95. Water Slaps
Soon after.
Karina woke up, with a warm red blanket over her.
She looked around and saw she was in a window seat, with clouds flying by. Her head hurt a little but as she touched her head she realised that there was a bandage on it. Events of the escape of the wolves and Leo firing at his best friend came back to her.
Mateo came by and sat down next to her.
"We're in the air?"
"Yes, why would you rather be on my lap?" He teased making her roll her eyes.
Karina blushed as Mateo stroked her cheek gently, and gave her a warm look of concern.
"You're going home." He finally said.
Relief washed over her eyes.
"What about Leo?"
Mateo sighed out not really caring about the angry cop.
"What about him?"
"He's going to be ok right?" Karina worriedly asked.
"Hmm." Mateo opened up his small peanut snack and started eating. His inner wolf felt quite protective over her, and he secretly wished she wasn't in love with that stupid cop. Karina's heart beat trembled as his eyes gazed down at her mischievously. His deep tone of voice made her really nervous.
"Who knows?" Mateo said in a nonchalant way and offered her his snack, to which Karina denied.
She looked out the window secretly praying that Leo would be ok.

2 days later…
Splashed with ice cold water, Leo woke up with jolt.
His blurry vision as he looked around. He was stripped down only wearing his dark briefs and realised that he was in a cellar all chained up with long metal shackles at his arms and feet.
"I can't believe you shot at me. D!ck move bro."
Jack came into his vision and Leo stood up angrily.
“You’re a piece of sh!t, and a traitor!”
“Want some water bro?”
Leo tugged at his chains angrily and yelled out in annoyance. Jack rolled his eyes and splashed the cold water from his glass right at his face, in a insulting manner.
“I’ll take that as a no.”
Leo looked at him channelling his anger through his very red eyes.
“Where is Karina?!”
Jack smirked and made a mental note to tease him about her later.
“She’s safe.”
“With who?” Leo asked seeing Mateo’s face flash at him.
“Her new boyfriend.” Jack was quick to tease and Leo shook the metal shackles with his arms.
“She better be safe from his fangs Jack or I swear I’ll rip his eye sockets apart!” He yelled out angrily.
Jack tsked his teeth at him.
“Leo, look at you, you’re so unstable so angry. I think you should join the club?”
Leo scoffed.
“They made you their b!tch haven’t they?”
Jack grabbed another glass from the table and splashed it harshly at Leo’s face.
“Quit it!” Leo furiously snapped in his horace dry voice. He was very thirsty and seeing Jack drinking infront of him, made his throat parch even more.
Jack smiled, greatly irritating him.
“I get that you hate me. I completely understand, you feel betrayed by me and Cora.”
“Cora?”
“Right she’s joined the pack too.”
Leo’s head fell holding back his tears. He couldn’t believe his ex-girlfriend betrayed him. Leo exhaled and looked back up at his best friend.
“You’re forgetting who’re you’re talking to! I looked after your alcoholic uncle left you. I was the one that got you out of the sh!tty messes you were in back when we were kids. Remember the time when you were passed out on the street because of your stupid overdose. You’re lucky I got you to the hospital on time, or you’d be dead. YOU OWE ME!” Leo screamed angrily, still filled with heavy rage.
Jack sighed heavily, thinking about his dark past.
“True, my uncle abused me with drinking and drugs when I was fifteen. I was glad that a$$hole left my life because then Grandma took me in. I was really messed up as a kid Leo, and I thankyou for saving me. Now let me do the same.”
Leo chuckled darkly at him.
“Then get me out of here.”
“No.”
Jack splashed another round of cold water at his face and turned on his heel, leaving his poor friend in shackles screaming his name angrily, as he walked away.
Jack retreated back upstairs and saw Cora who had tears in her eyes. She didn’t have the courage to face him like Jack.
“Cora don’t cry.” Jack said holding her hands warmly, doing her best to comfort her.
“I know, I just hate seeing him like this.”
“Trust me, he’ll be ok.”
“It’s too risky, we shouldn’t be doing this.”
“It’s not up to decide his fate no longer.” Kian said and Cora looked at him puzzled.
“Wait you told me that we wouldn’t be going ahead with the bite if Leo isn’t in the state of surviving?”
Kian hated being the breaker of bad news.
Nico, Gloria, Sienna and Franko had already known this outcome long before. For they had tried to turn a heavily ‘pilled’ security into one of them and the outcome was not good.
“Cora, Leo isn’t going to survive.”
“Then why are we still keeping him captive?”
“Alpha Ares.”
Cora nervously gulped and looked back at her lover.
“He’s going to kill him?”
Kian and Jack didn’t say anything and Cora started running towards the dungeon door, screaming out Leo’s name. They planned to kill him all along?!
Kian caught her mate and blew gold dust over her before she reached the door. Cora gripped Kian’s collar growling out at him.
“Don’t you dare hurt him.” Cora passed out, and Kian sighed out carrying her away bridal style back to his room.

2 days later.
T: Why are we trying to save this guy that tried to kill us?
A: The guy is the biggest douche bag. Unfortunately, his lucky that our dear mate still cares for him.
Veera sat seeing Leo look tired and helpless, through the CCTV cameras. She hated seeing Jack splash cold water at his face with the other betas.
“Stop torturing him like this! He has eaten or drunk in days!”
“Veera, we’re are only trying to detox his situation. He may look tried, but don’t be fooled. Leo still has great strength due to the pills he consumed. He almost chocked a security guard with his chains.” Franko said quite annoyed.
Veera stood up.
“I want to go see him.”
T: Over my dead body.
“That’s out of the question, Veera.”
“Ares please. Please I’m his friend.”
“He’s dangerous.”
“So am I?” Veera said tripping her Alpha from his feet to the couch.
T: Naughty move babe, but I love it.
Franko smirked and left the room with his mate.
Veera went to turn on her heel, but Ares growled out and caught her hand and flipped her easily on the couch with him of top of her. They both went red and Ares smirked at her.
He went to kiss Veera but she controlled her sexual desire and stopped him. Ares slowly sat pulling Veera up too.
“What’s wrong?”
“We can’t do this right now. Not when he’s like that.” Veera said looking back at Leo with full concern.
T: Right. Thanks Leo, you stupid cock blocker.
“I’m going to go and see him.” Veera got up, but Ares blocked her way. Veera looked at him angrily.
“What is your problem? Now is seriously not the time to get jealous Ares. How many times must I tell you that I love you? You have nothing to worry about.” She stressed crossing her hands over her chest.
“I know. I know. Veera I know you’re strong. But, I just don’t want you to get hurt? Please give him a couple more days. Then I’ll let you see him.”
Veera sighed and reluctantly agreed. She knew Ares was quite protective about her, and she knew he wasn't going to let her get close to him too soon. Even so. She was determined to go see him.
Ares kissed her forehead and they both walked out of the security room, with Veera taking another glance at the CCTV camera.
Night came.
Thinking about her best friend.
Veera couldn’t sleep. She kept on thinking about how thirsty Leo must be.
She slowly, removed Ares’s hand over her torso and slipped on her wine silky robe over her short satin silky night dress.
Ares opened his eyes as he heard her quietly close the door behind her.
