79. Karina Trouble

Two days later.

Kian had been keeping a close eye on his next target.

His mate's annoying past lover.

He saw Leo chatting to a young human girl. A teenager no doubt.

Kian patiently watched and waited until, Leo was done with his little meeting.

Karina sat patiently, waiting for Leo to come and meet her in the cafe.

She saw his cop car pull up. Leo got out of the car whilst wearing his dark Aviators on. Karina had a flash back of his red eyes and nervously gulped. He came inside and met her and took a seat. Leo ordered her a milkshake whilst he got his coffee.

They made small talk before he broke the good news to her.

Karina looked at his more clear eyes, when he removed his sunglasses off.

"Mr Molson the d!ckwad (her teacher) has been caught?" Karina asked, quite astonished.

Leo nodded.

"Why do you look so worried?"

"He had a lot of videos on me and my friends, selling drugs."

"You won't be expelled. Your school principal has been notified about you and your friends that were involved with him, and we've gathered enough evidence of him threatening you and your friends to put him behind bars. "

Molson that douchebag, was making quite an amount on the side using the kids in school.

"So, he's confessed to everything?"

"Yes. It's jail time for him for a long, long time."

After reading out his rights, Leo took his sweet time beating the wisea$$ that had been using innocent teens to supply his drugs in school and on the street. He'd been manipulating them and threatening them for a long time.

"Can I go into witness protection possibly?"

"There's no need to. Your teacher won't come after you or your friends for vendetta, because A: We've got eyes on him now and B: because if he did, then his been given a clear warning that I'll come after him personally." He said rather darkly, sending chills down her spine.

Leo smirked.

"I think he got that message loud and clear." After he beat the sh!t out of him.

Karina turned away from Leo's sight and quickly shed a tear. She was relieved that her nightmare teacher was finally behind bars, thanks to cop gargoyle.

"You ok?" Leo asked and Karina quickly wiped her tears away and returned back looking like her normal self in front of him.

"Umm-Hmm." She simply replied with a nod.

"Before I hand this phone back over to you, promise me you won't do crap like that again?"

Unfortunately, she didn't just sell the 'good stuff' in school. Mr Molson, had a range of clients outside of school, and Karina mostly acted as delivery girl when she was went to make the 'drop off' in the red light districts in town.

She wasn't fond of the bars and casinos that she visited with Molson, three weeks ago, and hated the fact that a drug lord had taken an unwelcoming interest in her.

"Ok, ok, I promise." Karina rolled her eyes.

His job was done. Leo stood up after handing back her phone. She smiled and checked her phone quickly. She saw that this was actually a new phone.

"Wait, this isn't my phone?" She gave him a puzzled look.

"The old one was too, 'polluted', so I threw it away."

"You what! Are you crazy?!" Leo saw a sudden level of stress on her face that she quickly covered up with an annoyed fake smile.

"Relax, I stored your contacts of your friends on to this one." A look of relief took over and Karina relaxed.

"Good, they're all here."

"Whose 'Sweet Candy'?" There were a few more names like that, registered under the names of ''Merry Jane" and 'Shark-Tooth'.

"Oh, just one of my girlfriends." She lied, it was actually a name for the dangerous drug clients outside of school. Leo could easily tell by her body language that miss spitfire wasn't being honest with him. He knew he'd have to keep an out for her and no doubt keep her out of trouble just like the rest of his team were doing with her friends.

Karina had noted that Leo put his number in her contact list.

"You're safe now."

She took notice of his bandaged up arm from the other night. Leo put his hand away and made a mental note to pop a pill after he left the cafe. His next stop was to go and see Cora and ask her about what she was on about the other night.

He was still p!ssed at Jack who hadn't contacted him too.

"You have one week to complete your community service, so stay out of trouble." He concluded getting up.

Karina got up and hugged him surprising Leo who was about to exit the small café.

"Woah?"

"Thankyou." Karina pulled away controlling her waterworks. At least her nightmare teacher was behind bars thanks to this guy.

He smiled and hugged her back. Looks like she didn't quite hate him. He still felt guilty that he'd shouted at her the other day and he didn't want her feeling scared of him. Leo simply wanted to be her friend, a kind of older brother that she could turn to.

Leo pinched her cheeks wide tease fully.

"You ok?"

Karina snapped out of her hugging him and slapped his hand away from her cheek annoyedly. Damn, she was just a kid to him.

"Of course I am!"

She hated the fact that her heart skipped a beat for him when he'd earlier came inside to see her. What was wrong with her? Wasn't she scared of him before, and here she was suddenly happy to see him?

Stupid hormones.

Leo chuckled seeing those fiery eyes on him again.

"If you're ever in trouble Karina. You can always talk to me or Jack?" He put a hand on her head and lowered himself towards her level, looking at her on a serious note.

"Ok?" Leo made a mental note to keep an eye on her, since he didn't quite trust her.

Karina scoffed, controlling her sudden heated cheeks.

"There's no need for me to talk to any of you ugly gargoyles."

Karina pushed away and walked sassily away from him. The young teenage girl couldn't help but turn back and watch him one more time.

As she saw Leo staring at her, Karina blushed and pulled out her tongue cheekily. Leo chuckled as saw her walking out the door.

After paying. He went to exit too but just as he did, he suddenly saw a black van pulling up fast on the curb. A man in a black suit, wearing a strange looking oriental white and blue mask, suddenly came quickly behind Karina.

Karina noticed the danger and yelped sprinting away from him, but the masked man easily grabbed her by her waist.

