Chapter 21
"Prince Burris, my wound hurts ......" Vicky's weak voice rang out in Burris' arms.
"Hey, you hear that, your pussy's screaming in pain! Useless dick!" Duster shouted provocatively, using coarse words.
Burris frowned and looked at me with a deep gaze, "Cheryl, wait for me and I'll come back for you."
"Get away from me, you monster! You better stay away from my sister or I'll blow your brains out!" Cecil warned him loudly.
I clenched my fists and didn't say anything. I suddenly realized that I was in a very awkward position.
Burris gave Cecil and Duster an icy look in his eyes. There was no expression on his face, but I could sense that he was angry.
"Chris, you're my wife, better stay away from these men or they'll all lose their lives because of you." He warned me in the same tone of voice and called me Chris.
I hate that name, it doesn't belong to me.
"No, I'm not Chris, and I'm not your wife. If you want to hurt them, you'll have to knock me out first!" I said to him coldly.
"No, whether you're Cheryl or Chris, you're my wife." Burris said with a stoic face.
After saying that, without waiting for me to say something else, he had already left the place with Vicky in his arms.
"Damn it, Burris the bastard!" I cursed angrily as I looked in the direction he left.
He says I'm her wife, but then he leaves with another woman in his arms. Men are so unreliable!
"Hey, Cheryl, how are you feeling?" Duster's concerned voice rang in my ears.
I calmed down and nodded to him, "It's okay, I'm better, I shouldn't be out of control from hunger again anytime soon."
"You scared the hell out of us back there." Duster said.
"I'm sorry." I said guiltily.
"Oh! I mean, we're just worried about your safety." Duster explained with chagrin.
I laughed at his look, "I know, my friend, I'm not that petty."
"Did you just try to draw blood? Sis." Cecil, who had been silent, suddenly said, frowning at me.
I watched as he pursed his lips and pretended to be indifferent and shrugged, trying to make my tone sound lighter.
I said, "Yes, it felt like you hadn't eaten in three days, and it made you hungry."
"Why is this happening!" Cecil covered his face in pain and crouched down.
I looked helplessly over at Duster, who was really better than me at comforting people.
"Hey lad, stand up, we should get to work, are you going to leave the pretty lady waiting for you in the cold?" Duster went over and lifted him up with one hand, the size difference looked like he was lifting a chick.
I watched as Cecil was forced to stop grieving and, still red around the eyes, was lifted up by Duster and could only cover his face in death, the look of shame and anger that made him want to bang his head against the wall.
"You savage beast! Better let go of me now!" Cecil struggled, trying to fight back against the savage werewolf.
All unpleasantness was lost in the cold night air at the sound of their jostling.
We made it to Gordon's apartment, which is not far from Cecil's, before dark.
"Cecil, you might need to hide or he'll tell Tyrone," I suggested to Cecil.
"It's okay, I don't care about Tyrone's attitude, you're back anyway." Cecil said.
That sounded a little strange on closer inspection, like Cecil knew I'd be back, but I didn't think that much of it at the time.
"Well, if he did kill me, I'll make him pay and he won't have a chance to tell Tyrone." My eyes glared harshly at the lighted bedroom in front of me.
We made sure Gordon was the only one home alone on the roof, then surrounded him from three reverse. gordon was top ten on the hunter list, he couldn't beat me if we were fighting solo, let alone the three of us now.
Gordon was quickly subdued by us, Duster holding him down while Cecil went for the ropes and I stuck out my fangs to intimidate him.
He was so frightened by us that his face went pale and his pupils went wide, but he made no sound.
It wasn't until Cecil got rope to tie him up that he screamed at Cecil, "Cecil! How dare you join forces with vampires and werewolves to kidnap me! I'll be sure to tell Tyrone, just you wait until he gets someone to arrest you! You traitor to humanity!"
"You will be bound to the cross for God's judgment and punishment, and you will be blazing ...... Oh!"
He kept cursing Cecil, his voice so raucous that I couldn't resist giving him a punch and he finally quieted down.
"Shut the fuck up and do what we say or you will never see Tyrone again," I threatened him harshly.
Gordon looked at me in horror and nodded frantically. Good, Gordon's a shy guy, I don't think our interrogation will be too difficult for a while.
"Baby, you're so cool!" Duster looked at me with eyes that looked like they were glowing.
"Oh, don't be so gross, Duster," I grinned at him helplessly.
"Watch your language, beast!" Cecil reprimanded him with a frown as well.
"Well, it's time for us to get down to business." I said.
Cecil handed me the shotgun that was exclusively mine, a gesture that seemed like it had been rehearsed many times. I took it in my hand to load the bullet and put it against Gordon's head.
"I'm going to ask you a few questions and you're going to answer me honestly." I looked at him with stern eyes, "Or I will pull the trigger."
A cold sweat immediately broke out on Gordon's forehead, and he blinked with quick frequency.
I'm happy with his attitude now, people like that don't lie when they're dying.
So, I asked the first question, "Why were you guys at church that day?"
Gordon's eyes looked bewildered as I pushed the gun against his forehead and a sudden unpleasant smell appeared in the closed room.
Oh! Shit! He peed his pants! What a disgusting smell!
"No, I don't know what day you're talking about?" He broke down and looked at me.
I frowned and said impatiently, "That's me ......"
"It was the day my sister, Cheryl, died." Cecil interrupted me.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot who I am now again. I'm not the same Cheryl anymore, and Cecil shouldn't want me to reveal my identity.
"Yeah, come to think of it?" I continued to ask Gordon.
"Come to think of it, come to think of it." Gordon said immediately.
He looked to Cecil, his features scrunched together as he explained, "It was Katelyn who ordered us to kill your sister, she paid off your sister's men, they didn't go to the church and I was there in ambush a long time ago."
"Katelyn is our superior, there's nothing we can do about it, give me a break Cecil," Gordon begged, crying bitterly.
I think he may have thought we were helpers Cecil had brought in to avenge his sister's death.
It sounded a bit funny, but I couldn't laugh. My trusted henchmen had betrayed me for money, and now it seemed that humans were not very reliable creatures indeed.
"Hey, don't look at him, I'm the one asking you, don't you want to live?" I hit Gordon on the side of the head with the barrel of my gun, "Watch out for my pistol going off."
"Think! I want to! You ask, I'll tell you everything!" Gordon shouted with his eyes closed.
"Cecil said I ...... oh no, that Cheryl was hunted by you guys because she turned into a vampire, is that a lie you made up?"
It can be a strange experience to pronounce your name as a bystander.
"No, no, no! That's not a lie!" Gordon shook his head in excited denial.
I frowned and put my index finger on the trigger, "You better not be lying, how did Cheryl become a vampire?"
