Chapter 20 - The Night Before
It was the night before the new moon, and everyone was spending time with their loved ones in preparation for the battle against the being. No one was exactly sure what to expect, but they knew it wouldn't be as easy as the fight against the Black Sphere.
Hannah and Gavin spent time with Celest and Noah outside, walking the pack grounds. After the fight, Gavin was going to go to White Raven with Hannah to help her pack her things, and then they would return to Fallen Eagle.
Gavin was still getting used to having a mate. He wanted to take things slow with Hannah to give them time to get to know each other, so they hadn't marked each other yet. Even though Hannah was ready to jump into bed with Gavin, he'd been holding off, wanting to wait until they marked each other.
Alannah, Dillon, Felicia, and Gage were together at a table in the dining hall. They were trying to ease each other's nervousness over the fight. Felicia was worried about her parents because they weren't as young as they used to be. She didn't have the nerve to say that to them, though.
They were all excited about the twin's pups and were hoping to still be at Fallen Eagle when they both gave birth. Dillon had told Alannah that he wouldn't mind staying at Fallen Eagle for a while to help Brandie and Jasmine with their new pups. He was still a sucker for little ones and was thinking of everything he could do for them.
Kaleigh and Dominick were in the Alpha office with the twins and their mates. Brandie and Jasmine had baby bumps that were more prominent than usual due to having twins. Aaron and Titus were fussing over them non-stop, worried that something would happen to their mates or pups. Even though their daughters would be witches, everyone still referred to them as pups.

"Are you sure there is no way to do this without putting you and your sister in danger?" Titus asked Brandie nervously. He was on the verge of kidnapping her and hiding Brandie away until this was over. However, he knew that wasn't fair when she, with the help of Jasmine and Kaleigh, would be able to win this battle.
"I'm sure, Titus. We'll be fine, the Moon Goddess guaranteed it, but I'm worried about everyone else. She said there would be losses, and I don't want anyone to lose their life because of us." Brandie clutched Titus' hand in hers with fear.
"Brandie, you, Jasmine, and the rest of your family have been training everyone for some time now. You two are the ones that are in a delicate position." Titus looked over at Dominick and Kaleigh when they started laughing.
"Sorry, Titus, but if we have learned anything about the twins, it's that they're fighters. I was the same way with Kaleigh when we fought Josephine. I didn't want her or the twins anywhere near the fighting, but it all worked out in the end." Dominick understood where the young man was coming from, but he knew there was nothing that would keep his daughters from doing whatever they could to protect the pack.
Titus knew what Dominick said was true, but that didn't calm his fear. Brandie laid her head on his shoulder when he wrapped his arm around her. He loved his mate more than words could describe, and the thought of anything happening to her hurt worse than being dipped in a bath of silver.
Aaron watched the back and forth between his beta and Alpha Dominick. He'd repeatedly had this conversation with Jasmine over the past months, but it got him nowhere. He knew he had to trust Jasmine and her family; they were the only hope of ending the being, so they didn't have much choice.
"Does anyone know what tricks the being will bring to this fight?" Aaron asked, trying to break the tension a little in the room.
"No, but we have to assume that whatever he does, it won't be of this world. Mom, where do you suggest we wait for him? I don't think we should just be lounging around the pack house waiting for all hell to break loose." Jasmine, with her wittiness, always had a way of saying things to loosen everyone up in stressful situations.
"I think we should have everyone spread out with witches from our pack and yours stationed with the warriors. The three of us need to be in the center of everyone and form a triangle. This will allow us to equally contribute our energy to take down the being. Dominick, Aaron, and Titus, we will need you as anchors. You will need to stand a few feet behind each of us, and no matter what happens or what you see, don't intervene. Trying to help or stop us is what will get people killed." Kaleigh looked around at the three men, who nodded.
Kaleigh knew the three men would be unwilling to leave the three of them anyway. She figured it was better to give them a job rather than have them distracted with worry. She looked at her daughters and winked; they were well aware of what their mom was doing.
Kaleigh, Jasmine, and Brandie had already placed more spells on the pack grounds and on the weapons of the warriors. However, knowing what would be effective against whatever evil the being brought with him was difficult.
The group broke up when it was late to spend time alone with their mates. Tomorrow they would rest as best as possible until the being and his forces arrived. It was a night of turmoil as they knew some of their family and friends may not make it out alive. They would just need to do what they could to keep the casualties to a minimum.

The being was almost dancing with glee. It was less than twenty-four hours until the attack. His enforcers were hungry for the blood of the werewolf community. He had trained them, and they knew they were to kill everyone they came into contact with, except the Emerald Stone witches.
The being had the spot for them ready; there was a throne for each of them. Of course, it wasn't a throne anyone would want because it was meant to cause the most intense pain they could endure. He clapped his hands together as he checked the final preparations.
Once he had those stones and the witches, everything would be over. The being would rule all the worlds, and then he could kill the one he wanted to kill the most, the devil. Yes, the devil gave him some magical enforcers to help with the fight, but he didn't know that the ultimate goal was to kill him.
Just a few more hours and everything the being ever wanted would be his and his alone. He looked at the enforcers below him and smiled chillily. They are all meant to die in this fight because they would not be coming back to the being's world once the battle is over. When the sunrise comes after the war, they will all perish. The being laughed loudly, sending a chill in the spines of all the enforcers.

Zosia watched below as everyone prepared for the war to end all wars between the worlds. She had faith in her children to do what was necessary to kill the being and those who would attack, but she decided to give them a little extra help.
Zosia called on her acquaintances, the Sun Goddess, the Goddess of Nature, and the God of Earth. Together they sent powers over the Fallen Eagle pack lands and pack members. All of them had children on Earth, and none of them wanted to see the being kill them.
Zosia felt a little better about a successful outcome. She had told the twins that they would conquer the being, but Zosia had done that to give them the strength and courage to do what was necessary.
She also had a little surprise for the twins that would happen during one of the most intricate parts of the fight. Zosia chuckled, knowing that this surprise was the best yet.
