But then I remember the Alpha's words.
He spent two days with Saray a few months ago before she disappeared again. After that, he didn't see her, although he searched everywhere for his mate. An incredible suspicion comes to me. Although Saray feels safe and comfortable with Ralph, the two slept separately in my parents' house. Also, in the Palace, Saray has her own apartment. This is unusual for a couple that's about to marry. Esis will never ever get permission from me to sleep separately. Over my dead body, I swear. I want so much sex, he can't escape staying next to me every night.
But there is a distinct lack of sexuality between Ralph and Saray.
Would Saray .... are the babies ..... I dare not even think about it! Ralph is so proud of becoming a father. But if my presumptions are correct, then he knows he can never be the father of the twins. Does Ralph know more and is deliberately depriving Saray of her past? In doing so, he is robbing Alpha Jasper of his children. And from the looks of the man, he would be thrilled to have pups from Saray. The thought of Ralph's deception chills me. Now I begin to wonder what Esis knows about this case. He told me that he met Saray when she was already Ralph's fiancé. The three had met at one of his clubs. No, Esis cannot be involved in all this. But as soon as we get into conversation, I will question him about his relationship with the King.
"Alpha, a question," I interrupt the man sitting in his chair in thought.
"You said you were with your mate for two days. When exactly was that? Can you remember the period?" I ask softly. The man stares at me first and then mentions the day and month. "I was so happy to have found her again. She had made contact with her sister who still lived in the pack. Ruth wanted to study here but was not eligible for a scholarship and did not accept my help. But she had to fill out the clearing form and that's how I found out where Rain was," he explained. "But my wolf Jax was disappointed by Rain's action and refused to go after her. So I devised a plan and partnered with the company she worked for. At the first meeting in the company, I met her again and I was convinced that everything would be fine".
Saray has a sister!!!
It's getting more intriguing by the minute. But now I have no time left to look for her yet. Asking questions about this sister will surely look suspicious to the Alpha. I can barely keep my face in shape. But then I think about the time frame the Alpha mentioned. Saray is almost three months pregnant now, halfway through her pregnancy. And the date the Alpha said.......... OMG! That fits exactly! My heart is buzzing in my throat right now, I wonder if I'm doing a good job here by keeping my suspicions from the man. This is too crazy for words! Saray doesn't even know that her pups are not Ralph's and she is still about to marry the man and have him crown her his Queen. My gut tells me that Ralph knows all about this. The King knows that Saray is actually already mated, has a sister and that the pups she is carrying are not his. That bastard!!!
"Alpha, I'm sorry about your mate. You sound like you really love her. I pray you to find her alive," I whisper to the man. He nods, clears his throat and sits up. "There are many clues that my Rain is still alive. The woman at the mall, nobody offered us a body and now her scent with you," he sighs. "But I have to get back to my pack now, I've been gone too long. But I will definitely come back here, I have to keep looking, I can't give up on her." Damn! Thumbs up for a mate like this man! As long as he doesn't give up, there is hope for them. And when I have visited his pack, I will be more than happy to bring him the good news.
"When will you return to your pack, Alpha? I'm here on an assignment but would love to see your pack," I asked pleadingly. "You see, I'm dead nervous about going to Midnight Moon. So much is going through me. Now that I've met you, I want to take this opportunity to prepare for my visit to Esis's pack. I will know what to expect and can then be more confident when I arrive there". The Alpha stares at me in surprise at first but then bursts into laughter. "No problem if Esis agrees with that too. I will call and notify him that his Luna is with me," he indicates. This puts me in an awkward position. "Alpha, could you leave that to me?" I ask now with puppy eyes. "I actually want to come along incognito and only observe the atmosphere. So not as a Luna but friend to you and Jace". He has to think about that for a moment.

"That's not a problem but I do want you to let Esis know you're in Storm Forest," he persists. "We are friends until our Luna. I don't want any trouble with Midnight Moon". I nod and turn to Jace who is listening silently all the while. "You would rent me an apartment?" I ask him meaningfully. He laughs. "Of course not anymore. Now that you are coming with us and have become our friend, you will stay free of charge. We are honored to have you as our guest". I smile gratefully at him and the Alpha. "By the way, we leave tomorrow afternoon. Get a good night's sleep. We're going by my Jet," the Alpha declares.
After a greeting, I walk with Jace out of the office.
We walk down some corridors until we stop at a door. "This is your room. I'm coming in with you to check that everything is okay". I nod again and we both enter. There is a small kitchen and dining area, a sitting room and then a spacious bedroom plus walk-in closet. When Jace opens the door to the bathroom, my mouth falls open with surprise. It looks so modern and warm, I hadn't thought this was possible for such a small apartment. "This is great, Jace. Thank you so much," I state, grateful. We walk back into the sitting room and Jace sits down on a chair.
"Magda, you can't fool me. You know something about Rain. Your eyes and aura betrayed you. Jasper couldn't sense that because of his grief, but I do," he says softly, to my great horror.
"I suggest you confide in me. Why don't you just tell me where to find Rain and why you're coming with us to Storm Forest?"....
