99. Bad Wolf

Leo.

Faces flashed his blue vision.

Memories as him playing with Jack as a kid flashed by. His first kiss with a girl in the tenth grade at a party flashed his eyes. His first crush? Why on Earth did his mind lead to her when he was in crazy pain?
Leo tossed and turned as the venom spread across his body like a plague. Ares, the damn jerk had succeeded when Leo felt his gums pain immensely. The mad beast inside of him was fighting to take control as more memories flooded his mind.
Cora. His ex-girlfriend from police academy sharing a laugh together at the movies and sweet kisses with him flashed him by. He’d been happy with her, until she betrayed him. Then came Karina, the girl that he’d come to cherish adore and save. The girl who had been manipulated to get to him.
He growled out in fury, this was her fault. A mad lust to kill her had taken over his mind, yet at the same time he felt a small part of his heart, ache for her. Especially when he saw the image of Mateo carrying her away from the car like that.
The troubled teen was in danger and it p!ssed him off when the thought of the other Were took her away like that. No. No! Karina was his! He still had a duty to protect her, no matter what.

“KARINA!”

An immense power started to build up inside of him as Leo’s heart raced more, as his sudden first crush plagued his mind again. What was going on with him?! He looked up towards the ceiling when a voice growled out from deep inside his soul.
C: Let me out.
The voice was deep, powerful and threatening. A wild fire burned within him as Leo, refused to acknowledge this new voice.
C: You can’t keep me inside forever Leo.

Leo knew all to well who it was.

A beastly abomination he refused to let take over.
He blocked out the intruder’s voice and remained focused. The pain he was intense inside of him. Leo was desperately trying to keep his sudden hunger for blood at bay.

He would not let this sickening temptation to hunt for Karina get to him.
He had to keep his mind focused. Something that would help him keep calm and forget about his pain.
Then the image of Veera came. His sweet caring Veera that healed him for the first time when he ended up in a bad fight at school. He’d almost lost his eye in a gang fight in school. However Veera was there to heal him just in time, that’s when he first found out about what she really was. An Apsara. His Apsara.

“Leo!” Even now…

He felt her near him and tried to push her away from him, as his inner beast thrashed inside his mind to gain control.
Warm hands came on his shoulder, consoling him tightly in a hug. Healing his pain across his torso and upper ribs. The minute Veera touched him, his inner beast calmed down, going into sudden slumber. He felt safe and secure in her arms.

His eyes went back to normal and he’s knees collapsed to the floor. His body hunched forward with him now putting his hands in his face. Veera let him cry as she sensed he was fighting something inside of him, that he didn’t want.

“It’s going to be ok! It’s going to be ok!” She was there for him, all over again.
Nico came by and suddenly injected his neck with something.

“Time to put the wolf to sleep.” Nico said as Veera held Leo seeing his teary brilliant blue eyes fluttering.
Silence surrounded him and before he passed out seeing two images of the girls he cared for.

A few days later.

Leo’s wolf had broken out and gone rogue.
The guards that were supposed to be watching him and helping him control his beastly nature had been killed.
Veera rushed out of the mansion to chase after him, however it was too late. Leo was long gone and a worry rushed over her.
Leo wasn’t in control of himself yet. He wasn’t ready to be mingle with the humans due to his blood lust for lambs.

“Where is Ares?!” She raced back inside to find her lover. A lover whom she was quite angry with and whom she’d kicked out of her bedroom for almost trying to kill her best friend.

“He’s having a swim, why what’s wrong?”

“Jack! You’re a lousy friend! Leo’s wolf has taken over him.”
Jack got up from his couch and rushed out gathering his team.

“We’ll get him back V.”
Veera then marched towards the private pool in Kian’s mansion.


“Ares?”
T: Call me when you want, call me when you need
Call me in the morning, I’ll be on my way

“Troy?”

T: Oh, call me by your name (mmm, mmm, mmm)

Ares broke out of the deep water and smiled at his quite angry mate, who was dressed in a cute sun

“Yes tesoro?”

Veera folded her arms across her chest and looked down at him. He had no idea what had happened since he was having a leisurely swim in the pool.

“Don’t ‘yes tesoro’ me!”

“Bambina, what’s the matter you seemed troubled?”

“Did you know, Leo’s wolf escaped?”

T: Le gasp. Shocking. Tell me something I don’t know?

“So?”

Veera couldn’t believe he was taking this news so lightly. Almost like he didn’t care.

“So? Ares it’s your responsibility to watch him, after you sank your canines into him?!”

