Him From The Restaurant
And so it happens that we are all now in the Royal Jet, once again heading for Human Town.
Esis traveled with us after the insistence of Ivor, who was looking for male company. So our schedule has changed, after Magda finishes with us, she does not travel back to the Palace with me. She stays behind with her mate and then leaves right away in the direction of Midnight Moon. Magda is elated but also fearful of the wolves in Esis's pack. A human Luna is not exactly what werewolves are hell excited about.
My hands are on my now big round belly.
The pups are remarkably quiet today, making me breathe a sigh of relief. Their constant movements often make me tired. And I can't really use that right now. I wonder what awaits me in Human Town; Magda is being very secretive about our visit. But I'm damn sure that something drastic is about to happen and therefore she could not tell me beforehand about it. Well, I trust her. Although I wish she had told me more about her findings after digging into my past. My only hold is that I will know everything in a few weeks, that is my sole comfort now.
Marleen, the doctor, assured me yesterday afternoon that all is well with the pups.
They are growing like crazy, but she stressed that they will not be born until the sixth month. Alidya was disappointed to hear this, but Ralph was soon able to cheer her up by teasing her with old stories. He was clearly trying to distract her. Later, when I had a moment alone with Marleen, she noted that multiple Lycan births are often premature because those babies grow faster and are stronger to help themselves into the world. But that would not be the case with my pups.
For a moment, I felt as if her comments were a stab in the dark.
But I decided to ignore her, the doctor is aware that Ralph can become very aggressive at just the slightest disrespect toward me. And when my fiance re-entered the room after finishing a phone call, his eyes were spitting fire. I am sure he heard Marleen's words with his Lycan hearing. There's a good chance I last saw this Marleen yesterday.
"Where are we staying this time?"
Alidya's words startle me out of my musings. Questioningly I looked at Ivor; he and Eric were in charge of our accommodations. "Don't worry. Of course, my family won't go into an impersonal hotel while I own a villa with more bedrooms than my mate and I can use," Esis enters. Ivor frowns, and I know this is not the deal with Ralph. My mate wasn't too happy about the prospect of us staying with this couple last time either. Ooohh well, I have no problem with it and looking at Magda's face, this arrangement works out well with her plans.
Glowering, she looks at her mate without engaging in the conversation. Ever since we came aboard, she hasn't spoken a word to me. But I don't worry about that either, knowing she just wants to keep the focus away from the two of us.
When the pilot announces that we still have about fifteen minutes to reach Human Town, Alidya comes to sit next to me. "Are you feeling okay, are the pups quiet?" she inquires. "Otherwise, you can sleep for an hour before we go to the designer's store," she suggests. My eyes go to Magda who still keeps her face averted. "We can go to the store right away. I'm so curious and can't wait to see how all came out," I tell her. "Is Ivor taking care of our luggage?" I ask again. Alidya nods and beckons the man.
When we land, the cars are already waiting to transport us to our destination.
With Esis' help, I manage to descend the Jet's stairs. And when I'm down, Magda takes me to the waiting vehicle by the hand. Esis is in the escort car this time with Ivor and I am here with Magda and Alidya. "Saray, what happened last time Eric took you straight to the Jet?" Alidya suddenly asks. "Ralph gave me an incoherent story as if you were in danger. Had someone done something to you then?" she asks. I shake my head in the negative. "Well, I didn't see any danger. Eric came out of nowhere and took me with him," I indicate. "Probably on Ralph's orders. You know how possessive he can be".
Disapprovingly, the older woman presses her lips together.
"Stay near us this time, don't leave," she commands. "Then his argument can't go anywhere. Ralph made it seem like there was a man in the building who wanted to harm you". Slowly we approach the fashion house. The building exudes success and wealth, and the robes sold there are not for the average purse. Alidya loves glitz, so I am not surprised that she chose these designers.
Once inside, an assistant took us to a private room.
Then the assistants come one by one with the garments being entertained. We inspected them and they seem perfectly fitted. "Saray, try these on. I want to see it on your body so I can judge it properly. It doesn't really seem your style," Magda remarks at one point. Strangely, I look at her; all dresses are sized to fit, right? Something in her voice warns me not to contradict her. So I grab the dress she holds out and walk down the hallway to the fitting room. Suddenly, I stop in my tracks. I sniff the air a few times, there is a familiar sweet scent around here.
I sniff around a few more times, it almost makes me want more of it like a drunken sailor.
"Rain. How are you?" I hear a male voice behind me. Stiffened, I stay in place until I have enough strength to turn around.
And then I see him standing there.
The man from the restaurant.
Jasper, as the waitress, mentioned his name.
"Jasper," I whisper and a shiver of pleasure passes through my body....
