Chapter 55 - Catching a Snake

Dominick stared at Nikki after she said Patrick's name. He and Patrick weren't close because Dominick didn't care for his personality. However, he never thought Patrick was capable of being so despicable. Dominick saw the look of fear in Nikki's eyes and realized he was probably scaring her.

"Nikki, we will take care of Patrick, and you'll never have to deal with him again. Please stay here with Kaleigh while I talk to my parents." Dominick was getting ready to mindlink his mom and dad when Nikki stopped him.

"There's one more thing, Dominick. I saw Patrick following Kaleigh today. It looked like he was going to try to do something to her. That was when I knew I needed to say something. I didn't want anything happening to our future Luna." Nikki looked at Kaleigh shyly.

"Thank you, Nikki. I appreciate you looking out for me." Kaleigh smiled at Nikki and then looked up at Dominick. "Dom, he was one of Amber and Mollies suspects. So we may have just killed two birds with one stone."

Dominick felt heat flood his body and was shaking with fury. To think Patrick could do all of this was something he couldn't comprehend. Dominick was so mad that Ash was the one who had to calm him down before he shifted and killed Patrick.

Kaleigh saw the anger in Dominick and heard the low growl. She knew she had to do something quickly to calm him down. Kaleigh stood up and walked over to Dominick taking his face between her hands.

"Dom, look at me." Kaleigh spoke softly but forcefully. Dominick slowly brought his eyes to Kaleigh.

"I need you to calm down before you do something you'll regret. Go talk to the Alpha and Luna. I'll stay here with Nikki. We need to do this the right way, Dominick." Kaleigh rubbed his cheek with her hand, trying to bring him back to her.

"You're right, Kaleigh. I'll talk to my parents, but after that, we're getting that asshole and throwing him in the dungeon. Patrick won't hurt anyone else in this pack." Dominick had calmed down but wouldn't be happy until he could land a few punches to Patrick's face.

"You know Dominick, if Patrick gets hurt in the process of being taken to the dungeon because he resisted, it would be understandable." Kaleigh winked at him, letting him know he had her blessing to do a little ass-kicking.

Dominick temporarily forgot they weren't alone and grabbed Kaleigh, pulling her to him for a kiss. He dominated her lips with his and slid his tongue into her mouth. Kaleigh responded but was a little hesitant, making him pull back to look at her in question.

Kaleigh slightly nodded her head to the side, and Dominick saw Nikki sitting there looking away with her face bright red. He almost felt like laughing at the girl's embarrassment. Dominick gave Kaleigh another quick kiss.

"I'll see my parents and mindlink you, so you both know what's going on. Don't let anyone in here until I have given the all-clear, okay?" Dominick was not taking any chances that Patrick wouldn't try something in a last-ditch effort.

"Alright, Dom, we'll wait until we hear from you. Be careful." Kaleigh kissed his cheek and then sat back down next to Nikki.

Kaleigh was proud of Nikki and the courage it took for her to tell what happened to her. Kaleigh wanted to make a proposition to her, and she hoped Nikki would accept.

"Nikki, I have something I want to ask you."

"Okay." Nikki was curious as to what Kaleigh was going to ask. Now that she had voiced her concerns, she felt like a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

"As you know, I'll be having twins soon. Taking care of them, plus doing my other duties, will keep me pretty busy. I wanted to see if you'd be willing to be my assistant. I was hoping you could stay here in the packhouse to make it more convenient for you. What do you think?" Kaleigh saw Nikki looking at her with huge eyes.

"You want me to be your assistant? I don't understand. I'm a nobody." Nikki was almost whispering. She couldn't believe Kaleigh wanted her to be her assistant and live in the packhouse. Dare she hope that this could actually happen?

"Nikki, I never want to hear you say you are a nobody. You're a strong, intelligent, and brave girl. I saw how quickly you caught on in training. It also took a lot of courage for you to speak up today. You are the perfect she-wolf to be my assistant. Will you take the job?" Kaleigh saw Nikki's eyes well up with tears.

"Yes, Kaleigh, I'll take the job, and I promise not to let you down." Nikki spoke with confidence, and Kaleigh smiled at her.

"How old are you, Nikki?" Kaleigh asked.

"I'm eighteen."

"I'm nineteen, so we're almost the same age. I think we'll be great friends, Nikki. Thank you for agreeing to work with me." Kaleigh hugged the girl lightly.

Nikki couldn't believe how much a few days could change everything in her life. She had never felt like she belonged anywhere. To have Kaleigh call her a friend meant more to Nikki than Kaleigh would ever know. For the first time in a very long time, Nikki was happy.

Dominick mindlinked his dad as he walked out of his office. His dad responded that he and his mother were in the Alpha's office. Dominick almost ran to the other end of the hall. He didn't even bother knocking when he got to the office door. He just went inside and shut the door loudly.

"What has gotten you upset, son? Is Kaleigh alright?" Alpha Dillon was instantly worried about Dominick's mate and his grandpups.

"Kaleigh is fine, but I need to talk to you. As you know, Kaleigh has been searching for the traitor in our pack, and I believe we have found him. It's Patrick." Dominick saw the shock on both his parents' faces at this revelation.

Dominick went on to tell them everything that Nikki had revealed and how he was a suspect of Mollie and Ambers. As Dominick spoke, he saw his dad getting angrier and angrier.

Alannah was horrified that Patrick tried to rape this girl and wondered how many others he had done this to. She was also upset that he was the traitor that had been sharing information with the black magic witches. He had put everyone in the pack in danger because of his greed.

