Chapter 64 - Round Two
Josephine was furious. She had expected the first set of witches to be killed, but she had hoped they would have at least been able to kill some of the wolves and bears. From what she could tell, the other side had no casualties yet.

Josephine assumed Kaleigh had placed a spell on the pack protecting them from black magic. That may have worked for the first fight, but the second fight would be more difficult. Josephine held her hand up, letting them know it was almost time for the next bunch to go in.

She was ready for her turn but needed some of the warriors to be eliminated first. Josephine wasn't ready to die, not at the hands of a fleabag wolf or bear. She would kill them all once she had the stone. She cackled as she got ready to do her war scream again.

Dominick and Vince stayed closer to the packhouse than last time. They knew the next witches would be a little tougher to kill. When they heard the high-pitched scream again, they got ready.

The witches that came through the forest had impressive numbers, almost double the first set. That didn't deter the warriors, though. They were determined to kill them all.

The black magic witches fanned out as they headed into the fight. They planned to try and surround the warriors and together place a spell to paralyze them all.

As they were ready to start their spell, they felt a heaviness come over them and couldn't lift their arms or move their legs. The witches were confused until they saw the pure magic witches emerging from the forest. They had used the black magic witches' focus on the warriors to their advantage while surrounding them.

The warriors watched for Veronica to give the okay, then attacked. With the witches unable to move, they were sitting ducks. They wasted no time and quickly killed the witches before they got their power back. The other witches that were part of the second wave watched in horror from the forest.

They wanted to turn around and leave but knew Josephine was waiting on the other side, and they weren't prepared to face her yet. They all decided to try to attack the warriors and stay away from the pure magic witches.

The warriors were waiting for them and had their own secret weapons. As the witches ran toward them, hundreds of werebears in grizzly form came out of the forest, running behind them. The witches were terrified, and before they could even think about using magic, they were running for their lives.

Noah was among those in grizzly form and went from witch to witch ripping out their throats. He wanted to end these witches once and for all. Noah was worried about his mate being out there when the next round of witches came with Josephine. He trusted Kaleigh and knew she would do everything possible to protect everyone.

As Noah moved on to the next witch, he noticed something was moving in the forest beyond the fighting. After killing the witch, he slowly made his way to where he saw the movement. Noah noticed that rogues were out there trying to sneak in to help the witches. There were rogue werewolves and werebears.

Noah mindlinked his fellow werebears and told the ones in human form to let the wolves know. The rogues wouldn't be good as fighters, but there were enough of them to distract the warriors so the witches could get the upper hand.

Noah mindlinked his bears again, telling the ones fighting the witches to continue and the others lying in wait to help with the rogues. He received a mindlink that Dominick was sending some of the wolves to help.

Noah went to the first rogue he saw and tried to attack. The rogue bear moved quickly, and before Noah could react, the rogue was on his back, trying to bite his throat. Noah quickly rolled on the ground back and forth, using his large size to make the rogue lose his grip.

When Noah stood back up, he noticed something different about these rogues. While the rogue took a minute to come off the ground, Noah sniffed him.

Werebears had a better sense of smell than most other shifters, and he could smell magic on these rogues. Noah quickly mindlinked the others, letting them know, and asked them to bring some of the pure magic witches with them.

Noah was tired of playing these games with these black magic witches. Whether the rogues had spells on them or not, it was time for them to die. Noah ran for the rogue, quickly jumped on him with his claws out, and scratched him down his back.

When the rogued growled out in pain, Noah went for his throat and ripped it out. When he finished with that one, he went to the next. He continued through them, killing as many as he could. The other warriors had arrived and were helping. Some of the witches also came and assisted the warriors by binding the spells on the rogues. This allowed the warriors to kill them quickly.

Once the rogues were dead, Noah looked around to see if their side had any casualties. Unfortunately, they didn't get away unscathed. Noah counted four werewolves and three werebears dead. He didn't know any of them, but even one was too many.

Noah was pissed. He ran toward the fight with the witches and jumped on the first one he saw, tearing her head clean off her shoulders. He saw red as he went from one to another, killing them without a second thought.

Dominick watched as Noah killed witch after witch without stopping. He had fought with Noah before and knew he was a force to be reckoned with. Dominick fought off another witch and noticed that their numbers were dwindling. It would be time for Kaleigh and the twins to appear soon.

Dominick had received a mindlink from those fighting the rogues telling him they had lost some lives. He'd been expecting it, but it didn't make it any easier. Dominick and Vince continued fighting to keep any witches from entering the packhouse.

Kaleigh watched the fighting from the window and saw the witches were losing again. She knew it was almost time for them to leave the packhouse and she was terrified. Kaleigh wanted to get this over with so they could hopefully enjoy their pups and not have to continue preparing for another fight.

Kaleigh saw less than twenty witches now, so she decided it was time to go before Josephine made her move. She looked toward Alannah, who was holding Jasmine, and Celeste, who was holding Brandie.

"Okay, ladies, it's time for us to do our part. Let's sneak out the back and head to our spots. If either of you feels it's getting too dangerous, let me know so we can send help. Since you can't mindlink us, Celeste, use your high-pitched whistling to alert me. Are you both ready?" Kaleigh asked the two women as she kissed each of her daughters, who stared up at her with their emerald green eyes.

"Yes, Kaleigh, we're ready. Let's end those evil witches once and for all. Hopefully, this will send a message to the rest of the black magic witches to stay away. They're taking away from my time of spoiling my grandpups." Alannah snuggled Jasmine in her arms.

"Alright, let's go." The three women went out the back after making sure no one was there waiting on them.

Alannah headed to the left and crept around the packhouse at the forest's edge. She had Jasmine hidden in her arms and constantly looked around to ensure they were alone. When she got to the area she was supposed to be, she turned toward the fighting and waited for the signal.

Celeste went to the right when she left out of the packhouse. She held Brandie tightly, hoping no one would see them. Celeste passed a few warriors as she went, but they knew the plan, so they pretended not to see her so as not to draw attention to the pup. When Celeste reached her spot, she nervously waited.

Kaleigh went straight out the back of the packhouse and walked into the forest to complete the triangle. As she made her way, she passed multiple warriors heading back to the packhouse to help with the remaining witches. They nodded at her but said nothing.

Kaleigh wore a scarf over her head to keep her hair hidden from anyone looking for her. She was the only one with reddish hair, which would make her a target. When Kaleigh got to her spot, she turned back toward the fighting. She waited until she was sure it was time to begin.

Kaleigh mindlinked Dominick at the packhouse, telling him it was time for the signal. Dominick replied right away, telling her he would do it now. Kaleigh waited for it, and when she heard the loud howling, she began chanting. Alannah and Celeste began chanting at well while holding the twins.

Kaleigh, Jasmine, and Brandies eyes all turned bright green. Their stones were also glowing brightly as the chanting continued.

The bright green light didn't go unnoticed by Josephine. She smiled and started sneaking through the forest. She expected Kaleigh to try a spell, so she would stop her while she was in the middle of it and take her stone.

Josephine started heading for the green light closest to her and waited for the right moment to show herself. She stood behind the chanting woman and smiled as she crept forward to grab her from behind. She was almost in reach when Josephine stopped gasping in surprise at what she saw.
