die from one touch of the sacred stone.

"Tabitha?" Marian walked toward her with caution. Besides Clara, Tabitha had muted three other witches for speaking against her.

"What do you want? Can't you see I'm busy here?" Tabitha yelled at the witch who dared to bother her.

"I came because some of the witches are nervous about all the energy we have been feeling. They're talking about leaving before the fight." Tabitha was furious. Why did she constantly have to prove to these incompetent fools that she knew what she was doing?

"Tell those that want to leave to come and see me. If they're not in here within the next two minutes, you will receive the punishment on their behalf."

Marian quickly left the cave to round up the witches. She knew Tabitha would be angry because it wasn't just a few witches but all of them. Marian wanted to leave too.

She wasn't an idiot. Marian knew the Emerald Stone witches were too powerful for the small Black Sphere coven. The two of them could take down thousands of witches, but Black Sphere only had around a hundred.

Marian went out and told the witches that Tabitha wanted to see them all. She was hoping when Tabitha realized how many wanted to leave; she would change her mind about the fight and save it for another day.

Tabitha heard the witches coming in behind her, and she turned around. She was surprised because it looked like all the witches were cramming into the cave. She had assumed it would only be a few.

"What is this I hear about you having doubts about being able to beat the Emerald Stone twins?" Tabitha stopped to see if anyone would have the nerve to answer her.

"We can feel their power from here, and it will get stronger the closer we get to them. They'll kill us all." One of the witches in the back spoke, but Tabitha couldn't see who the fool was.

"There are only two of them, but over a hundred of us. If you don't like those odds, then you will die. Not by the hand of an Emerald Stone witch, but by the hand of your High Priestess. So again, who wants to leave? Go ahead and come forward so I can put you out of your miserable existence."

Just like Tabitha figured, none of them came forward because they were all cowards. She waved them away so they would leave the cave so she could return to her plans. Tonight was the full moon, and tonight the stones would be hers.

The others watched in fascination as the three Emerald Stone witches practiced their magic. Even the others were affected by the amount of power the witches were emitting, but they couldn't move.

They knew seeing the three of them together in this way was something they wouldn't want to miss. The others also knew that the being would want a full report on what they witnessed.

After the Emerald Stone witches were done, the others went to the Black Sphere's cave to see their plans. From what they saw, everything was falling apart in front of them.

The others agreed with the witches that wanted to leave. It seems that the Emerald Stone witches would have no issue taking the Black Sphere down. Especially with the arrival of the twin's mother.

When the being heard all the news from the others, he rolled around in glee. Even though he was planning on killing the Emerald Stone witches, he enjoyed hearing about their power. He was hoping that they took out the Black Sphere quickly.

After he learned that Kaleigh had arrived and would be fighting alongside the twins, he wished he could go to the mortal world to watch. All he would need is some popcorn.

The being was glad that this little reprieve kept him occupied while waiting for his turn to go after them. It was pretty entertaining seeing what the others saw. They would all be his soon enough, and then the power of three would be his.
