Chapter 15 - Surprises

Jasmine and Brandie had placed spells on the pack grounds and all the pack members. So when the witches of the Black Sphere came into their territory, they were aware. Even though they didn't come onto the pack grounds, the twins could feel the presence of black magic.

They knew it wouldn't be long before Tabitha and her coven attacked. Jasmine, Brandie, and Gavin all trained with the rest of the pack to teach them how to fight the witches. They reminded them that the witches might have magic, but they didn't have fighting skills.

Brandie called their mother to see if she had any suggestions, and Kaleigh told them to place spells on the weapons the warriors would use. That was very effective against both Brielle and Josephine. Jasmine and Brandie did as their mother said.

Jasmine felt like most black magic witches; the Black Sphere probably absorbed power from the moon. So she predicted they would attack on the next full moon, thinking it would give them a better chance to win.

The pack was ready for them no matter when they attacked because they had been preparing for the being. In comparison, the Black Sphere was like a practice round for them.

It was two days until the full moon, and the pack guards had doubled to surround the grouds. Even though there was a spell in place, it would let the twins know when someone breaches, but it wouldn't necessarily keep them out.

If only one or two witches came, the spell would be strong enough, but from the black magic they could feel in the air, they think the number is closer to a hundred witches. Brandie and Jasmine neither one were worried. From how Tabitha acted, they could tell she wasn't as refined as Brielle.

"Brandie, do you think we've done everything we can to prepare for them? I don't want to forget anything and have them slip through the cracks." Jasmine and Brandie were in the Alpha office going over their plans.

"I think so, Jasmine. We already know from what Tabitha told us that they plan to take us to get our stones. We can use our wolves to help us. This fight will give us good practice for the next battle. How is Aaron holding up? Titus is being overly protective. I'm surprised he's not in here now hovering." Brandie grinned at Jasmine. She actually loved how Titus had been with her.

"Aaron has been the same way. I'm okay with it because we've been able to spend a lot more time together. Dakota, on the other hand, has been getting irritated with the overprotectiveness." The twins were laughing when they heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." Jasmine said, thinking that it was probably their mates.

"Surprise." Kaleigh and Dominick burst in the door with smiles.

"Mom, dad, what are you guys doing here?" The girls ran over to their parents and did one big group hug.

"We wanted to come and help you with the Black Sphere. We've been in this situation before, and there's no way we're letting Brielle's daughter hurt ours." Kaleigh said as she kissed each of the twins.

"So girls, how are your mates treating you?" Dominick smiled at them; they looked like they were glowing with happiness. What more could a dad want?

"They've been great. The pack has treated us well. When we first got here, they acted like we were royalty because of you two. I can't wait for you to meet everyone. You guys are like a legend." Jasmine smiled at her parents. She hadn't realized how much she'd missed them until she saw them.

"Did someone say something about mates?" Aaron asked as he and Titus popped their heads in and smiled at the group.

"Did you girls like your surprise?" Titus asked as he made a beeline for Brandie.

"You knew they were coming?" She asked him.

"Yes, they called Aaron a few days ago to see if we had room to accommodate some visitors. They didn't come alone either." Titus' eyes were shining, which made Brandie who else was there.

"What do you mean? Who else did you bring?" Kaleigh and Dominick winked at them but wouldn't say.

"Let's go downstairs, and you can see for yourself." Kaleigh took Jasmine and Brandie's hands and led them to the door. The three men followed behind. All of them were stunned at how much the women looked alike. Kaleigh didn't look like their mother, more like a slightly older sister.

When they got downstairs, Kaleigh took them to the dining hall, where a group of people was waiting for them. Brandie and Jasmine both started crying when they saw who was there. Their grandparents, Dillon and Alannah, had come and were the first to greet them.

Their brothers Logan and Chase were there. Celeste and Noah had come and had brought Hannah and Logan with them. Even Felicia and Gage had come. The twins were delighted to have so many of their family members here to help them.

"You all have really surprised us. Thank you for coming, and welcome to Fallen Eagle." Jasmine smiled at them all as they came up to hug her and Brandie one by one.

"You girls look so much like your mother that I had to do a double take. What is it with you redheads always attracting these evil witches?" Felicia hugged them both tightly. She had always loved them like they were her own.

"Aunt, Lecia, you know they're just jealous of how awesome we are. How were you able to come all this way and leave your pack?" Brandie asked her aunt while she hugged her and her mate Gage.

"Well, when your mom and dad told us what was happening, Gage said it was our duty to help. So his Beta is taking care of the pack until we go back." Gage smiled at the twins. He had always had a soft spot for them. When they visited their pack up north, he had seen how bright they were and knew they would do something extraordinary when they were older.

