All Happy

Nervously I stand in front of the mirror and look at my effigy.
My wide dress falls beautifully over my swollen belly. Yes, I think I am ready for this big moment. On the bed are the presents I wrapped beautifully with special paper. I have not told Jasper what I am planning; I want to wait and see how it all turns out first. In case I succeed, the surprise will make him so happy. But I dare not guess what it will mean if everything falls apart.
I hold my hopes high and trust that Jasper's family also wants to see him happy.
There is no chance that he and I will break up, at worst, I will have to ask that we at least be civil with each other. We all owe it to the pups, they are entitled to a healthy living environment. Elena now enters the room. "Saray, are you ready? I just checked, and they are in the garden at this moment. You really should hurry," she portends me. She helps me carry the packages and I waddle out of the room beside her. As we stand in the elevator, she looks at me expectantly. "You're taking a big chance here. You can't remember what happened between you before. How do you know you're doing the right thing?" she asks me waveringly.
I sigh. "The fact that they feel embarrassed to meet me, already indicates that the blame for this disrupted relationship must not have been mine alone," I reply thoughtfully. "Besides, I think it's easier to start over without looking back at the past. So for me, it becomes easier, hence I dare to take the first step". We arrive at the main floor and step out of the packhouse. We walk to the back of the building and there I see them sitting on a bench. The girl is about my age, Ruth told me her name is Louise.
Her hair is the same blond-brown as Jasper's; from her physics, you can tell she must be a warrior. But just as she is blond, her mother is black-haired. I know that her and Jasper's father was a blond man. My mate told me that the former Alpha suddenly died shortly after I left the pack.
Next to Louise sits Jasper's mother Clea. Uncomfortably, I take a few steps toward them. When I am close, they turn their heads in my direction.
The shock of seeing them again is great.
They stare at me with big eyes at first and slowly stand to their feet. In their eyes, I see the shock turn into vigilance and discomfort. "Luna Clea, Louise," I stammer uncertainly. I cleared my throat, it became an awkward situation. I take another and step in their direction. "I've come to greet you. I didn't meet you when I arrived but I still hope we can start with a clean slate, be a better family than we were before." I look at Jasper's mother expectantly, her reaction will make all the difference. "Rain!" exclaims Louise now and rushes forward. She takes my hands in hers. "How glad I am that you came. We wanted to meet you but feared you wouldn't want to see us after everything that had happened before."
Her mother joins us now. "Jasper told us that you are expecting twins," she says emotionally. "Finally, I get grandchildren. And I treated you so badly because I was impatient. Can you forgive us, Rain? I haven't been the best mother-in-law you expected from me. I made your life miserable in the warehouse by making accusations that were actually unnecessary. And you never disrespected me; you accepted everything and never complained". I extend my hand to her and thankfully, she grabs it and hugs me. "It's all in the past. In fact, I don't even remember it. Jasper must have told you I was suffering from memory loss. Maybe we can turn that into a blessing and build a new relationship, a closer family and a happier home," I suggest. "Now that we are all moving to the Kingdom, maybe we can create a warm home for the pups."
With a pounding heart, I wait for their response.
Uncertainly, I look at them. All I want is to give Jasper the happiness of a reunited family that can live together in peace. Jasper's mother and sister both now take me in their arms at the same time. "That's what we want, too. I want to be there for my grandchildren, always showing them how much I love them. Thank you, Rain, for coming to us," she says as tears stream down her cheeks. We cling to each other, and I breathe a sigh of relief. Mission accomplished.
Elena clears her throat and we all look at her now.
"The presents," she reminds me, chuckling. All three of us now walk toward her with our arms around each other. Elena hands me the gifts I give to my mother-in-law and Louise. "It's a small gift. I hope you will accept it as a peace offering". After drying our tears of joy, we walk to the packhouse.
Ruth and Elena hosted a special dinner for us there. As we all stand at the table, Ruth enters with Jasper and John at her side. My mate can't believe his eyes. "Ooohh goodness, how glad I am that you guys you have settled your differences. You are all important in my life and my pups need you to be at peace with each other. To be a family that gets along well. This is the best surprise I've ever had," he states, pleasedly. After kissing his mother on the forehead, he sits down. We all follow after him. All kinds of delicious dishes are served, and hungry as I always am, I let it all go down well.
"Luna, Louise, would you both like to eat in the dining room with us from today on? I'm sure Jasper will really like that," I ask. Thankfully they agreed, my day couldn't be better. ....
