Chapter 36
When I regained consciousness again, I felt sore and weak all over, with no strength at all.
I opened my eyes and into them was a lovely patch of freckles on Amanda's soft face.
"Amanda, what are you doing? Why are you leaning so close to me?" I asked with a smile.
"Oh! Oh my god! You're finally awake! Go talk to Cecil!" Amanda had absolutely no desire to joke with me, her little face blooming with anxiety.
"What happened?" I put away my smile.
"Cecil thinks Burris hurt you and is going to kill Burris, Burris knows you care about Cecil and has to hide everywhere, they're tearing my house apart, go talk to Cecil!" Amanda said anxiously, bringing me my shoes.
"Oh, thanks, I'll do it myself." I stopped Amanda's hand from putting on my shoes and quickly sat up from putting them on.
My head was still a little dizzy from just sitting up and I took a moment to slow down before lifting the covers and getting out of bed.
"Didn't you guys tell Cecil that Burris saved him?" I followed Amanda quickly outside.
Just outside the bedroom I froze, Amanda's home was a small duplex cottage that hadn't been neatly tended, but at least things were where they should be and there was plenty of space.
But now the rooms were completely changed.
The railing on the second floor was broken, the floor was covered in dense gunshot holes, the sofa table and chairs were stopped irregularly in the middle of the living room, there were two kitchen knives sticking out of the wall, and pans were hanging on the wall where the picture frames used to be.
It was simply disastrous.
I glanced sheepishly at Amanda, who was also looking at me with pursed little lips.
The two hundred year old witch was red-eyed and confided in me with a sobbing voice, "I told Cecil and he didn't believe me and almost beat me up with him."
"They've now hit my basement with my years of hard work in it.Cheryl, you have to help me stop them ...... ooo ......"
Amanda still couldn't hold back her tears.
I immediately went over and hugged Amanda and coaxed her, "Oh Amanda, I'm so sorry. I'll make sure to teach that bastard Cecil a lesson and I'll pay you back for all this stuff."
Amanda whimpered as she cast a spell to fly me to the basement.
The tunnel in the basement had green crystals on both sides for illumination, the eerie green light made the surroundings a bit eerie, but luckily Amanda quickly flew me away from the place.
Finally, we found Cecil and Burris in an enclosed room, where Cecil was holding my shotgun and shooting at Burris.
Before I could say anything, Cecil had already pulled the trigger.
With a bang, a narrow-mouthed oval-bottomed glass bottle was shattered, and Burris, who had been standing on that table, was long gone.
"Ah! My plant potion!" Amanda screamed along with the broken glass bottle.
Not being able to wait any longer, I teleported to Cecil's side and put my hand on his shoulder, "Cecil ......"
Before the words to block could be uttered, Cecil suddenly aimed his blackened gun at me. In a daze, Cecil had pulled the trigger without hesitation.
Everything happened almost instantly, and at the critical moment, my body was taken out of place, but I still heard the dull sound of the bullet sinking into my flesh.
There was no pain; I hadn't been hit by the gun.
"Ugh!" A short cry of pain, I don't know who it was.
"Oh! Burris!" was Amanda's scream.
Burris had saved me again?
I looked down incredulously and sure enough it was Burris, he had fallen to the ground in pain and a puddle of blood was quickly gathering on the ground.
"Cheryl, are you okay?" Cecil put his gun away and ran to my side, looking me up and down.
"Whew, I'm glad you're okay." Relieved to see that I wasn't hurt Cecil then explained, "Sis, I didn't mean to, I thought you were the monster ......"
SMACK!
Not waiting for him to finish, I gave him a slap on the face.
"Cecil, I never taught you to be ungrateful."
I glared at Cecil and hurriedly ran to Burris.
"Burris, I'm sorry!"
I was on the verge of tears, Burris looked in bad shape.
He'd been shot in the back by Cecil, his shirt was completely soaked in blood, his eyes had turned blood red again, the purple meridians in his neck were protruding, and he was bleeding from the corners of his mouth ......
My shotgun was specially made by Tyrone, but any vampire that was hit would immediately turn to ash, perhaps because Burris was a Prince and barely withstood the blow.
But he'd just lost the power of his heritage, and I wasn't sure he'd make it through.
"Amanda, please, come help him." I looked to Amanda helplessly.
"Oh, I really shouldn't have saved you, is your heart corrupted by a demon?" Amanda gave Cecil a hard stare before coming over.
Cecil's hand was still on his cheek where I had punched him, not hearing Amanda's complaint seemingly, he just looked at me in confusion.
But I didn't have the energy to care about Cecil, I just wanted to pull Burris out of his misery as soon as possible.
"Don't worry, Cheryl, Burris will be fine." Amanda reassured me, then placed her hand on Burris' wound.
Amanda mouthed a spell and a green glow emerged from her hand, the kind of magic I had seen heal.
Perhaps because Amanda was a witch, she used her healing magic better than Burris, who gradually stopped struggling and his furrowed brow subsided.
I sighed in relief, only to realize that I had just been so nervous that I had pinched a few crescent-like blood marks on the palm of my hand.
Footsteps suddenly sounded next to me, and my newly relaxed nerves immediately tensed.
"Cheryl, why did you save this blood-sucking monster?" It was Cecil's voice.
I stepped in front of Burris and Amanda, frowned at Cecil, and warned, "Stop! Cecil, if you still want to be my brother, give me back my gun."
Cecil looked at me in dismay, as if he didn't know me.
"Why, Cheryl, why did you save him?" Cecil asked me stubbornly.
"Because he saved you and not only are you ungrateful but you want to kill him.Cecil, I clearly taught you how to tell good from bad, right from wrong, why are you still so paranoid?" I questioned Cecil in frustration.
"No, that's impossible, why would he save me? You must have made a deal with him." Cecil said excitedly.
"Yes, I did make a deal with him, but it's also true that he saved you." I wasn't going to hide it from Cecil, he had to grow up a little.
"I didn't need him to save! What kind of deal did you make with him?" Cecil suddenly stepped forward and grabbed me tightly by the shoulders, his face grim and scary.
"You calm down, Cecil," I frowned at him.
"What kind of deal did you make with this monster anyway?" Cecil asked stubbornly.
"She promised to come back to the manor with me and get married, so you better cut my fiancée loose, Cecil," Burris' low, sheepish voice sounded behind me.
I turned my head in surprise; Burris had risen from the ground, and although his face was still a little pale and his bloodied appearance was overly frightening, his eyes had regained their original color.
Amanda's magic sure is powerful!
The next second, I was pulled into Burris' arms and he looked at Cecil with cold eyes, "I didn't want my princess to give her life for another man, that's why I saved you, and if you ever offend me again, I won't be polite."
