Chapter 66

"There's a contract magic in the book that's perfect for Burris' current situation. But the magic requires someone with a lot of power, which might be a little unfair to you, Cheryl," Amanda said, looking at me.
"No, it's okay, I just need Burris to come back to life. I'll do anything to save him!" I said firmly.
"Okay, this magic needs to connect your life to Burris's. After that you will share power and life, but if one of you dies or is injured, the other's body will be changed in the same way." Amanda said looking at me.
I froze and looked at Amanda and smiled bitterly, "Actually that's kind of a romantic magic for me, I'm just not sure Burris would want that, after all I often get myself hurt."
"Of course Burris would, he loves you more than anything and he would protect you and himself for you. Put it that way, I think it's romantic magic too." Amanda said.
"Then let's get started." I said to Amanda.
Amanda nodded to me and told Duster to shoo everyone else out.
That's when a pretty little girl suddenly appeared in the doorway. She was wearing a plain white dress with some blood stains on the hem that looked like little red flowers for decoration.
She looked a bit like Burris, both with beautiful blonde hair and golden eyes.
"Oh my god, what happened to my brother?" She exclaimed looking at Burris in my arms, red-eyed and trying to run in when Duster stopped her.
I then realized it was Diana and Duster whispered a few explanations to her and led her out of the way.
"That's Diana, Burris' sister, and it was to awaken Diana that Burris grew old. But thanks to Diana commanding Howard's Legion to fight with us today, we wouldn't have been able to win otherwise." Amanda explained to me briefly as well.
"And Diana was willing to come to my rescue?" I was a little surprised, "Does she know that I killed her husband?"
"Of course, Burris told her. But Diana said she had you to thank for it, his husband was a jerk. diana ran into him sleeping with another woman in the first place and was so mad she ran away from home before she unfortunately got snuck up on by Tyrone." Amanda said.
"That's good, I was afraid she wouldn't like me." I breathed a sigh of relief.
"No, anyone who has met Cheryl will like the girl." Amanda said to me as she prepared the magical array.
She had a magical pocket, a bag that looked small but held a lot of things inside.
After the magic array was set up, I took my designated spot. amanda cut a wound on my wrist and Burris' wrist, then waved her magic wand and the red liquid leapt out of our wrists as if it was alive and met in mid air.
The process went on for a long time. Watching my blood and Burris' blood meld together, a thrill rose in me that I had never felt before.
Finally, after I don't know how long, Amanda stopped moving. The blood sped back into my wrists and Burris', and both of our wounds healed themselves.
Not just the wounds on our wrists, but all the wounds on my body and Burris' body healed. burris changed even more, his skin tightening again and his snow white hair turning light brown.
Burris changed from an old man to a young man, it wasn't a familiar look to me, but I knew he was my Burris.
I watched him nervously and expectantly, unaware that Amanda had left the room.
When Burris' body finally stopped changing, I saw his thick lashes flutter twice, then slowly open his eyes.
They were red eyes.
"Burris, Burris! Thank God, you're finally awake!" I flung myself into Burris' arms in excitement, tears rolling down my face once again, but this time they were tears of happiness.
Burris, who had been pounced on by me, hugged me tightly as well, smiling above my head and saying, "My sweet Cheryl, your tears are hotter than a poker, my heart is melting."
After a moment, I looked up intently at Burris, whose eyes had turned green.
A nice shade of green, too. Anything looks good as long as it's my Burris.
I couldn't help but raise my hand to stroke the lines of his features, and Burris ducked away a little, a little dejectedly, "Would you still love me the way I am, Cheryl, this face might not be so perfect?"
"Of course, honey, you're perfect." I cupped Burris's face and kissed him on the mouth, resting my forehead against his.
"Burris, I really do love you so much. I love your soul more than your flesh, and I never thought I would love anyone so much." I looked at Burris intently and couldn't resist kissing him again.
Burris responded to me passionately. To keep my balance, I placed my hands on Burris's pecs and Burris wrapped his arms around my waist.
This new flesh was actually quite nice, at least Burris's sexy muscles were still there. A nasty little thought rose in me and I rubbed my hand twice as hard on Burris' firm pecs.
"Hiss ......" Burris instantly sucked in a breath and let go of me.
He hooked his mouth up and smiled at me, his eyes doting and indulgent, and I loved it when he looked at me like that.
The tip of Burris' high nose rubbed against my face, all the way to my ear, and his voice, hiding his laughter, whispered in my ear, "Little devil! I love you too."
I followed his example and rubbed my face against his, too, before taking his earlobe.
"Will you marry me, Cheryl," Burris asked suddenly, his voice so soft it sounded like a chant when he was being lulled to sleep, and it carried its own compelling magic.
I couldn't help but grin and nod, my mouth slurring as I responded, "I will ......Burris."
Even without any compulsion, I would be willing.
......
Dennis's blood had fully awakened the power within me, and Burris shared that power with me. He unified the Campbells and the Howards and became the new vampire king.
Becoming King of the Vampires required a number of ceremonies, and Burris had his hands full. While I was at it, Duster and I took a trip back to Pittman.
I learned that Duster had originally buried Cecil next to me. I buried my shotgun and bow in it so that it could keep Cecil company for me.
"Cecil, my sister is getting married, I wish I had your blessing." I looked sadly at Cecil's picture on the headstone.
A bouquet of white daisies suddenly stuck out from beside me.
I froze for a moment as some unrealistic thoughts came into my head.
"Cecil ......" I turned my head expectantly, my voice stopping when I saw the person behind me.
I was still amazed at how the King of the Bloods, who was supposed to be in the worship of all, could be here.
"Burris, my king, what are you doing here?" I said in surprise.
It wasn't Cecil, but Burris was a different kind of surprise to me.
"Came to chase my runaway bride, I would be too useless as a king if I let all the princesses run off with the werewolves." Burris chuckled, sounding like he was teasing.
"I just asked Duster to bring me to see Cecil, and you were just too busy for me to tell you." I explained to Burris.
Burris came up and placed the flowers in front of the headstone, then came back to me.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and looked at me sincerely, "Cheryl, there is nothing more important than you. No matter what you want to do, I'm going to be there for you, even if I can only give you a hug."
"Okay, I remember, my king." I hooked my arms around Burris's neck and stood on my tiptoes to give him a kiss.
Burris hugged me smoothly as he said, "Cheryl, we have a long time ahead of us, and I will be with you until the end of my life."
End.
