31. Tango with the Enemy (2)

Ares, removed his blue and gold mask and threw it at Nico who immdiately caught it, with a grin. He was making me well aware that I was dancing with him, when our bodies came close to one another. My heart skipped beats and I looked at him a little p!ssed off.

"What are you doing?" I asked politely nontheless, with people watching our every move.

"Dancing with you?" Ares as he twirled me around.

I came back to his hold and danced again. Damn. He was good at making me move. I wanted to argue with him, but seeing as watchful eyes were on us, I needed to keep my arugument straight to the point.

"Shouldn't you be dancing with Gina, you know? Your mate?" I fired at him as he turned me around in his hold, with his back pressed to mine hard. My eyes closed momentarily, loving his warmth behind my back. His hands carresed my waist and leg, (which had a slip through the gown.) In the most sensual manner, arousing me suddenly. My heart raced as he touched me possesively infront of everyone.

"Who said she's my mate?" Ares turned me around and dipped me suddenly stealing a kiss at my neck.

"That little hussy!" Gina fired ready to intervene their sexy dance between them, but then Gloria caught her hand and danced with her making everyone gasp.

"What are you doing Gloria?" Gina gritted out through an annoyed smile.

Gloria smirked and pushed her away with a twirl and she came crashing into Franko's arms. Gloria and Nico joined in dancing away wikedly to the beat.

"Franko?!" Gina fired looking at him coldly.

"Greetings Gina." He twirled her leading her away from Ares and his true mate Veera.

I snapped my eyes back open as he licked my cheek teasefully and I knew I had to get away. My cheek heated up and glared at him through my mask only making him smirk back at me.

"Excuse me. I don't want to dance with you." I said whispering at him with my heart skipping a beat.

"Oh? Pray tell who then?"

"Leo." I said. Ares growled at me dangerously low, not liking his name comming out of my lips. Even if he was my fake boyfriend I didn't care. I would gladly dance with Leo if he was here just to get away from the guy who wanted to no doubt bite my a$$ off soon. With the fear rising in my chest looking at his blue glowing eyes, I knew it was time for me to take my leave. I twirled away not looking back at him.

I was just about to walk out of the dance, but then Nico and Gloria suddenly appeared and lead me back to the dance floor, trapping me in between them whilst they held hands toghether.

"Hello Veera, my you look preety in your lovely deep *cherry* dress." Nico complimented emphasising on the word cherry whilst he licked his lips. The thought disturbed me briefly. What did he mean? Gloria turned me around with her hands making me sway my hips.

How the hell is she making me do this?! I grabbed on to her shoulders and looked at her feet as she naturally kicked out with her feet at the back like a pro, in her high high heels.

"Hmm, you're a natural." She kissed my cheek playfully and twirled me back in the right direction.

I crashed into his arms again and I gasped as Ares picked me up with one hand making me wrap my legs around his waist automatically.

"Oh no." I worriedly said as he spun with me in his hold.

"Oh yes." Ares ;) and chuckled and dipped me so low and brought me back to my feet again smoothly.

The way Ares made me dance with my body, made me seem like I was natural. With his skillful hands, I was relunctantly now drawn to his body like gravity. My excited heart beats danced with his sensational sauve smooth moves, and surprisingly, he made me do the split on the floor and picked me up ever so slowly bring me back into arms ever so smoothly. I caught Gina staring at us. A part of me wanted her to intervene and take Ares away, but a really big part of me didn't. I don't know why but I playfully bit at Ares ear once more, making his eyes lusftfully glow pink at me. Clearly this p!ssed her off and when she growled dangerously towards us, Nico had no choice but to drag her away over his shoulders, with Gloria following behind him.

With the music now comming towards the end, Ares threw me into the air, upwards like I was paper light and caught me in his arms bridal style with the finnishing pose.

We both looked at one another with each of our faces quite flushed. His eyes then glowed blue, and Ares put me back down gently on the ground as the crowds clapped around us. I smiled at Ares clapping with the crowds. Wow. That was the best dance I ever had in my life.

