Chapter 47.

Covering Cecil with a blanket, I was ready to turn around and go find Burris.
"Sis? Where are you going?" Cecil asked me as he suddenly woke up and rubbed his eyes.
"Do you know where Burris went?" I asked him.
Cecil's eyes immediately drooped at the mention of Burris' name.
He said unhappily, "I don't know, I accidentally fell asleep."
"Well, I'll go look for him." I nodded and turned to leave.
"Wait, sis, I'll go with you." Cecil caught up.
When we reached the downstairs lobby, I finally saw Burris, which was a relief, and walked towards him.
Burris wasn't alone in the hall; across from him stood an agitated Hampton, and an anxious-looking Mopso.
Hampton saw me first, and his eyes grew even wider, with an expression as if he wanted to eat me.
Perhaps sensing Hampton's change, Burris followed his line of sight and turned his head to look at me.
Burris unfurls a smile at me and stands up from the couch, walking towards me as well.
"Cheryl, did you sleep well?" He asked, taking my hand.
In this moment, it's like Burris has nothing but me in his eyes and I have him in mine.
Burris is wearing a black blazer that only shows his neck and wrists. I look him over carefully, relieved not to find any scars on his exposed skin.
"Burris, she killed Vicki, and I want a trial for her!" Hampton shouted from behind Burris, his voice becoming coarse and hoarse, like a gravel-gritted voice.
Burris' eyes, which had been soft, became instantly glazed as he turned his head to glare at Hampton and said coldly, "Hampton, you have been banished by me and are in no position to judge Cheryl again. You better get out of here as soon as you can."
"Burris, you can't do this, the family can't be without its elders." Mopso said eagerly from the sidelines.
Burris said in a determined tone, "No Mopso, you are of no use to me. If it weren't for Father, I would have banished you long ago."
Mopso tried to persuade Burris again when Hampton stepped forward and said fiercely, "There's nothing more to say Mopso. he's too bewitched by the bitch to walk, we can't say any more than that, we might as well just kill the woman!"
Hampton's eyes kept glaring at me as he spoke.
I looked at Hampton fearlessly and said coldly, "It just so happens that I want to kill you too."
The atmosphere in the hall became a little tense as Burris turned to stand in front of me and looked at Hampton sharply, "If you try to hurt Chris, I won't let you go."
Burris unleashed his intimidating pressure on them, Hampton and Mopso's faces turned pale and blood even spilled out of the corners of their mouths.
"That's enough Burris. we'll be out of here in a minute." Mopso said with a frown.
Perhaps Burris withdrew his gaze and their bodies swayed slightly, their demeanor looking much more relaxed than it had a moment ago.
"Come on Hampton, don't make trouble for yourself." Mopso said to Hampton, walking towards the door first.
Hampton was still standing in place, his eyes grim as he narrowed his eyes and asked, "Burris, where is your inherited power? I can't feel your power anymore."
I gave Hampton a shocked look and became a little nervous.
"That's my business too, Hampton, you have no business being in charge of me anymore." Burris' cold expression didn't change; he didn't seem surprised by this in any way.
Hampton grimaced, his eyes becoming more somber as he said as if cursing, "Burris, sooner or later the Howard family will be destroyed at your hands!"
Burris seemed to be impatient and did not reply to Hampton again.
Finally, Hampton gave me a hard stare and struck out of the place.
Burris looked at me again, his eyes softening, and smiled, "Cheryl, they will never be seen on the estate again."
"Well, thank you, Burris," I said sincerely.
"By the way, Burris, did you find a way to wake Diana up?" I asked with concern.
"Not yet." Burris shook his head and explained, "Amanda also has prophetic powers, and when she said you were in danger, I rushed back immediately."
"I can come with you, I'm a marquis now, and I can help you if you're in danger." I suggested.
"Sister, I'll go with you too." Cecil said immediately.
I then remembered that Cecil was still around and felt a bit of a headache, I had to think of a way to get rid of Cecil.
"Not for a while, the Campbells are looking for you, it's too risky to go out now." Not waiting for me to come up with a solution, Burris declined the offer.
"Well, I'm sorry Burris. i might have added too much trouble for you." I said a little lost in thought.
"It's okay Cheryl, it's not your fault." Burris gently stroked my head.
"Thank you, Burris," I offered, stepping forward to hug Burris.
Tyrone's POV:
"Hey, go faster Katelyn, we need to get to the next town before dawn." I couldn't help but speak up to urge the woman following me.
My cover was blown and I had to leave Pittman.
As I left I ran into Katelyn, I had planned to kill Katelyn, but the woman actually begged me to turn her into a vampire as well.
Of course, I satisfied her.
I was no longer the alpha hunter, and I needed someone who could help me.
"Tyrone, I want to suck blood ......" Katelyn said weakly, her eyes bloodshot.
"Wait until you get to the next town and you can go bite someone." I said.
Katelyn didn't answer me, she didn't even seem to have the strength to speak, her body was trembling slightly.
She was trying desperately to hold back the desire to suck blood. When a frog jumped past her, she would stare straight at it and then keep swallowing. This was the reason for her slow movement.
I felt a little annoyed that the lower level vampires were so troubled that I couldn't even control my vampiric desires, and I even got the urge to kill her again.
Katelyn didn't seem to be helping a bit at the moment.
Perhaps sensing the impatient look in my eyes, Katelyn picked up her pace to follow, and only then did I turn my head and continue on my way.
When we got to the next town, Katelyn tried to jump on people when she saw them, but I was able to pull her back just in time.
What a way to get me in trouble!
I gave her a hard stare and whispered a rebuke, "Damn, do you want everyone to know we're vampires?!"
"I ...... I'm going to have no control over it." Katelyn bowed her head, her body trembling even more as her nails continued to elongate.
I pushed her away and took a few steps forward, seeing a homeless man at the edge of the alley.
"Follow it! Dumbass." I ordered to Katelyn.
With that said, I stopped caring about her and walked towards the homeless man.
I dropped two gold coins in front of him and the homeless man lifted his face, which was too dirty to make out his features, and his black bean-like eyes were looking up at me in surprise.
I loved that look, the look that treated me like a god. When they fully believe me, I'll push them into hell with one hand.
"Do you want more money?" I ask the homeless man with a smile.
The homeless man immediately nods and looks at me with eager eyes.
I curl my mouth in satisfaction before looking to Katelyn and saying to the tramp, "She'll give you more money if you go down the alley with that woman and do her a favor."
The tramp also looked to Katelyn with added desire of another kind in his eyes, with a little surprise mixed in. He didn't seem to expect to come across such a good thing.
"Is it true what you say, sir?" The vagrant asked me.
He swallowed like Katelyn did.
"Sure, go ahead and pull her in." I said with a smile, gently guiding him.
The tramp stopped hesitating and stuffed the two gold coins on the ground into his pocket before stepping forward and reaching out his dirty hands to pull Katelyn. the tramp led her down the alley, Katelyn hanging her head low and not struggling.
