I will mark her as mine.

“Who are you?”

Veera’s heart raced with his question. *Did he find out anything?*

She struggled for a few minutes again trying to get away from the tape. But it was too tight. Her mouth remained shut. She didn’t plan to say a word. At this point, she thought ignorance was her best option in surviving. She closed her eyes and showed her attitude.

“Don’t waste your time, Veera.” Ares smirked, “Let’s make it easier.”
“Drink this and tell me the truth.” He lifted a bottle of water in front of her, “If you do, I’ll let you go.”

She was indeed thirsty but she knew it wouldn’t just be *water*. She once heard about *Truth Serum* from Leo. He told her that was a drugged water which the mafias always used for captures. *After they tell the truth, they would be killed.*

"No thanks." She said sharply and disapprovingly at him.

If Ares wanted, he could have forcefully made her drink it, like he did to his enemies. But he wouldn’t. He didn’t want to harm her. He had plenty of time to know all about her little secrets.

"Very well." He got up his chair and turned on his heel.

"Wait! Are you just going to leave me strapped to the chair like this?!" Veera panicked.

He didn’t answer but continued walking, not even turning back to glance at her.

“Hey wait!” Veera sighed heavily, "If drinking that stupid drink will get me out of this chair, then fine! I'll drink it!"

Ares turned back on his heel and smirked.

This time Veera drank the sweet purple grapy liquid Ares gave her obediently. She drank the full glass and Ares smiled at her lovingly as if she was his new pet in the house, he absolutely adored.
Veera was still not sure what she was doing here, but she had to ask for her freedom.
Silence grew and Ares looked at his watch quickly when she wasn't looking. She should have been showing signs of laughter and tipsiness, but nothing was happening.

*This was strange.*

"Who are you Veera?" Ares asked, looking at her deeply.
"I'm just a photographer?" She replied.

"I know that. But who are you really? Clearly you’re not a werewolf” Ares stressed it, “Are you sure you’re just a human?”
Veera bit her lower lip, feeling nervous. He must knew something. If revealing the truth could make her life easier, she would just do it. But thing could only get more complicated if she tell someone else about her true identity. It’s not only about her Aunt and herself. She couldn’t risk the life of her kind.

**If Ares finds it, then THEY will find it.**

“Please Ares, I don’t know what you are asking about. But if you take me as your friend, please just let me go.” Veera begged.
Apparently, the serum didn’t work on her.
"Alright, little bird,” Ares exhaled, “You saved my life so how could I just let you go now. Enjoy your stay here then." He said simply.
"But I have a job!"
"You can still do the job here in Sicily, I'll get you as many cameras as you like."
Sicily?!

"Wait, Sicily? Miles away from my home? Did you mean you bring me in Europe?!" Veera was shocked.

Ares chuckled at her, "I take it your geography isn't so good?"
Fucking maniac. This time, she didn't take his mocking lightly. "I take it your geography isn't so good. Are you insane?" Veera mimicked him back annoyed in his Italian accent.
"Watch your sass around me girl." Ares growled grabbing her jaw making him look at him deeply, “This is my place.”
He let go of her and sighed when he saw her eyes water again.
Before he could say something soft, someone called him.

“Ares!” A man came in and whispered to him for a few seconds. Ares frowned at the words he heard.

“Go to your room. I’ll be back in a minute.” He turned to Veera, released the tapes on her body and leave a soft kiss on her cheek. Then he walked out the mansion.

Veera would have gone back to the room if she knew what’s going to happen outside. But all she wanted at the moment is to escape. She waited for minutes before she got up and walked to the door.

It was unlocked.

How lucky! She stepped out in surprise. Then she saw something she would never forget in her life.

A man was screaming and running across the lawn. Behind him, there were two huge wolves growling and chasing. Just as the moment she blinked her eyes, the man was ripped apart. She clearly saw how the slash of their paws and canines.

Then, she realized, the screaming was familiar. It was Jason.

Veera was about to faint when Ares and the other man turned around.
"Was I supposed to lock the door?" Franko asked, looking at Ares who growled at him lowly.
"She shouldn’t see that." Ares sighed.

“So that’s little girl you looked for years?” Franko saw Ares ran over to Veera and picked her up. He sniffing her head closely, "She smells nice."

Ares pulled his brother away from her, “Stay away from her, Franko.”

“Alright, alright.” Franko lifted his hands and stepped back, “But you know, she didn’t smell like human.”

“I know.” Ares said before he walked away, taking Veera back to the house.

“Ares!” Franko exhaled and stop Ares.

“Don’t forget you already have a mate.” Franko stared his brother’s back and sighed.

***
She’s not a human.
Of course she was not. He knew it exactly five years ago when he was healed by her magic.

Whatever she was, He was bound to find out sooner or later. No one would be able to keep their truth in front of him, neither of her. He would make sure of that.

But he did had a strange feeling about her which he couldn’t resist. Why did he feel so attached to her? This feeling has been growing ever since their first acquaintance. He shouldn’t feel like this because he already had a mate, like Franko said.

He looked at Veera’s calm sleeping face. She smelled amazing. He removed his shirt and shoes before climbing in the bed, sleeping next to her. He held her close, burying his head carefully near her neck. Her scent was tempting, making him want to kiss her. But he couldn’t because little bird wouldn’t like this. So he just stroked her jaw gently.

His eyes glowed in pink and his wolf was about to come out. As much as he wanted to bite her, he must control it. Touching her neck gently, his canines grew out.

*Mark her!* His wolf Troy was shouting.
*“Shhh”* He exhaled heavily. Wrapping his hands around her torso, he pulled her closer.
*It’s not the right time. But I will. I will mark her as mine.* He closed his eyes.