Then the lights blacked out and Franko's voice came in the air.

"As part of the tradition to the masqurade, you may now kiss your dancing partners."

"Ares!" Gina growled and pulled him away quickly.

Suddenly, a hand came towards my waist, and before I could protest mysterious lips crashed into me in the darkness.

Who ever it was, it definetly wasn't Ares.

The lights came on and I saw myself kissing my best friend in the flash.

Oh my god!!

I was in the arms of my fake boyrfiend, a.k.a my best friend!

Leo is kissing me?! Why is Leo suddenly kissing me?! He pulled away and smiled down at me warmly.

"I missed you so much V." He hugged me.

"Leo?!" I hugged him back, so happy to see him.

I looked back, and I saw Gina making out with Ares. My heart broke once again, as Ares caught me staring at him. Ares pushed her away looking at Gina who smirked back at me, with a victory. Ares growled at her deeply saying somthing to her without saying a word. Gina gasped in fright, with her eyes watering and ran away from him. His eyes then turned towards me and I turned my attention back to Leo quickly.

"Oh my god Leo!!! Oh I'm so happy to see you, baby." I pulled his face towards me and gave him a passionate kiss, surprising him. If Cora was watching this, I prayed that she secretly forgave me as I used her boyfriend for the time being. I pulled away leaving Leo flushed on the cheeks, and also looking at down at me confused.

"Baby?"

I quickly shot him a wink and pecked his cheek hugging him.

Ares neck now came towards me and Leo, and I quickly linked my hands with him, firmly. Ares looked like he was resisting a snarling growl whilst he looked at Leo in the most irritated way possible. Still he remained as calm and poised looking at his rival.

"You must be the boyfriend, nice of you to drop by uninvited." Ares cracked his neck mucsles and Leo felt a nervous sweat releasing. He pulled out his canines and claws looking at him ready to finnish him off.

**Lets kill this bish** Troy concluded in Ares's thoughts.

Leo looked down at me, raising a brow at me, confused. I gave him an apologetic and I took my palm hiding my mouth and I mouthed out 'sorry I had to lie. Just go with it!' quickly.

Ares growled making me snap my attention back on his jelous self.

"Get away from him Veera. NOW!" Ares said fearfully, making the ground tremble with his authortive voice. My heart flipped in my chest. Leo almost fell to the ground to give him submission, but I held on to his arms firmly, staying strong for both our sakes. Humans easily gave in to submission to the deadlier ones in the room. However I was not exactly speaking human. His growl, definetly scared half the crowd in the room, but everyone was too afraid to even move from their spots. I had enough of Ares, I was not going to take any more orders from him. My friend was here, and he was here to save my a$$ from him, and I was going to let him tonight.

"No! Not him!" I fired at him, coming infront of my (fake) boyfriend, holding his hand firmly.

Ares took a step towards us, dangerously.

Gloria, Franko and Siena had shifted into their wolf forms snarling at Leo like he was their menu.

Leo's heart beats raced, as he looked at Nico now coming to the side of Ares.

Being the only human with me, Leo faced them head on with what he had, me as a sheild and also somthing esle.

He took out a sudden bamboo from his pocket. However it clumsily fell from his hand.

"Is that supposed to scare me?" Ares scoff, picking up the empty bamboo stick and snapping it in his hand like a twig, with his big hand growling meanly at Leo, like he would eat him.

"Oh dear god." Leo said loosing his confidence at the snap, but I held his arm once more.

"Don't be afraid of him Leo." I looked at Ares who raised a brow at me. Thats right punk! I'm not scared of you!

Leo cleared his throat and became braver once again and looked at Ares, letting go of my hand of support.

"I'm not alone, I have my friends with me and they all have Dark Leaf on them." Leo said, making Ares take a step back with Nico.

With the mention of the word 'Dark Leaf' the Were guests freaked out and left the hotel ball room area in a haste. Nobody wanted to die tonight, not with that incurable poison.

