Chapter 38

"Cecil, are you really not going to go back to Pittman?"
I confirmed to Cecil again before leaving Rotali County, I was really worried about him being in danger again.
"Unless you're willing to go back with me, I'll go wherever you go." Cecil's answer remained the same.
"But I can't go back anymore, who I am now would scare the humans. And I need blood to live, I can't even live in the sunlight." I said sadly.
"My poor sister, why did God make you a vampire." Cecil came up and hugged me, his voice sounding sad too.
"Because it wasn't God that made a deal with you, it was the devil, Cheryl is the way she is because of you, and you have no right to blame her." Burris interjected faintly from the side.
"That's enough, Burris!" i didn't want Cecil to feel guilty because of me.
Still holding me, Cecil said harshly to Burris, "I should have shot you!"
"Cheryl, hug me again, I'll see you when your wedding comes around and if you don't mind I can be your maid of honor." Amanda held her arms out to me.
"Of course I don't mind." I let go of Cecil to go and hug Amanda for a bit.
I had a smile on my face, but sadness permeated my heart. My wedding to Burris was also my funeral, something I had promised Burris.
After saying goodbye to Amanda, we left County Rotali on a plane and flew to Burris' estate.
Because of Cecil, we stayed on the plane and didn't use our teleportation abilities.
The plane was also fast and we arrived at the manor that night.
The manor was eerily cold and foggy in the air, and Cecil had been nervous when he got off the plane.
"Relax, Cecil, Sis will protect you." I reached out and pulled him in.
"I can protect myself." Cecil said.
But instead of shaking my hand away, he gripped me back harder.
Burris glanced over to the hand Cecil and I were interlocking, his face fading to a grimace, and for some reason I suddenly felt a little weak.
But I shouldn't be weak, Cecil is my brother, I've been pulling on him like this since I was a kid.
And I was just food to Burris, so why should I worry about him being jealous over food? That was so humorous.
Thinking that, I ignored Burris' somber face and held Cecil's hand tightly all the way until we parted in front of the bedroom.
Cecil was reluctant to part with me and pleaded with me, "Can't I be in the same room with you, sis? It's too dangerous here and I don't want to be separated from you."
"Cecil, you are a man who has turned eighteen, how can you live with a lady who has a marriage contract? In a woman's bedroom, only men are the most dangerous." Burris's face darkened completely and his tone was quite unpleasant.
"Burris is right, Cecil, I would feel very inconvenienced if I shared a room with you." I do for.
Thinking Cecil was scared, I reminded him again, "Cecil, there's a push-button in your room, so if you're in danger just ring it and I'll come right over."
"I'll come along too." Burris added faintly from the sidelines.
Cecil frowned at us and demanded of me, "Sis, then you can't be in the same room as this monster either."
I gave Burris a hasty look and slapped Cecil on the head, lecturing, "Of course, we're not married, and it's rude to call him by his first name when you should be."
Cecil's brow furrowed even more, clearly unhappy with my lecture.
I sighed helplessly and had to urge him on, "Well, Cecil, get inside and get some rest."
Saying goodbye to Cecil, I was about to say goodbye to Burris and head back upstairs to my bedroom, but when I turned around I was met with a pair of glowing, bloodshot eyes.
Before I could cry out in surprise, I was led away from the hallway by Burris. Almost instantly, the door slams against the wall with a violent thud and I'm led by Burris to his bedroom.
Burris placed me on the bed and I glared at him in anger, questioning, "Burris, what are you trying to do to me?"
"You just pulled a hand with Cecil and I feel pissed." Burris said, leaning down closer to me.
I was forced to keep falling backwards, but the mattress was behind me and I ended up being shackled between Burris' arms.
It was a rather ambiguous position, the tip of Burris's high nose almost resting against mine, and I could even feel his breath spraying over my face.
I tilted my head with difficulty and said unpleasantly, "Burris, I don't think that's an appropriate position for a conversation, and Cecil is just my brother, I don't know why you're angry?"
Because of this head tilt, my neck had to be exposed to Burris' eyes, which was extremely tempting to Burris.
Sure enough, Burris paused for a moment, then lowered his head and buried his face in the side of my neck.
The cold breath on the side of my neck made my whole body stiffen.
"Burris, don't do this ......"
I don't think Burris sucking blood right now is going to make me feel any better.
I suddenly felt a little sad, and even though I'd agreed to be his food, I still wanted him to respect me.
But after waiting for a while, Burris didn't even move, he just put his whole body weight on me.
Burris's head nuzzled, his short, fluffy hair sweeping over the tip of my chin, and his cool, soft lips brushed against the side of my neck in a catlike, pampering motion.
"But Cecil and you aren't related." Burris sighed, "I mean ...... it might break your heart to say this, but I think ...... Cecil likes you, how can he like you?"
Burris' language was a little confusing, but I could probably understand what he meant.
I didn't have the first time to think about the content of his words, but couldn't help thinking that Burris had just been thinking about how to express it to me, but still used the most awkward and direct way, and his tone was even a little cautious and condescending.
Thinking that way, I suddenly thought Burris was cute.
"Maybe it's because he's been exposed to so few girls." I explained carelessly, unable to resist placing my hand in Burris' hair and scratching it twice as if it were a kitten.
I used to want to have a cat all the time, but I was too busy killing and fighting every day to even take care of myself, so I gave up on the idea.
"Burris, you're so much like a cat sometimes." I couldn't help but voice out what was on my mind.
I was probably the most unrestrained food the Prince Lord had ever had.
Burris managed to get sidetracked by my attention as he grabbed my restless hand and looked up in confusion, "A cat? Why cats?"
"Because cats are smart, noble, and like to be pampered, just like Burris." I couldn't help but laugh out loud and scratch Burris' hair twice more.
Burris pursed her lips and smiled back, looking at me helplessly, "Cheryl, can I take that as a compliment from you?"
"Sure." I said, "Cats are very cute animals."
"And does Cheryl like cats?" Burris asked me seriously.
Because of this strange position, I can only look at him with my eyes half-hung. burris's pupils have reverted to gold and he looks at me with a genuine and focused gaze.
The look was almost identical to the look of deep love; they were both eyes that could compel a person to indulge in them.
"Like." I said looking at Burris with the same look.