Karina screamed and suddenly the masked man covered her mouth with a cloth making her pass out.

Leo got out and stepped into action, pulling out his gun and shouting at the masked man.

"Hey! Let her go!"

The stranger in the mask ignored Leo and flipped Karina over his shoulder.

Leo took no time firing at his leg, however it was too late, the masked man put a knocked out Karina in the black van and sped off.

Leo cursed and started shooting at the van.

What had miss spitfire got herself into now?!

Leo noted down the licence plate number and turned on his heel to pursue them. Unfortunately he suddenly got grabbed from behind and his gun was knocked out fast from his hand. Another masked man knocked out Leo harshly and Kian was surprised to see Leo getting kidnapped out of the blue.

Meanwhile...

Ares and Veera having a lovely stroll out in the woods. They were crazy in love with each other, and couldn't wait to make love again.

Infact, Ares was quite in the romantic mood and had a wild desire to make love to out in the middle of the woods.

"So everyone, knows about us." Veera said holding his hand.

Ares kissed the back of her hand and looked down at his girl.

T: Thanks to last night.

Veera stopped in her tracks and let out a huge sigh.

"But, I haven't broken the news to somebody else."

"Whose that?"

"My aunt Rita."

Ares pulled out his phone and gave it to Veera.

"Want to skype with her now and break the news?"


T: That you're going out with a bad a$$ Alpha?

"I need to tell her personally. But I'm afraid, she'll disown me if I do?"

Ares gave her a puzzled look, and put his sudden romantic mood on hold.

"She's not a big fan of the Were society, because unfortunately, she met a bad wolf who not only broker her heart but dumped her after having an intimate night with her." Veera blushed and looked away from Ares as she said that.

She cleared her throat and shook her lusty feelings of him again and continued.

"So then after her horrible heart break, she ended up dating a hunter."

T: Those b!tches still exist?

"A hunter? Veera, hunters are.."

"Outlawed, yes. But she ended up dating one and he completely brain washed her saying really horrible things about your kind."

"Like what?"

"Like you guys enjoy killing people, it's in your nature to eat the smaller prey and you see us nothing but food and a just a fun time to play around with, nothing more."

A: Hunters were quite a joy to kill a century ago.

"We can go together and tell her the news?" Veera asked.

Ares kissed the back of her hands and pecked her lips, and shook his head. As much as he wanted to meet her lovely aunt, Ares knew he'd be a dead Were if he stepped foot in her town again.

"I can't come to your home town. The mayor whose the Alpha there, isn't strictly my biggest fan."

Veera already knew what he was on about. He was a killer.

"Why did you kill those people in my town that time?"

"I said no to their business deal that involved drugs. For that, they decided to take me out by killing me. Fortunately for me, you were there that time to save me. So I vowed that I'd only see you after I had my vendetta."

"So you killed them then?"

T: They started it, so yeah. I ended them.

Ares nodded his head, making Veera shake his head at him, in disappointment.

"You must understand Veera, I only kill the bad guys."

Veera was conflicted with her thoughts. She knew he is a killer, but at the same time she was in love with him. No one was perfect. Everyone had flaws. But Ares had a bigger flaw that Veera was hoping to change.

After a long pause of silence, she spoke again.

"I don't like you killing people Ares. If I'm going to be with you, promise me from now on, that you won't kill anyone?"

Ares shook his head at her. Her girl was pure, and hadn't seen blood, death and violence quite like him.

"Veera, I can't promise you that. I have a lot of enemies around me."

"I know. I know you do, but you can always show mercy? I know you can, because I've seen you do it before."

Ares chuckled, knowing well what she was talking about.

"Your friends love you very much Veera, yes there had been many occasions where I wished to kill Leo and Jack in particular and sometimes Cora too but I couldn't do it, because you love them very much Veera. Besides your friends are now my friends..."

T: Except for douchebag Leo

"My enemies on the other hand don't get mercy from me."

"Will you at least try?"

He rolled his eyes and pulled her cheekily against the tree trunk. Veera blushed as he looked down at her mark and she quickly controlled her wild desire to suddenly kiss him. Damn, she hated it when he distracted her so excitedly like this.

He pulled out his phone and called Franko.

"Cancel the kill order on Judy and his toy boy Thomas."

Franko was confused and surprised. This wasn't like Ares at all.

F: What?

"Just do it."

Ares cut the call, and Veera looked surprised.

"You were going to kill them?"

"Yes, you see Veera, she pissed me off when she hurt you and took my hotel away from me. Judy is quite a feisty ambitious she-wolf and I was going to torture her before I killed her."

"You were never going to let me fight her were you?"

Ares sighed.

"You're not strong enough to face her."

Veera's features grew angry and she pushed Ares away. She learnt alot of self defence thanks to Shou yet she still wasn't strong enough. Judy's words still rang clearly in her head making her feel irked.

"Veera the walk is long."

"I don't care!" She snapped.

She didn't want to be the weakest link anymore. No matter what, a part of her still felt like an outsider since she simply wasn't a pure blooded Were like her boyfriend and her family. The only powers that she had, were to heal.

But she just didn't want heal her inner rage. She desired to be powerful just as Jack.

**T: Bae don't be mad.**

Then Veera stopped in her tracks and looked at Ares, remembering what he had told her earlier in the week. Of course. The reason as to why she hadn't quite got stronger was simply because he hadn't released his venom in her.

She walked back up to him, and he calmly looked down at her and picked up on her strange nervous tension around her.

"What's the matter?"

She pulled down her spaghetti strap and held his shoulders.

"Bite me."