The Were guards and the closest memebers of the family now remained.

"Veera, do not be stupid and leave with him. He has not been faithful to you!" Ares said making me look a little confused.

Who Leo?

"What are you talking about? Leo has been faithful to me since day one!" I fired and Ares snapped his fingers. Nico pulled out some photos from his pockets and threw them at me.

"We did not want to hurt you Veera, but you need to know the truth about your sleezy boyfriend."

"Boyfrie--!" I clamped Leo's mouth shut fast and shook my head at him. Leo gave me a strict look before I let go of him and took one of the photos near my feet.

I was shocked to see Leo and Cora snap shots of them making out in the alley way.

They did the nasty in the alleyway?!

I gave Leo a surprised look cocking my brow up at him.

"You were spying on me?!" Leo said shocked at the pictures, and looked back at the pack and Ares who smirked deviously.

"Yes, I was curious to know about Veera's unfaithful boyfriend."

Leo looked down at me and I shook my head indirectly at him to keep his mouth shut. I could tell he was p!ssed of at me, but now was not the time to be angry. We were dealing with a pack and a sly billionaire Alpha.

But now I had to act my part.

I slapped Leo across the face and he looked back at me shocked.

"How could you!! With my best friend?!" I was also shaking my head at him and looking up at him apologetically. I should have just pushed him away, maybe I went to far with the slap? (gulps)

Leo knew me for a long time, and he knew I was quite a terrible in acting. Ares also looked at me rather confused, since I wasn't quite crying like he was hoping I would.

"We need to go now." He said quickly grabbing my hand and ignoring my slap.

"Ok! But I'm not happy about this at all Leo! Wow seriously in the alleyway?! I can't belive you two, would do this to me!" I still carried on my pathetic acting of a fake girlfriend and Leo pulled my hand towards him, so I crashed into his chest.

"*Baby!* We need to go now." He reminded and I nodded at him, still whilst fake glaring at him.

Ares growled and Leo turned to face him, with me still holding his hand.

"Let her go, or i'll snap your neck like a twig." Ares warned growling at him.

I let go of Leo's hand and came infront of him standing like a sheild. No one hurts my best friend!

"I will not forgive you if you so much as touch him, or any of my other friends, Ares!" I fired angrily looking at Ares who calmly looked back down at me.

My heart beats were racing as my leval of sass went up. If we didn't get out of here now, I was afriad if I may have triggered to invoke the 'Master'

"SO! You will let us pass!!" Ares looked at me heavily as my dragon was getting lit. He dangerously growled at me making my knees shake.

Suddenly a dart came flying in the air and Ares turned around just in time picking up on the danger, he miraculously caught the dart by it's tail. All of the Weres snapped their heads up and Jack and Cora cussed making a run for it.

"GET THEM!" Ares commanded and his pack obeyed.

Siena, Franko and Gloria gave chase as they both ran for their lives.

Ares got to Leo fast and gripped him by the throat lifting him up from the ground.

"You dare take her from me? Bad move Romeo." Ares canines came out and he was just about to bite him by the neck, but Leo took out the dart with his last strength and stabbed it into Ares's chest, with a fast move of presicion.

I shrieked and Ares dropped to the floor unconcious.

"NO!!"

I cried and went over to Ares shaking my head. I didn't want him to die!! Even though he kidnapped me I knew deep down inside my heart that Ares was not bad. He didn't deserve this. My heart cried seeing him this way so motionless, I couldn't stand it!

My tears fell on his face, as I pulled out the poisonous dart from his chest fast.

I saw the poison spreading again, and I put my hands over his wound fast. A yellow glow came out from my hand taking away his pain quickly.

"Veera!!..What are you doing?!" Leo said grabbing me and pulling me away from him.

"I won't let him die, Leo!" With one last touch on his cold chest, Leo cussed and grabbed me putting me over his shoulders fast making a run for it.

"No!! ARES!!" Had I gone mad? I was calling out for the one I had saved five years ago, I was calling out for the one that stole me and my heart.
