80. Leo the Hero, or is it Kian?

The black blind fold came off.

Karina looked around and saw that she was tied up to a chair, in what looked to be some kind of abandon building.

Footsteps approached and Karina did her best to wriggle out of the restraints.

"Buttercup." A voice sounded from the dark shadows and Katrina stopped her futile escape. She knew that voice. She unfortunately knew the man too.

He stepped into the light, and Karina cursed lightly under her breath.

"I heard you and your little gang have been disobedient?" He said darkly circling around her chair.

"It's not what you think, Miguel."

"Oh but it is. The little power puff girls ratted out your manager? Question is, who did it?"

A nervous chill ran down her spine as he whispered quite closely towards her ear. Karina could smell the foul smell of alcohol from his mouth.

"Urgh, ever heard of pepper mint?" Karina spat out and the man in his grey suit laughed. A sound of laughter sounded from the shadows and she knew that he obviously wasn't alone.

A harsh slap sounded on her cheek, making Karina fall dangerously silent, looking at the man with tattoos on his throat and face.

"Let's try some little respect?" He cocked his gun and put it against her head.

Karina closed her eyes and controlled her water works. She was dealing with a notorious drug dealer, who worked for the gang Merry-Jane.

He pulled the gun away from her head and snapped his finger. A chair rolled out from the shadows and Miguel took a seat Infront of her.

He put his gun at the back of his pocket and rubbed his hands together, looking at Karina with a quite a lustful intention.

“Just give me a name Buttercup. Tell me who ratted your teacher out?”

He had no idea that the culprit was sitting right Infront of her.

“I don’t know.” She lied with a calm straight face.

“You sure princess?”

Karina couldn’t control her level of strong headedness anymore, and slipped out a tear, due to the fear he had enticed in her. Miguel, went to wipe her tear away, but Karina pulled her head away from his touch. Miguel still leaned forward and wiped it anyway, and licked his thumb.

“You’re a good friend, Karina. No one likes a snitch. Two of your girlfriends are on the run and I’m glad you didn’t run because if you did princess (pulls out his gun) you know what would happen to you.”

Karina simply nodded at him.

“Can I go now?”

“No. Now tell me where your teacher baked his goods?”

Karina spilled the beans to him quickly. Of course that was the main reason why he had her kidnapped. Molson, didn’t just make his goods in his laboratory at school, he also cooked that twisted high sh!t from his apartment. Karina also gave him the recipe and Miguel grinned, liking her even more.

“Now can I please go?”

Miguel chuckled and so did the men in the shadows.

“As a collateral for your gang’s betrayal to us. The Merry-Jane gang now owns you for life. You no longer will be a delivery girl.”

“What?”

“You just turned sweet sixteen a couple of days ago right?”

“So?”

“So Buttercup you’ll be working for me in the night club as a stripper.” He bluntly said, shocking her.

“Ss…Stripper? Miguel, c’mon we have a good deal I always delivered for you?” Karina couldn’t possibly imagine herself dancing lucratively Infront of more loose dangerous shady men.

“Yes but your team f^cked up. Our cook is in jail, my boss is really pissed because he can’t taste the rainbow, and really I should just kill you, but you know what Buttercup? I like your loyalty. You’re not a snitch either and that’s why I like you.”

She really wished this scum bag didn’t. She gave him a weak smile, just to please him.

“Miguel, please I don’t..”

“Or I could just pimp you out in one of our RED light districts. Your young, fresh and a human I’m sure a wealthy Were would no doubt take interest in you?” He quickly cut her off, before she could protest further with him.

Karina, was loss at words. She had seen the dominant nature of the Weres in her school and they were no doubt bad news if humans crossed them the wrong way. She had no desire of getting bitten brutally and dying.

She was aiming to be with a simple man, when she hit her twenties. But right now this was a question for her survival. She balanced the odds against her favour. Become a stripper, dance for heart broken yet rich idiots or be pimped out in the streets to be taken by a Were?

The thought petrified her.

“You’re right. I’m sorry. I’ll be a stripper for you Miquel.”

Miguel smiled and grabbed her mouth giving her one nasty kiss. He pulled away and looked down at her giving her sluggish smile. Karina held back her puking face and bared on another tight smile to please him.

Suddenly the lights came on and Karina looked around.

“Well don’t just stand there, go find who turned the lights on you fools!” Miguel snapped and his hench men followed his order quickly. Suddenly one by one, the hench men were taken down by a one mean looking officer, who sucker punched and shot the goons right at their heads on point.

Karina screamed as more firing took place and in her panic she did her best to get out of her rope restraints.

“A stripper?! Are you kidding me?” A familiar voice angrily shouted out making Karina stop her movements.

“Who the devil are you?!”

Karina was surprised to see Leo in action. He dodged the on coming attack and came towards the guys that were shooting right at him. If it weren’t for his bullet proof vest, he would no doubt be dead.

“You’re jailer.”

Leo went to approach Miguel after defeating his goonies, and Karina heart hammered in her chest as he put a gun at her.