"Thanks, uncle Gage." Brandie turned toward Jasmine to see what they should do now.

"Would everyone like a tour, or do you want to settle into your rooms?" Jasmine asked, acting like the great Luna she was. They all decided to put their things in their rooms first and the tour afterward.

When the group reconvened in the dining hall, Jasmine and Brandie started showing them around the packhouse before going outside. When they got outside, it was a spectacle, just like they knew it would be with their parents there. Everyone wanted to meet the famous Kaleigh and Dominick.

They both took it in stride and answered the Fallen Eagle pack members' questions. Kaleigh and Dominick were pleased to hear all the compliments about their daughters. It was clear everyone loved them.

Dominick noticed a young man hanging back that looked curious about them but nervous about approaching. He made his way over to the young man and introduced himself.

"Hello. I'm Dominick Alpha of White Raven and Jasmine and Brandie's father." Dominick held his hand out to Gavin while he stared at the large man in front of him with wide eyes.

Gavin had heard the stories about Kaleigh and Dominick, but he never thought he would meet them in person. He took Dominick's hand and shook it while still trying to find his voice.

"It's nice to meet you, Alpha Dominick. I'm Gavin. I was a rogue who recently joined the pack. Jasmine and Brandie have been helping me with my magic because I'm a hybrid werewolf warlock." Dominick was surprised by Gavin. He spoke well for a former rogue.

"That's nice to hear, Gavin. I'm sure you'll be a big help with the witches coming. Let me introduce you to my family." Gavin was surprised at how down-to-Earth Dominick was. He looked like he was the size of a mountain but had an air of calmness about him.

When they reached the rest of the family, Dominick introduced Gavin, and everyone was very welcoming. Gavin paused suddenly in the middle of the introductions and took a whiff of the air. There was a scent he had never smelled before. It smelled fresh, like honeydew mixed with roses.

Gavin looked around to find the source of the scent, and his eyes collided with an angel. She was petite with waist-length golden brown hair and bright blue eyes. Her eyes were staring at him with a gleam that embarrassed him.

Gavin was frozen in place as the young woman walked up to him. He knew she was his mate, but he'd never thought he would find his mate. Yet, here she was, the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen.

"My name is Hannah. What's yours?" She cocked her head to one side with a smile. Celeste and Noah had raised their daughter to have a strong will. When she saw that her mate wasn't coming to her, she decided to go to him. He was handsome with his blonde hair and hazel eyes.

"I'm Gavin." He blushed a little bit, and Hannah smiled. It's a good thing she's assertive because he seemed almost scared to look at her.

"Well, Gavin, it looks like you're my mate unless you plan on rejecting me." She put her hand on her hip and stared at him with a raised eyebrow. He could hear some of the others chuckling, making him blush more.

"No, Hannah, I don't plan on rejecting you." Gavin gave her a shy smile, and she leaped into his arms, almost knocking him down. He wrapped his arms around her and buried his nose in her hair, breathing in her delicious scent.

"Hannah dear, would you like to introduce us to your mate?" Celeste and Noah walked up to their daughter smiling. They were proud of her. She wasn't scared to go after what she wanted.

"Mom, dad, this is my mate, Gavin." She sniffed him and then looked up into his eyes. "Are you a werewolf?"

"I'm a hybrid werewolf and warlock." Gavin looked at her parents and saw where Hannah took after each of them.

"You're a hybrid? So am I. I'm a hybrid werebear and witch." Hannah jumped up in down in excitement. "We have to be the coolest mates ever, Gavin."

Everyone around her started laughing at Hannah's statement. She was a delightful young woman who everyone loved. Jasmine and Brandie walked up to the new mates.

"Hannah, did you just claim our friend Gavin?" Jasmine and Brandie had grown up with Hannah, so she was like a sister to them.

"Yes, can you believe I finally found my mate, and that means I get to live here with my two favorite cousins?" Hannah hugged the twins happily. She had missed them since they left.

As the introductions were over, everyone decided to go inside and eat dinner. Tomorrow, they would prepare the newcomers for the Black Sphere. Gavin followed behind while Hannah chatted with the twins. He felt someone next to him and looked up. It was Hannah's dad.

"Hi, Gavin. I know how you feel right now being a rogue newly accepted into a pack. I was the same way. I was a rogue until Dominick and Kaleigh accepted me into their pack, and I met my mate, Celeste. Hannah will help you get comfortable, trust me."

Noah patted his daughter's mate on the back. He recognized the look on his face when they first met. You don't feel like you belong anywhere when you're a rogue. Celeste and the White Raven Pack had quickly changed that for him. He knew the twins and Hannah would do the same for Gavin. Noah had a good feeling about the young man.
