Chapter 29 - Talk with Dominick
Dominick stared at Kaleigh in disbelief after telling him about her talk with the Moon Goddess. He had never heard of anyone actually talking to the Moon Goddess. He and Ash were still processing everything Kaleigh told them about Skylar’s new abilities. They were proud of their mates; however, they were also nervous about what evil was coming for Skylar to need magic separate from Kaleigh. Dominick knew that Kaleigh was not telling him everything, but he also understood that was how it had to be for now.

“So, what do we do now, Kaleigh? I know you have a plan, and I also know that you can’t tell me every piece of it. What do we start with today?” Dominick wanted to get ready for these witches so he and Kaleigh could get on with their lives.

“The first thing I will do is place the protection spell on the pack. It will only work to a point, but it will be better than nothing. It will also help alert us when the witch from Dark Sphere gets here looking for me. While I am doing that, I need you to contact Lenny to see if he and Allie can come back early. They are an essential piece of the plan, and I would like to have time to prepare them. Also, when they get here, I need to talk with Allie. She does not know I am a hybrid, and I know she will be upset. I want to be able to talk to her before anyone else says anything to her.” Kaleigh felt bad because Allie was like a sister to her.

“Okay, Kaleigh, I will do whatever you need. Why don’t we take a quick shower so we can get started on everything else? After we get done, I will call Lenny while you do the spell, and then I want you to tell me what you can about the plan.” Dominick pulled Kaleigh against him and gave her a deep kiss. He was glad that they had marked each other, but he would like to enjoy it.

“Alright, Dom, but no funny business, we have too much to do today. We can have our fun tonight. After the stressful day, we will have, we will need something to blow off steam.” Kaleigh wanted to spend the day in bed with Dominick, but they had too many responsibilities today.

Dominick gave Kaleigh one last kiss before helping her get out of bed. They showered quickly together, even though it was hard for them not to get carried away. After they were dressed, he left Kaleigh in the bedroom to do the spell, and he grabbed his cell phone to call Lenny. Lenny and Allie were due to come back in a few days anyway, so he hoped they wouldn’t mind cutting their honeymoon a little short.

Dominick’s conversation with Lenny was quick; he said they had no problem coming back early, especially if the pack was in trouble. Dominick was careful not to reveal too much because Kaleigh wanted to talk to Allie first. Lenny said they would catch the first flight out of Hawaii. After he got off the phone, Dominick went to the kitchen to get him and Kaleigh some breakfast. He figured they could eat in their bedroom this morning while they talked.

Dominick mindlinked his parents to tell them about Kaleigh doing the spell and Lenny coming back early. As he was on his way back up to their room, he felt something wash over him. He assumed that was the protection spell from Kaleigh. He felt more connected to her than ever now that they had marked each other.
When he got to the bedroom door, he listened but didn’t hear anything, so he quietly opened the door and looked in. Kaleigh was sitting in one of the chairs, deep in thought. His heart still got all fluttery when he looked at her and realized this beautiful woman was all his. Dominick walked up to her and sat the tray of food down on the table before leaning down to kiss her. Kaleigh responded by wrapping her arms around his neck and holding him close.
“What was that for Dom?” Kaleigh asked quietly when they separated.

“That was because I love you. I brought breakfast up here so we can talk while we eat. I spoke to Lenny; he and Allie will catch the next flight home. I didn’t tell him anything about you directly so you could talk to Allie first.” Dominick sat down in the chair next to Kaleigh’s.

“Thanks, Dom. I love you too. I finished the spell. I can feel myself getting stronger because the spells are not making me as tired as they used to. I also placed another spell on Amber so her wolf could talk to Skylar if needed without Amber knowing. While we are eating, I will tell you some parts of the plan, specifically your job. Just remember that I am telling you what I can because no one must know everything so each person can do their job without any interference.” Dominick didn’t like being kept in the dark, but he wouldn’t be the one to jeopardize the safety of his mate or pack.

“Alright, Kaleigh, I will listen to you and not bombard you with questions.” They started eating, and Kaleigh thought about where she should start. Kaleigh decided to stick to the facts and tell him just what he needed to know to complete his tasks.

“As you know, Dominick the Dark Sphere witches, specifically the High Priestess Brielle, is looking for me. She does not know who I am or where I am, but the witch she has looking for me will be here within a week or two. Brielle does not care about me living or dying; she wants my stone more than anything else. It will give her the power to rule all that is good and evil. I cannot let that happen. So when they wage war on us to get it, we all will have important parts to play in this to keep as many of our pack safe as possible.” Kaleigh stopped to take a deep breath and see how Dominick was processing everything.

“Okay, Kaleigh, I am all ears on what I need to do.” Dominick was scared, not for himself but for his mate. He knew that some of what she was keeping to herself he would most likely fight against, but if he didn’t know what it was, then there was nothing he could do about it.

“Dominick, part of the plan to beat these witches you will not like. I will have to let them kidnap me and take me to Brielle.” Dominick’s eyes opened in fear. There was no way that he was going to let that happen.

“No, Kaleigh, absolutely not. You will not be taken to her; she will kill you.” He knew he sounded like a crazed man, but he didn’t care. There was no way he would let that witch get her hands on Kaleigh.

“Dominick, there is no other way to beat them because while she has me, she will be focused only on me and the stone. This will give you and the others the chance to help take them down. I don’t know Brielle personally, but I know that being a High Priestess, she thinks she is above all others. She will not think that a mere wolfpack will succeed in taking her down. So what I need you to do is lead the pack into the battle. While I am with Brielle, Skylar will be able to mindlink Ash, giving you the information you need to get through past the blocks she may have in place. Skylar can cast spells herself now, both pure and black magic. So she can fight fire with fire, so to speak. It will not be safe for me to mindlink you, but Skylar can without being detected.”

Kaleigh watched Dominick’s face go through multiple emotions. She could tell he was trying to hold himself back from letting Ash take over. Kaleigh stayed quiet while he processed everything she had said. His face finally relaxed a little, and he met her gaze.

“Kaleigh, what is Brielle going to be doing to you while you are with her that you will not be able to mindlink me?” Dominick knew she had probably left out that detail on purpose, but he wanted to know.

“Dominick, it is better that you do not know the details, but I will be okay. I just need you to focus on Skylar’s instructions. Also, I will not have my stone with me. I will be giving it to another for safekeeping who will bring it to me when it is time. I cannot tell you yet who will have it for your safety and theirs, but when you find out, it will be time for you to bring that person to me so we can defeat Brielle and end the Dark Sphere.” Kaleigh did not want to tell Dominick that she may not make it out of this alive because she would not be able to fight Brielle without the stone.

“Kaleigh, as long as it means getting you out of her clutches alive, I will do whatever necessary.” Kaleigh had to look away, afraid that he would be able to see her fear. Dominick noticed she would not meet his eyes.

*“Dominick, I think our mate is hiding more than just some details. I am worried that she may not be as safe as she is trying to convince us she will be.”* Dominick agreed with Ash as he watched Kaleigh.