“Officer please calm down, no need to put me behind bars. I haven’t done anything wrong.”

“LLLeo go away!” Karina shouted and shook her head. He was messing with fire right now, and she didn’t want him getting hurt. However she realised a big mistake when she said his name.

Miguel suddenly made the connection and slapped her hard across the face making Leo punch a hole through a pillar beside him. Miguel trembled in his bones as he saw the strength in the mad cop.

What kind of a bad batch was he on?

“You dumb sn!tch, now I’ll have to kill you and your stupid boyfriend.”

“He’s not my boyfriend!” Katrina snapped no longer afraid of his slaps. Leo was too far away from them. Sure he could smash like hulk, but his ‘soldier pill’ that he was on was now making him run out of energy.

“Miguel, don’t do this. Let her go.” Leo calmly placed his gun down and Miguel scoffed. The cop almost had him shaking in his bones a while ago.

Karina took in a sharp in take of breath when he un hooked the safety from his gun.

“Say your last words b!tch.”

Karina eyes watered heavily and looked back at Leo who had his red eyes on locked on her. She lived a good life, she had great friends and her foster parents weren’t so bad. She didn’t expect her sloppy first kiss to be from the man who was going to pimp or make her into a stripper. She wanted to travel become an air hostess but she couldn’t achieve that on her bucket list since a gun was pointed at her head. Last words? A last confession.

“I love you Leo.” Her tears escaped as Leo speechless and surprised by her words, that his heart suddenly tugged at his chest.

Miguel grew even more furious with her and he was about to knock her out with the back of his gun.

“You stupid h..”

Suddenly blood splurged out from Miguel’s throat. Karina screamed on top of her lungs when she saw a man with green glowing eyes standing behind him. He plunged his claws into his back hard making, Miguel choke out in blood. Kian damaged his spine from the back saying "You dirty piece of scum." A vicious growl came from him and Miguel’s body fell on the ground. Leo came now came face to face with Kian.

“Well-done. Hero.” Kian smiled actually quite impressed by the number of men he took down single handily. Kian looked back at Karina, who was sobbing away with fat tears dropping down her shocked face.

“You still need to get off those pills you know?”

Leo pushed him out of the way and ran towards a shocked and speechless Karina, who was looking down at a bloody dead body by her feet.

“Karina, look at me you’re going to be ok. It’s over now.” Leo wiped a bit of the blood that splatted on her cheek as she sobbed looking at Leo.

“Please ignore what I said. I didn’t mean it! You’re an ugly gargoyle! An ugly (sobs) gargoyle” She cried out freaking out about her sudden confession. Leo undid her restraints and simply hugged her.

“You’re ok Karina. You’re ok.” He never meant to do it. But he couldn’t help it, she wasn’t calming down and Leo gently took her face and gave her sweet kiss on her lips surprising her. Her heart fluttered in her chest as he pulled away.

Karina suddenly slapped him hard across the face.

Emotions were high. Leo was surprised by her sudden reaction and he saw how red she had gone on her face.

“I say that I love you and you ..You kiss me?!” She gave him quite an angry disgusted look, which she seriously didn’t want to. Because the ugly truth was that Karina, actually liked his kiss more better than stupid (now dead) Miguel. She never meant

“What the hell was that for?!” Leo shook her by the shoulders, since he was confused just as she was. Why the hell did he kiss her out of the blue? Was it because of the damn solider pills he was on? Was it kind of a special side effect? Than again. He did react this way towards Veera when he tried to take her back. That time.

But this kiss, was different. It was pure and Leo couldn’t help the fact that he no doubt had feelings for Katrina.

“I DON’T KNOW!” She snapped.

“Well whatever it is Karina, I won’t let you forget what you said to me.” He pulled her up from the chair and Karina couldn’t help those wild butterflies in her belly playing up. ‘I love you?’ I love you?! What the hell was she thinking when she said that?!

“Just so you know. I actually hate you.” Karina said quickly becoming her cold self towards him.

“Clearly.” He spoke back coldly knowing quite well she was lying.

Kian on the other hand was done wiping his bloody claws and retracted them efficiently. Karina now saw Miguel by her feet and puked up on the side. Leo held her as she let it all out. It was a gruesome sight thanks to Kian.

“He’s dead? Oh my god. Miguel is dead!” Karina freaked out, tearing up again. Leo sighed and shielded her eyes away from the dead body, with his palm and moved her out of the way.

“We’re going home.”

“No you’re not.” Kian said cracking his neck muscles.

“Don’t do this Kian. Not now.”

“You, know him?”

“Yeah. Unfortunately we do, princess.”

Karina held on to Leo’s hand not liking the way he spoke back at Leo, darkly.

“You’re lucky your biting has been postponed.”

“What are you talking about?”

Kian’s eyes now landed on sweet sixteen Katrina.

“The girl is coming with me.”

Karina was stunned and no doubt scared of Kian. He wasn’t quite like Miguel who she could easily take slaps from. This wild looking f^cker was a scary a$$ Were.

