Chapter 51 - Extra Reinforcements

The weeks since the fight with Dark Sphere and finding out Kaleigh was having twins have gone by quickly. Kaleigh already had a baby bump, and Dr. Galt said she would be giving birth in about two months. Werewolves were not like humans when it came to giving birth; they were only pregnant for three to four months rather than nine.

Kaleigh had been pregnant for one month, and she was feeling it. Carrying twins, she had started showing sooner than most. Skylar told them they were having two girls, but she didn't know if they would be werewolves, witches, or hybrids.

Dominick and Kaleigh didn't care what they were as long as they were healthy and born safely. Everyone had been training hard, preparing for the next battle. Kaleigh was proud of her new pack and had begun getting close to some of the she-wolves, including Amber.

Amber was so thankful to Kaleigh for everything she did for her that she was constantly following her around, trying to help Kaleigh. Amber had been one of the quickest to pick up on the training Kaleigh did with the she-wolves, so when Kaleigh was unavailable, Amber would fill in for her.

Kaleigh was grateful for all the friends she had made, but something was bothering her that she couldn't quite put her finger on. There were times when she felt like someone was watching her, but when she looked around, no one was there. This feeling had made Kaleigh more careful about who she trusted and what information she shared with others.

Alpha Dillon had been the biggest surprise of all. He was so excited about the grand pups that he had taken it upon himself to make a nursery for them. The Alpha was going above and beyond, Kaleigh, at one point, tried to reel him in, but he wasn't having it. He told her to trust him because he was taking care of everything.

Kaleigh smiled as she thought about the Alpha and the changes she had seen in him. When she first met him, she saw him as a strong silent man, somewhat like her uncle Randal. However, since the news of the twins, he has been like a doting father toward Kaleigh. The Alpha walked around with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes.

Even the Luna, Dominick, and Felicia were surprised by his changes. Luna Alannah was just as excited about her granddaughters. She was thinking of everything she and Dillon would be able to do with them after Dominick and Kaleigh took over as Alpha and Luna.

Kaleigh was sitting at the desk in her and Dominick's office taking inventory of everyone in the pack. She tracked their strengths and weaknesses to know where they would be most useful in the fight to decrease casualties. She heard a knock on the door, startling her.

"Come in." Kaleigh said to whoever was there. To her surprise, it was Celeste and Noah. They had been staying around the pack to help prepare for the fight and had been a huge help with training.

"Hi, Kaleigh. Can we have a few minutes of your time?" Celeste asked with a smile.

Kaleigh smiled back at the couple. She couldn't believe how cute they were together. Noah was so protective of Celeste and never let her out of his sight. Celeste had been learning her new skills with pure magic and was adjusting to being someone's mate.

"Absolutely. What can I do for you?" Kaleigh indicated they should sit in the chairs opposite her.

"We have some good news, actually. Noah has been in contact with some of the werebears, and word has spread about our upcoming fight. They have agreed to come and help if you are open to having some extra werebears around." Celeste and Noah smiled at each other before looking back at Kaleigh.

"Really? They are willing to help us? Of course, they can stay here. I will let the Alpha and Dominick know. We will take all the extra help we can get. You two have been fantastic with training the pack. I'm so appreciative of your support and expertise." The couple looked at Kaleigh and then back at each other. Kaleigh saw Celeste nod to Noah.

"We have something else to share as well. I have been hesitant to let Noah mark me as his mate. However, we have decided to go ahead with it. We are unsure how it will affect me because I am not a shifter. Noah said when shifters mark humans, they turn into a shifter as well, but as you know, it's different for witches. Some of us become hybrids when marked, and others stay witches." Kaleigh knew exactly what Celeste was talking about. Her mother was a witch and had been marked by a werewolf but had not become a hybrid.

"That's terrific news. Congratulations to you both. Please let me know if there is anything you need from me. When should we expect the reinforcements to arrive?" Kaleigh couldn't wait to tell Dominick they would have extra help. Werebears were a force to be reckoned with.

"My contact said they should be here within a week. I'm not exactly sure how many are coming, but I suspect at least a couple hundred. You know most werebears are not fond of witches. After I explained to them how you saved me and about my beautiful mate, I've been able to get them to change their minds a little." Noah squeezed Celeste's hand.

"That's more than we could have hoped for. Thank you, Noah, for reaching out to them. We'll make sure we're prepared when they get here and show them that all witches aren't bad." Kaleigh smiled at them as they stood up.

"Thank you, Kaleigh. We will let you get back to work now. We are headed to the training facility to train another group. Let us know if there is anything you need from us." Noah spoke quietly. He was still adjusting to being around so many others. Before Brielle had gotten her claws on him, he had been a rogue and spent most of his time alone.

"You're welcome. Have fun at training." Kaleigh waved at the couple as they walked out of the office. She then mindlinked Dominick to see where he was. He responded that he was on his way to their office.

