Chapter 60 - The Moon Goddess Returns
The White Raven Pack was busy preparing for the fight that was coming. From the information they'd gotten from Patrick, they knew about the rogue werewolves Josephine was using to prepare the witches. However, the thing with rogues was they weren't the best fighters. It would be no comparison to a warrior pack that had been training with witches.

Kaleigh and Dominick were busy with their pups and training when they could. Kaleigh was thankful for her wolf healing because she was back to herself with no aftereffects of the birth.

Jasmine and Brandie were a week old and looked more like Kaleigh except for the lightly tanned skin. Their eyes were turning green, and their hair was the same strawberry blonde. The entire pack was in love with the two girls, so they never had a problem finding babysitters.

The Alpha and Luna had just come in to spend some time with the pups giving Kaleigh and Dominick time to rest. As they walked to their bedroom, they practically held each other up from exhaustion. They both fell onto the bed wrapped in each other's arms and quickly fell asleep.

Kaleigh knew she was asleep, but she felt like she was floating. She smiled, thinking she was in a dream and just enjoyed the sight below, looking over the mountains and treetops. Just as she got used to the floating, she suddenly came to a stop on top of the highest mountain.

Kaleigh looked around, remembering the last time she was there. It was when the Moon Goddess told her about Skylar's magic and Celeste. Kaleigh looked around and saw the Moon Goddess, Zosia.

"Hello, Kaleigh. It's nice to see you again. I'm sorry I had to disturb you when you were trying to rest." Kaleigh was speechless for a minute staring at Zosia. Just like last time, her blue dress flowed around her, making her look like she was floating.

"Hello, Moon Goddess. Please don't apologize because a visit from you is a blessing." Kaleigh slightly bowed to Zosia in respect.

"Kaleigh, I won't keep you long. I wanted to give you some information to help you prepare for the evil ones. Josephine will be attacking at the next full moon. She has many witches helping her, so it will be a more challenging fight than the last one. You have help in your pack that has been brought to you right in time." Zosia smiled at Kaleigh.

"Yes, Moon Goddess, we have the good witches, the werebears, and those from Pale Moon Pack helping us."

"Those are all great resources, but they are not what you need to defeat the number of witches coming your way. I'm talking about a resource that you don't realize." Kaleigh looked at Zosia in confusion. What had they missed?

"I don't understand, Moon Goddess. What other resource do we have?"

"Your newborn pups Kaleigh. I know you have been anxious to see what they will be, but I'm here to tell you that they are both hybrids like you. They will get their wolves in a few years, but they are already witches. Typically I'm not involved with witches, but because they are hybrids, it allows me to know things about them as well." Zosia gave Kaleigh time to process what she said.

"I still don't understand how Jasmine and Brandie can help. They are newborn pups." Kaleigh couldn't see what the girls could do other than looking cute.

"Kaleigh, as I said, your daughters are already Emerald Stone witches. I know you have the last known sacred stone; however, when you return to your bedroom, two stones will be waiting for you. One for each of your daughters. They're set in gold charms like the one you wear. I want you to put them on your daughters as soon as you return. They will immediately know the knowledge of their power."

"Moon Goddess, they're babies. Even with the stones and the knowledge, what can they do? I don't understand." Kaleigh was getting fearful. Her girls were not supposed to be anywhere near the fighting. From what the Moon Goddess had been hinting about, it sounded like they would be in the middle of it.

"Kaleigh, your daughters are needed in the fight to end the witches who are coming. The three of you together will be the only thing that can defeat them. You will have to form a triangle around the pack grounds. Luna Alannah will need to hold one of the twins while Celeste holds the other. They must be the ones with the twins because their magic can help keep them safe while you are performing the spell to eliminate the evil ones."

Kaleigh felt cold fear wash over her. Knowing her pups would be needed to win was terrible enough, but knowing they would be separated from her was unimaginable. She trusted Alannah and Celeste with her daughters, but during a battle was something entirely different.

"How can I focus on the spell if I'm worried about Jasmine and Brandie being hurt or killed?" Kaleigh whispered to Zosia.

"Kaleigh, you have to find the strength to focus. Josephine will be sending the witches in three different groups. The first wave is the weakest group. Your pack can take care of them. The second wave will be a little stronger but will still be defeated. You, Jasmine, and Brandie will be needed for the third wave, which includes Josephine. As soon as the second wave is almost down, you make the triangle and start the chanting. Josephine will not expect it, and when she and the rest of them enter the triangle, they will be trapped. They will lose their magical powers and be eliminated. It's crucial you time it out correctly. Go with your gut Kaleigh. You'll know when the time is right." Zosia watched as Kaleigh took in the details.

"I'll take care of them, Moon Goddess. We won't let you down. Thank you for all the information you have given me." Kaleigh was ready to get back home so she could see her pups. Knowing they had a role in this mess made her miss them terribly.

"Kaleigh, I have one more piece of information to share with you. A girl is headed your way, and she should arrive at your packhouse within the next day or two. She's a human but well aware of the supernatural world. Her name is Lydia, and she was a forced servant of Josephines. She escaped before Josephine could kill her and wants to share information with you. Listen to her, Kaleigh. She is a lost girl that has nowhere to go." Zosia smiled at Kaleigh, knowing she would take care of Lydia.

"I will, Moon Goddess. Thank you." After that, Kaleigh swiftly flew through the air, and within minutes she was back in bed. She didn't know how the Moon Goddess did that, but it was definitely an experience she wouldn't forget.

She jumped up, looking for the stones, as soon as she opened her eyes. Kaleigh spotted them right away on the bedside table. There were two gold chains that looked just like hers with round charms. Kaleigh opened each one, and they had sacred emerald stones in them, just like Zosia had said.

"Kaleigh, what's wrong?" Dominick sleepily asked behind her.

"Nothing Dom, everything is perfect." Kaleigh turned around and quickly shared her conversation with the Moon Goddess.

After she was done, they were both wide awake and running to the nursery to see Brandie and Jasmine. When they opened the door, the Luna and Alpha looked at them, startled. Kaleigh shared her story once more as she put the stones on the girls. As each stone was placed on them, the stone and their eyes glowed bright green for a few seconds before returning to normal.

The four adults in the room were mesmerized. The twins had serene looks on their faces and simultaneously shut their eyes and went to sleep. Even though they were only a week old, they suddenly seemed much older to their parents and grandparents. Kaleigh felt a little better, knowing there was a way to end this once and for all.

Lydia was riding with the third truck driver in four days. She didn't have much further to go, but she was nervous. She was scared that the pack would kill her before she even had a chance to explain why she was there.

Lydia had been lucky to find nice men to let her ride. None of them wanted anything except some cash. The man she was with now didn't speak much English, which she preferred. She didn't want to talk when she was scared for her life.

Lydia didn't know what she would do after meeting with Kaleigh, but if she lived through this, she thought about staying in California. Maybe she could get a job in Sacramento or San Francisco. Lydia was thinking positively. After her time with Josephine, anything else would be better than that.

She felt a calmness wash over her as the freedom of being on her own sunk in. Lydia had always been forced to live somewhere or work somewhere and never had a choice. She was in the foster system since the age of five and passed around to so many houses that she lost count.

As soon as Lydia was out of the system, someone who worked for Josephine kidnapped her and forced her to work in the mansion. She had been there for a year, trying to stay under the radar. Now that she was free, she felt a little lost and very lonely. Lydia decided she would see if Kaleigh had any suggestions for her. All she needed was a little guidance.
