Chapter 23 - Double Wedding
It had been a few weeks since the Fallen Eagle had defeated the being and his army of enforcers. They had moved on, and now the entire pack was getting ready for the wedding of their two favorite witches, Brandie and Jasmine.
Aaron and Titus knew that the pack loved their mates almost more than they did the two of them. The men couldn't blame them because the twins were badass and could take down anything that came their way.
The members of White Raven remained at Fallen Eagle so they could attend the wedding. Jasmine and Brandie were floating around like they were on cloud nine. They hadn't had much time to prepare, but they didn't care; it was important to them to have the wedding before they gave birth to their pups.
The brides were in the Alpha office getting ready while the grooms were in the Beta office. Both grooms were wearing dark grey suits with teal neckties. The twins decided to be a little unconventional because they didn't want a big fancy wedding. They weren't wearing wedding gowns; they wore simple short-sleeved silk floor-length off-white dresses with teal ribbons woven into the bodice. Instead of veils, their mates gave them small white gold crowns to wear.
The ceremony would be held outside in the large open area near the pack house. The couples decided not to write their vows because they knew how they felt about each other and didn't need to say it in front of everyone. Dillon was officiating the wedding and was supportive of them repeating the standard wedding vows if that's what they wanted.
Chase was the ring bearer, Hannah was the maid of honor, and Logan was the best man. Dominick would walk his daughters down the aisle, and he couldn't be more proud of them.
As Dominick stared at the twins in their dresses, preparing to be handed over to their mates, he felt tears in his eyes. When he looked at them, he still saw little girls. No matter how old they were, they would always be his pups.
"Dad, why are you crying?" Brandie walked over to her dad and put her arms around him. He was a big man but was gentle as a teddy bear with those he loved.
"I feel like I'm losing my little girls. I know you both are adults with mates and are having your own pups, but to me, you'll always be my little pups. I love you girls, but it's hard to turn you over to other men to take care of you. I'm your dad, and that's my job." The twins started crying with their dad. He would always be their hero, the first man they ever loved.
"Dad, you're not losing us; you're gaining two sons and four grandpups. We love you, dad." Jasmine said to him as they hugged him while they all three cried.
"What's going on in here with all this crying? Today's a happy day." Kaleigh asked, knowing Dominick was having difficulty handing over his daughters. She walked over and joined the group hug. She felt choked up herself, but she was happy for the twins.
"These aren't sad tears so much as loving tears. We love you, mom." Brandie smiled at her mom through her tears. The twin's bellies were so big that a group hug was a little tricky, but they made it work.
"Alright, it's time to go. Your mates are getting anxious as if you two won't show up to the alter. I think the only thing that would keep that from happening would be if you were to go into labor." The pups were due any time now.
"Even if we go into labor, we're going to have our wedding; those pups better stay put until we're done." Everyone laughed as Jasmine rubbed her hand over her large belly like she was chastising her unborn pups.
The group headed out the door and down the steps to the entryway. Kaleigh walked out with Chase as he carried the rings. Hannah and Logan followed them. When the music changed to the wedding march Dominick with Brandie holding his left arm and Jasmine on his right, led them out the door and toward the alter.
On either side of the aisle were white chairs for their guests. The alter was a large arch that was covered in white and teal roses. It was simple yet beautiful and elegant.
Titus and Aaron were blown away when they saw their mates walking toward them. They were beautiful with their long hair blowing in the breeze and the crowns on their heads; they looked like queens. They also noticed Dominick was holding their arms tightly, and when they reached the alter, he was hesitant to place the twins' hands into their mates.
Dillon had the couples repeat the vows, and they committed themselves to each other until death parts them. Afterward, everyone went into the dining hall for the buffet dinner and dancing. The twins danced with their mates, and then they took turns dancing with Dominick and Dillon.
The newlyweds sat with their food at a table with Dominick and Kaleigh. As they all ate, they were in good spirits and talking about the little pups that would be coming into the world soon. Kaleigh and Dominick needed to get back to White Raven, but they were going to stay one more week in hopes that they would be there when the twins went into labor.
Alannah and Dillon had already decided that they were staying for at least a few months to lend their hands to help with the new pups. Both of them were thoroughly enjoying their retirement and were happy to be able to spoil their great-grand pups.
Titus stared at his bride with nothing but love in his eyes. He had never thought his mate would be such a beautiful person inside and out. She was the most amazing woman he had ever met, and she was all his. Brandie saw Titus staring at her, and she smiled.
"What are you staring at, Titus?" Brandie leaned toward him and whispered.
"I'm staring at my gorgeous mate who has made me the luckiest man in the entire world. Brandie, I love you so much that sometimes I think I might explode. You have no idea how happy you make me. You're my mate, wife, best friend, and the love of my life." Titus leaned over and kissed her, not caring if the entire dining hall was looking at them.
Aaron watched Titus and Brandie with a smile. He and his best friend were very lucky to have such remarkable mates. Aaron looked over at Jasmine, who was laughing at something her mother said. Jasmine was an excellent Luna who everyone loved and respected. As Alpha, he could not have asked the Moon Goddess for a better she-wolf to be by his side.
While Aaron was thinking about the pups that would be born soon, he noticed that almost simultaneously, the twins leaned forward, clutching their stomachs. He immediately knelt next to Jasmine.
"What's wrong, Jasmine? Is it something with the pups?" Aaron looked at her large belly like he could tell if something was wrong.
"Aaron, I think I'm going into labor." Jasmine leaned over again as another contraction hit.
"Jasmine, I'm in labor too." Brandie said between contractions.
Everyone at the table jumped up, moving quickly to the twins. Aaron and Titus lifted their mates into their arms and carried them to the pack hospital. Jasmine and Brandie were laughing even as they contracted. They couldn't believe they were having their pups on their wedding day.
Once they were at the hospital, the twins were quickly whisked away with their mates into two delivery rooms. The lobby and outside the hospital were filled with pack members as they all waited for the pups.
Dominick and Kaleigh found seats in the waiting room, and they held hands, hoping for a smooth delivery for both sets of twins. Kaleigh remembered the scare when she had Jasmine and Brandie. Based on the look on Dominick's face, he was thinking about that as well.
"Dom, it will be okay. Our daughters are very strong and will have their pups without any problems. They have been through so much, and nothing can stop them now." Kaleigh smiled at Dominick, and he hugged her. Both continued to worry that all would not be as easy as they hoped.