Kaleigh stood up and looked out the window. It was a bright sunny day, and everything was a radiant green as far as she could see. Kaleigh heard the door open, and she turned around with a smile toward her mate.

"I have some good news, Dominick." Before she could say anything else, he walked up to her, wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her. Dominick was kissing her so aggressively that she could barely keep up with him. Kaleigh became a little light-headed and weak in the knees from the kiss. When Dominick pulled back, he chuckled.

"I missed you, Kaleigh." Dominick whispered and gave her another light kiss.

"You have only been away for an hour, but I missed you too." Kaleigh wrapped her arms around him and breathed in his calming scent.

"What did you need to tell me?" Dominick continued holding onto Kaleigh and stroking her hair.

"I just met with Celeste and Noah. They informed me that a couple hundred werebears were on their way here to help with the battle." Dominick looked at Kaleigh in shock. After seeing Noah fight, he knew having that many werebears would be incredibly helpful.

"That's great news, Kaleigh. How about we check out the nursery and let my parents know about the help we're getting?" Kaleigh nodded as they walked out of the office.

"Will your dad let us see the nursery? He has been very territorial about it." Kaleigh laughed when she thought about Alpha Dillon.

"Actually, he wants us to see it. He says it's done." Kaleigh couldn't believe it. She already knew it was going to be over the top.

The Alpha and Luna were waiting for them at the nursery door when they got there. They both were wearing bright smiles. Kaleigh laughed when she saw the pink streamers and decorations all over the door. She hadn't even seen the room and knew it would be too much.

"Hi, kids, are you ready to see the twins' nursery?" Alpha Dillon could hardly contain his excitement.

"Yes, Alpha, we're ready." The Alpha's excitement was infectious, and Kaleigh smiled at him warmly. Dillon opened the door so Kaleigh and Dominick could walk in.

Kaleigh gasped when she saw the inside. It was beautiful. There were two white cribs with pink sheets, white blankets, and little stuffed wolves in the corner. They both had mobiles that had little wolves and witches hanging from them. The walls were painted white, with a mural of flowers in every color on one of the walls.

A white rocking chair was sitting in one corner. The bay window was filled with every stuffed animal and doll the girls could ever want. There was a huge doll house in another corner and toys everywhere. Some the twins probably wouldn't be able to play with for a couple of years.

Kaleigh couldn't believe everything she was seeing. She and Dominick were speechless at how much work the Alpha did in such a short time.

"So, what do you think?" Alpha Dillon was bursting at the seams. He still hadn't shown them the special gift he had made for the twins.

"It's beautiful and much more than I could have imagined." Kaleigh spoke softly with tears in her eyes as she continued trying to take it all in.

"Dad, how did you do all of this?" Dominick looked at his dad in disbelief.

"I have my resources to get things done quickly. I have one more thing to show you. I had something made for the girls. It's my hope that they look like my beautiful daughter-in-law, so I had these made for them." Dillon opened up the closet that Kaleigh hadn't looked in yet. She saw it was filled with clothes, but the Alpha pulled two boxes out and handed one to her and one to Dominick.

Kaleigh looked at the white boxes and then at Dillon, who was smiling. She and Dominick opened the boxes at the same time. Kaleigh was once again speechless.

Inside each box was a porcelain doll. They had Kaleigh's strawberry blonde hair and green eyes. Their complexion had a slight golden tan. Both dolls wore white dresses and had a gold chain around their necks with a small emerald stone attached. They were beautiful.

"Alpha, these are remarkable and exactly how I have pictured the twins looking." Kaleigh lightly touched the doll she was holding.

"I thought they may have a tan with Dominick being their dad, but we are hopeful they have your hair and eyes, Kaleigh. You have brought so much happiness and light to this packhouse and into this old man's life." Kaleigh walked over to the Alpha and hugged him. She then did the same to the Luna.

"Thank you both." Kaleigh looked back to the dolls and then to Dominick, who had tears in his eyes. She leaned over and took his hand. Kaleigh knew he was just as dumbfounded as she was.

"Now we have some news for you. I met with Celeste and Noah. There will be around two hundred werebears coming to help us with the battle. They should be here within a week." This time Alpha Dillon was the speechless one.

"Kaleigh, are you serious? Werebears usually don't help out other species. Why did they agree to this?" Luna Alannah asked, just as shocked as her mate.

"Noah said he explained the situation and how I helped him. Werebears don't like witches, especially black magic ones, so they agreed to come and fight. It should help us get the upper hand on them; they won't be expecting it. I have one favor to ask. Can we keep this information to ourselves? I still feel that someone is watching me, and I would like more time to investigate before we share our secrets with the entire pack."

The other three nodded, agreeing that something was amiss. They also knew that Kaleigh would be the best one to get to the bottom of it.

As they left the nursery, a snake was in the shadows, watching them, upset that he had been unable to hear their conversation. There would have been too many witnesses if he had been lurking about. He laughed as he walked away, thinking no one would expect him of working for Josephine. Not until the battle, anyway, when he reveals all.
