112. Valerio
Veera walked back and fourth in her room. There was no way she was going to sleep tonight.
She missed Ares greatly and she couldn’t wait to be in his arms as soon as she got of this damn island with Rita and Emerald. She prayed for them to be alive and well because if they weren’t, she was going to bring hell to Orlov the bastard that took them.
She couldn’t exactly use the window to escape since there was a massive waterfall right outside her cave like window. She had no intentions of jumping out at a great height.
So Veera decided to use the other door.
Which was locked.
She plucked out a little pin from her hair and got to work. Like a lock smith, Veera managed to open the room with ease. She tiptoed out of her room like pink panther and silently walked down the hallway.
She spotted two guards and got an attention of one.
He came by, just about to say something to her but Veera quickly sucker punched him and wrestled him. All her fighting lessons paid off and the guy fell limp to the floor. She quickly dragged him back to the room, and stripped him of his red robe.
“What are you doing?”
Veera froze going on her fighting stance looking back at Valerio who’d caught her, red handed.
“I’m going to find where you’re keeping my friends.”
“You know I can easily stop you right?”
He moved quite fast and pushed her towards the wall. Veera fell down, but she got up again, however Valerio gripped her wrists and pinned her towards the wall, freezing her hands and wrist in ice.
Veera moaned out in pain feeling the sudden icy coolness chill her fingers and bones.
The guard came too and Valerio slapped the robe back to him.
“Get out, and tell no one about what just happened.” He ordered.
“Yes my lord!” The guard scurried away, in fear. Veera noticed that she was up against a powerful Apsara afterall.
“You shouldn’t have tried to escape like that Veera. You could have put yourself and I in a lot of danger.” Valerio closed the door behind him and looked at Veera, who was in an icy situation. He was quite charmed by her feistiness.
“Danger?” she asked a little puzzled.
“My duty is to make sure that you don’t escape. If you do, then the boss here will have my head.”
Veera scoffed.
“I really don’t care.” She snapped.
Valerio grinned back loving the way she looked at him in a heated manner. He grabbed her jaw and closed the space between her and came close. She was quite beautiful up close and Valerio could easily have his way with her. However, he was not the type of guy who easily took advantage of a girl who didn’t have feelings for him. Veera went to close her eyes but Valerio dodged her parted lips and whispered in her ear.
“I know you do.”
He moved away and turned on his heel, ready to lock her back in her room. But Veera wouldn’t allow him to walk away. Not after pinning her like a popsicle to the wall. A little part of her was scared of him, after all she was dealing with the snowman himself.
She groaned, healing herself through the ice quickly. Valerio turned around to his surprise she broke his ice with her bare hands from the wall. Clearly, he had no idea, whom he was messing with.
“Is that all you got? Punk!”
Valerio smirked back, seeing Veera flick her wrists getting her numbness out.
“You’re stronger than you look. I’m impressed.”
“Are you going to let me out of this room or not?” Veera fired looking quite impatient now.
“I’d like to say not. However, I guess you deserve a little reward after getting out of my ice hold like that.”
He pulled the door open for her.
Veera looked at him shocked, surprised and puzzled once again.
“What are you waiting for? Don’t you wish to see a friend?”
“You’re going to take me to meet one of them?”
“Do you see anyone else around?”
Valerio exited the room, leaving Veera no choice but to follow him out.
He guided her carefully, and much to her surprise he caught a patrolling guard and knocked him out cold.
“Why are you helping me?”
“Because I want to.”
Valerio took her hand and guided her down another hallway and another one, distracting the guards along the way and going towards a laundry room, where he got her a fresh-looking red robe.
She couldn’t understand his motive, but for now Veera had no choice but to trust him.
They came towards a black door.
He opened it and Veera saw a spiralling staircase going down.
“You have 5 minutes. Now go.”
Veera nodded her head in thanks as she went down. Valerio stood guard cursing at his good nature.