"Dominick, are you sure? I know no one likes him, and he's an arrogant, greedy man, but to jeopardize the pack is something on a different level." Alpha Dillon couldn't believe that someone in his pack was so selfish.

"Yes, dad, it's him. There's no doubt in my mind. Now, do you want to come with me while I take him to the dungeon? I won't let him have the chance to harm my mate." Dominick was pacing, ready to strangle Patrick.

"We'll both go with you. Alannah, I want you to do a truth spell on Patrick so that he has to tell us the truth when we question him. If he did all that he is accused of, he would try to lie to us. Let's not give him the chance." Alpha Dillon didn't want to waste time.

They left out of the office and headed to Patrick's room. Dillon mindlinked Tom and Lenny to meet them there. They were already waiting by the time the trio got there.

Dominick knocked on the door while Alannah quickly did her spell on Patrick. Ash was trying to keep Dominick from ripping out Patrick's throat when he opened the door with a smile.

"To what do I owe the honor of this visit?" Patrick asked, trying to sound cheerful but failing.

"Patrick, please step into your room. We need to have a conversation with you." Patrick crossed his arms and stayed where he was.

"Alpha, I think I deserve an explanation." Patrick was getting angry. How dare they show up like this? Before the Alpha could answer, Dominick grabbed him by the throat and threw him back into the room.

"When the Alpha tells you to do something, you don't question his actions." Dominick said to Patrick in an icy voice. Tom and Lenny looked at each other, wondering what was going on.

Patrick was holding his throat, trying to catch his breath as he stood up. He was furious that Dominick had thrown him like a rag doll.

"What the hell did you do that for?" Patrick yelled at Dominick.

"You're lucky that's all I did after what you've done." Dominick saw the color drain from Patrick's face.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Patrick choked out, wondering which of his dirty deeds they knew about.

"Sit down, Patrick. We have some questions for you." Alpha Dillon used his Alpha voice on Patrick, not giving him a choice. He sat down on one of the chairs, still looking arrogant.

"Patrick Hinsen of White Raven Pack, you have been accused of the following crimes. Attempted rape of Omega Nikki Poverly, stalking the future Luna Kaleigh Donavan, and being a traitor to your pack by passing information to the black magic witches. How do you plead to these accusations?" They all saw the smirk on Patrick's face falling a little more with each accusation.

Patrick tried to think of a way out of this, but the lies wouldn't come. He felt an overwhelming need, to tell the truth. It was then Patrick realized why the Luna was there. She had placed a truth spell on him. Patrick felt his blood go cold.

"I have nothing to say." Patrick spat out at them. Dominick slammed his fist into Patrick's face with a terrible crunch breaking his nose and possibly a few other facial bones.

"You will talk now, Patrick. You don't have a choice." Dominick wiped the blood that was on his hand on his pants leg.

"Fine, you already know anyway. Yes, I attempted to have sex with the Omega Nikki, she said no, but I told her she didn't have a choice. Just for the record, I would like to add that she used her claws to shred my penis. It took days for it to heal all the way. She is just an Omega, so nobody should care about her anyway." Dominick kicked him as hard as he could in his knee this time, causing Patrick to scream out in pain.

"Everyone in this pack matters, and the fact that you feel they don't is why you're lower than the scum on my shoe." Dominick spit in his face before stepping back.

"Are you planning on continuing to let him do that to me?" Patrick pleaded with the Alpha.

"It looked like you were resisting. What do you think, guys?" Alpha Dillon asked Tom and Lenny, who were disgusted with Patrick's actions.

"Yes, we agree. It looked like he was resisting to us." Lenny spoke for both him and Tom.

"I would continue if I were you, Patrick, or it may look like you tried to escape, and that would put more than just my son on you." Dillon said to Patrick with a smirk.

"Fine, I will finish. I was stalking Kaleigh, intending to kidnap her and take her to Josephine, who is leading the black magic witches. I was also sharing information with Josephine. I told her about Kaleigh being pregnant with twins. She has plans to kill Kaleigh and the twins so she can end the Emerald Stone witches. Josephine was paying me a lot of money to do this for her. You can't blame me. Any of you would do the same for the money she gave me." Patrick missed when the Alpha moved to stand right in front of him.

Alpha Dillon's blood was boiling from what Patrick had said. He grabbed Patrick by the collar and pulled him up to standing.

"You dare sacrifice your future Luna and her pups for your greed. You then dare to say that we would do the same. You're not a werewolf; you're a snake. From this day forward, you will spend the rest of your life in the dungeon. You will get one meal per week of a bologna sandwich and one small cup of water per day until you die." Alpha Dillon lifted Patrick up as far as possible and slammed him to the ground.

Patrick screamed out in pain when he felt his legs break underneath him. No one felt sorry for him. In fact, they'd all like to go ahead and end his miserable life.

Tom and Lenny grabbed Patrick under the arms and started dragging him out of the room. Patrick screamed as they drug him, causing many pack members to come out to see what the commotion was.

Tom and Lenny didn't care if they hurt Patrick more in the process. He deserved everything he got and more. When they got to the dungeon, they snapped a collar made of silver around his neck, with no cloth to cover it. They didn't think it was necessary to ease his pain any. Tom then stood Patrick up while Lenny kicked him in the back, making Patrick fall face-first into the cell before passing out.

The traitor has been found, but the damage he did was unknown. Alpha Dillon knew they had to be even more vigilant than they already were. He will ensure his pack survives this next battle, even if it's the last thing he ever did.
