Who Is Your Luna?

Again Magda's POV

With the car windows open, I race down the highway in the Maserati.
The wind flows delightfully into the car, blowing up my long locks. The dense woods rush past me. With every mile I travel, I drive closer to my goal, Conselho Construction. My mission is clear, I must find the man who holds the key to Saray's past. In this company, I need to find someone who knows something about her private life. And then hope that this Jasper's name is mentioned.
I think back to last night.
When Saray told her story, it struck me in the heart. She is desperate; her need is more significant than mine. I have an entire life and a future, but Saray has only a present that is fragile without her past. And I am in a position to help her and will. This trip will also distract me from my personal concerns, so it serves two different solutions. I pray to God that I find enough information that will be useful to my friend. Because she is right, marrying Ralph without knowing if she had a lover in her past could turn out to be nasty if she does find her memory later.
After our conversation, we decided to look up Eric and Ralph.
But to our amazement, we saw Ivor standing there when we opened the room door. Red-faced, he cleared his throat. "Luna, you said you had a letter for me from Elena," he reminded me. As if agreed, Saray and I grinned at him, the man was clearly anxious to know what my little sister had written to him. I walked back into the room, took out the requested envelope and handed it to the impatiently waiting man. He grabbed it and disappeared in an instant.
And then Saray told me that Ivor is Elena's destined mate, but that he must wait until she is eighteen to be allowed to woo her. In the meantime, they will build a solid friendship. Yes, Ivor is definitely a good match. He is disciplined and civilized, and Esis always talks about him as someone he likes to do business with. And Saray also respects him tremendously. Guess I am privileged to have a brother-in-law like him.
Suddenly I hear my stomach grumble.
When I left the palace, I only ate some yogurt with strawberries and two boiled eggs. It was too early for me to have a heavy breakfast. Now I've been on the road for more than two hours with one more to go, I definitely need more to build up my energy. I see an On The Run fast food takeout in the distance, there's where I'm going to try my luck. Two minutes later I step into the eatery, the smell of seasoned fried chicken stalks me, and I start to salivate. I reach into my bag and pull out two credit cards. One Esis gave me and the other is from Saray's. Of course, Saray's is the best option right now, if I use Esis', I'll have to explain what I'm doing on this side of the world. Nope, privacy, please.
As I place the other card back in the bag, I suddenly bump into a back.
Alarmed, I look up just as a man turns toward me. When he sees me, a smile appears on his face. "Hope you drive that nice car with more attention, beauty," he jokes. "This collision won't cost you anything, but with the car can be quite costly." His laughter is so infectious that I smile myself. "Yeah, I ... I'm more careful in traffic," I stammer, staring into the man's blue eyes. He is handsome and robustly built, yet not like Esis. He extends a hand now. "I'm Jace. I'm so hungry I could eat this whole shop," he sighs. "Beauty, what's your name?" Without taking my eyes off him, I answer him. "Magda," I whisper uncertainly. In my life I have hardly met any strange men. There was Robin and, besides him, several drug dealers I didn't really see or talk to. My father always kept his family in a bomb shelter when strangers approached our island. We really only left our home because he trusted Saray and wanted the best for Elena.
So this Jace confuses me for a moment. But I recover quickly.
"I'm only here for a little while. Was hungry and still have an hour-long trip to go, so thought I'd quickly grab something here," I answer him a little more steadily now. "Are you from the area?" He shakes his head in the negative. "No, I'm here with two friends. They stayed behind in Human Town while I searched nearby for someone here," he explains. Hmmm, he too is looking for someone, but I don't believe we are looking out for the same person. So there is no point in telling him about my mission. "I'm going to Human Town. I have some business there," I explain to the man coyly.

It is now our turn to place an order.
The man orders a lot of meat and refuses the fries. Isn't it strange? I know some people who always put a lot of meat on their plates. And they are werewolves. My eyes fly to the man's face. Saray told me that werewolf high rankings are usually very handsome and athletically built. They are made by the Moon Goddess with more care, she then laughed. Jace, here in front of me is a werewolf and a high ranking, I now conclude. Why do I suddenly meet so many werewolves in my life, I suddenly wonder. When it's my turn, I notice that I am no longer in the mood for the fries and apple pie I used to order when I was with Esis. My mouth fills with water at the sight of all the chicken pieces on the warmers. I can't resist the temptation and I too order a bucket of spicy chicken.
As I turn around, I see Jace waiting for me.
"Shall we take a table by the window?" he asks as a matter of course that we will sit together. "The view of the forest relaxes me a lot." Hmmm, another indication that I'm dealing with a werewolf here. I nod at him and we take a seat in a two-seater. "I see you're wearing a wedding ring and a mark," Jace begins, chewing on a large piece. "And there's an Alpha scent on you. That makes you a Luna. From which pack?" This surprises me for a moment, I hadn't counted on being so recognizable. But then I consider that werewolves run on instincts. "Midnight Moon. I'm Alpha Esis' wife but I haven't been to the pack yet," I say, staring at my plate.
Jace looks up delighted.
"Has Alpha Esis found his mate already? That's good news. Now he and Jasper are both mated!" he exclaims delightedly. Jasper! That's the name I'm looking for. Now only the person has to match the description Saray gave me. "Who is Jasper?" I ask quasi uninterested. "My Alpha. I'm his Beta and our pack is Storm Forest," he responds proudly.
My heart pounds like crazy.
Is this a coincidence? Or did the Moon Goddess of the werewolves make us meet? I look up, straight into his eyes. "And what is your Luna's name?" I ask with bated breath.
"Rain."...