Leo turned towards Katrina and pulled out his gun from his back pocket pointing directly at Kian’s head.

He simply rolled his eyes, since Leo had no magic (Dark Leaf) bullets on him.

“Karina, I need you to run.” He spoke quickly opening fire on Kian. Kian quickly growled and rolled quickly for cover behind a pillar. Due to Nico’s orders Kian could no longer harm Leo. He had been looking forward to claw him up good however things had changed.

Of course Leo was going to turn, however since he had consumed a lot of soldier pills for the past couple of months, there was a high chance of him not surviving the bite. As much as he wanted to kill Leo, Kian knew he would be in Cora’s bad books for life. Something he greatly wanted to avoid.

“Don’t be stupid Leo. Don’t do this.” Kian said as Leo got Karina towards the exit door quickly.

“Leo?”

“I said run Karina NOW!”

Karina hated leaving him, but she had no choice but to obey his order. With her heart trembling Karina ran away not knowing where the hell she was running. It seemed to be she was in some type of old office building and as she went out another door she heard the sounds of gun shots once more.

Leo silently cursed. Kian chuckled darkly coming at him.

“You’re out of bullets.”

Leo threw his weapon to the side and charged at him like a wild bull. Kian growled and glowed his eyes green as he punched at his stomach and threw him down roughly. He gripped his throat and squeezed it.

“You’re lucky, you don’t have to die to today.” He let go of him and choked out.

“What do you want with the girl?”

“You’ll find out soon enough.” He sucker punched him and knocked him out cold.

Kian raced out, picking up on the girl’s scent.

“Karina?”

Karina hadn’t quite exited the building. He was a Were! She didn’t know if he was a rogue, but as far as her knowledge went with the Weres. They never travelled alone. If she got caught now, who knows what that crazy killer and his gang would do to her. She hid herself behind a old dusty desk and held her mouth from whimpering, silently praying for Leo to be alive.

A creaky door opened up and tears fell from her eyes.

“Karina?” Kian cooed out.

“I know you’re in here sweetheart.”

Damn him and his powerful nose.

“Come out from under the desk sweety. I won’t bite you.”

Karina cursed and controlled her fearful heart beats. She slowly came out of her hiding spot and grabbed a dead looking ceramic plant pot from the desk. He casually approached her. Karina threw the plant pot at him and Kian dodged his body to the side without looking her way.

“I know you’re scared.”

“P1ss off!” She angrily glared at him and flipped him off with her m!ddle finger.

Kian chuckled, she had the same anger just as his sweetheart, Cora. Teenagers were no doubt troubled souls. Karina fell easily in that category when she was caught up in the notorious drug world.

“I was expecting more of a ‘Thankyou Kian, for saving my life?’”

Karina looked back at him looking no doubt afraid and defeated.

“Thankyou Kian for my life?” She repeated cautiously. Kian smiled at her warmly, trying his best to be as charm full as he possibly could. He didn't wish to kill that guy so gruesomely like that, but since he heard what he said about her and slapped her harshly like that. The guy had it coming.

“Why do you want me?! Are you after the drugs too? Well get in line!” She fired at him. Something deeply told her that he wasn't the type of guy to wait in line. Kian could easily tell the girl was trying her best to lie to him. From what he heard the so called 'cook' was in jail. She had no candy on her.

Kian chuckled at her. She was clearly mistaking him for a stupid drug lord.

“I’m not in that kind of business.” His family business consisted of selling fine wine, in Italy.

Karina felt troubled as he neared her. She went to the right, and he mirrored her blocking her cheekily.

“Well, if you’re not into that, I am of no importance.”

How wrong she was. Of course she was of great importance. She had no idea, that she had become the key, into sealing the deal with Leo.

“You’ll be free to go once we cracked a deal with your boyfriend Leo.”

Karina easily felt the cheeks heat up when he said that. She was an easy tease.

“Well…he’s not, he’s not my boyfriend so.” Karina kicked a chair heavily towards him, hoping to distract him and made a dash for it. Kian adored her bravery and easily caught by her waist. Karina screamed and yelled for non other than her hero, Leo. But unfortunately, he was currently knocked out cold.

“Princess K calm down!” Kian put her down and held her by her hand.

“No!! Let go of me! Let go!!! LEO!” Karina slapped Kian hard across his face and he growled out quite annoyed at her. His grip loosened up and he watched her escape him once more. But Kian was fast and blocked her path in a flash.

Karina’s heart hammered with full fear as she saw him growl lowly and flash his green glowing eyes at her.

“Please.” She croaked out. Her knees began to tremble as his powerful presence easily made her submit.

“Time for sleep, princess.” He grabbed her by her waist before she fell completely towards the ground. Kian took out the golden fairy dust and blew it at her face. Karina involuntarily inhaled and unconsciously called out for Leo. Unable to fight the deep sleep, Karina closed her eyes, and felt as her body was now lifted from the ground.