Ares came out of the water, with his swim suit trunks on, and Veera was momentarily distracted by the water droplets that dripped out of his wet thick hair. Ares finished swimming and was casually drying himself of with the towel. He mused to himself when he caught Veera secretly drooling at him from the corner of his eye.

Hmm, perhaps he wasn’t done swimming yet? Ares threw the towel to the side and looked out at his very stressed out, worried and slightly horny little mate.

The way he gazed at her made her cheeks heat up.

Ares hid a smirk and laid his eyes on her mark, that instantly made her hornier than she ever was.

The need to touch herself had never been greater.

“No!” Get a hold of your self! This was no time to be horny, Leo was out there being bad wolf and Ares was simply taking this matter likely that her best friend went all rogue.

Veera shook her head and took a couple of steps back. With Ares’s close proximity a slight ache had started to build up inside of her.

“No what mia amore?” Ares knew how he made her feel, and he loved how cute and strong she was being to try and stay focused.

“No, you can’t do this!”

“Do what?”

“Act all hot and sexy whilst you’re swim suit! You know what? I’ll wait for you change and then we’ll talk.” She seriously needed to cool off.

Veera went to turn on her heel, but Ares sneakily snaked a hand around her waist and threw her in the pool, making her gasp out of surprise.

Ares jumped back in and chuckled as she came back out of the water. Now she was soaking wet and Ares had to control his excited growl seeing her red lacey bra show through her light thin white sun dress.

“What the hell?!” Veera fired.

“Veera what’s the matter? We can talk right here babe?”

T: We don’t need clothes to talk either.

“Not like this!”

Ares raised a brow as she didn’t realise that she had wrapped her legs around his torso. His hands sneakily went down her bum and squeezed them making her cheeks flush more.

“Oh c’mon!” She pushed away from him as she heard him chuckle.

“Veera stop, c’mon let’s talk I promise I’ll behave.”

T: For now.

“Ares stop fooling around, we need to go after Leo.”

T: The damn cockblocker.

“There’s no need for that.”

“Are you insane? Have you seen the number of lambs he killed on Kian’s farm a few days ago?”

“Cyrus is just hungry.”

“Cyrus?”

“That’s his monster’s name.” Ares mused.

“Not funny.”

“Veera don’t worry about Leo.”

“How can I not worry? Didn’t you hear him screaming out Karina’s name when he was turning?”

T: I sensed a lot of emotions when he cried her name like that. One being anger due to his wolf.

“Veera, you must know that I had every power in myself to end his life, and the reason why I thrashed him around like a rag doll was for him to cough up enough blood and to take his poison out, that he consumed over the couple of months.”

Veera fell silent as Ares continued.

“I never wanted you to see that. I was going to do that more carefully.

T: No, you weren’t. You were still going to kick his a$$ even without her there.

A: Shutup.

“I couldn’t contain myself when latched on to you like a damn leach.”

Veera sighed and rolled her eyes due to his jealousy kicking in. Still, this wouldn’t have happened if Veera hadn’t disobeyed him and sneaked away to go see him.

“Ares, he’d been starving for days, he was scared and lonely that you were going to kill him.”

T: I know, I love being bad. But that a$$wipe had it coming.

“But I don’t understand why he screamed Karina’s name like that?”

“Veera, when a non-Were such much like stupid Leo, get’s bitten by a mighty Alpha like me, well a lot of emotions are triggered when my venom syncs in his blood. The human experiences a wave of pain, and sees the people that he loves and hates all at once. It’s one trippy painful journey.”

Ares sneakily grabbed her waist under the water and pulled her closer towards him. Veera was lost in his lusty spell once more and wrapped her legs around him. He swayed her slowly in the water in a mini circle as if they were having a private slow dance.

He knew that she’d been worried a lot about her friend and wanted to do nothing more than to make her feel at ease.

Ares began to kiss the side of her neck and Veera nervously gulped she pulled him closer. She was desperately trying not to grind on him so she remained still as she possibly could.

“So, what does that mean?” Veera turned her head away, trying to keep focused, and Ares stopped his loving torture on her for the time.

“I guess, there is a high possibility, that Karina could turn out to be his mate or even worse he probably wants to find her out his mad blood lust for her and unfortunately kill her?”

“Oh my god!” Veera completely pulled away from him and swam towards the stairs.

Veera was worried for Karina more than she was for Leo.

The poor girl was innocent.

“You mean to say, that Leo could hunt her down and possibly kill her?”

Ares got out of the pool and draped a big towel around his worried little mate.

“Don’t worry Veera, I won’t let anything happen to Karina, besides Mateo is keeping an eye on her.”
