Chapter 30

Burris and I went back to Tyrone's apartment, but it was long gone.
"Damn, they're gone!" I frowned in exasperation.
Burris gently tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Cheryl, if you'll trust me, I might be able to help you look at Cecil."
"Right!" I exclaimed, turning my head to look at him.
I feel like my eyes should be glowing at the moment.
"That's wonderful, I should have thought that nothing could be too hard for the Prince!"
I generously praised Burris, who was literally my angel at this moment.
Burris suddenly inclined his head and cocked the corner of his mouth.
From my line of sight, his beautiful golden eyes curved into an arc like twinkling stars.
"Come on, Cheryl, I don't think Cecil will last long." Burris walked quickly out the door.
"Good." I followed immediately.
Passing Tyrone's wine stash, I suddenly stopped dead in my tracks.
"What's wrong?" Burris asked me suddenly.
"This wine ......" I looked at the shards of glass scattered on the floor, and suddenly remembered some memory that I had once deliberately hidden away.
I think I had something to drink that night before I met Katelyn too.
It was Tyrone who gave me the wine!
No wonder the bottle looked a little familiar to me earlier.
And now I stopped because I smelled something familiar, something I had smelled only a short time ago.
I felt a little dizzy at the thought, as if all doubts had been explained.
"What's wrong with you Cheryl, you don't look too good." Burris came back to me and looked at me worriedly.
I felt a little weakness in my feet and couldn't resist putting my hand on Burris's strong arm.
"Burris, give me a taste of that potion again, will you?" My voice was even a little shaky.
The concern in Burris' eyes deepened as he pulled out the small brass bottle again and handed it to me.
I took the small bottle and held it in my hand, but didn't drink it right away. I went back into the chamber and knelt down, dipping my finger into a bit of the brown liquid that had fallen to the floor, and then putting the stained finger in my mouth.
A familiar taste. Undeterred, I took another sip from the bottle and it still tasted the same.
If my tastebuds weren't out of whack, then these two items would be one recipe.
"Burris, can you help me taste if these two things taste the same?" I pleaded with Burris.
Burris glanced at the water stain on the floor and visibly frowned. But when he turned his head to look at me, he sighed helplessly.
"Okay, I'll try." He said.
After the trial, Burris looked at me with some pity, and I thought he wouldn't say anything.
But Burris hesitated for just a moment and still told me, "Yes, the two liquids are the same."
Burris also thoughtfully summed it up for me when he said, "Cheryl, it was Tyrone who poisoned you in the first place, he was the one who made you look like a vampire."
"Ah-" I screamed, and then started frantically smashing the glass bottles in the place.
Some bottles contain corrosive liquids, some bottles contain sweet smelling liquids, and some bottles contain liquids that smoke ......
It's not booze. It's full of Tyrone's potion.
Burris still let me smash and vent until I collapsed in exhaustion before he came over and wrapped me in his arms.
"Cheryl, you actually guessed that already." Burris said in a calm voice.
But when I looked up at him, Burris's brows were close together.
Yes, I should have guessed that a long time ago, I just didn't want to think about it that way.
I could never have imagined that Tyrone would try to kill me so early on, when we were lovers.
I can understand Tyrone falling in love with someone else after my death, and I can understand Tyrone betraying Hunter Camp out of interest.
But I can't understand that in the midst of what I thought was sweet love, my significant other is thinking of plotting against me?
Tyrone was my first love, and I thought that at least the memories we had were good and pure. But it turns out that this relationship has long been stained.
My cheek suddenly tickled a little and I touched it, only to realize I was crying.
"It's okay, I just need a reprieve." I told Burris.
Burris patted me on the back and said gently, "Cry, Cheryl, this is the last time you'll shed a tear for that bastard, and after that you can be my royal consort in peace."
I couldn't help but smile bitterly and look up at him, only to find a serious expression on his face, "Thanks, that was a good joke."
"Oh, I'm not joking with you, Cheryl," Burris glared at me gravely, "How can the Prince be joking?"
I ignored him, sniffled, and left his arms.
"Well, we should get going." I said.
When we walked out of Burris' apartment, it was already light outside. But luckily it was a cloudy day and the sun wasn't out.
I took a hard breath of the fresh air outside and suddenly my heart felt lighter, as if there were no more impurities blocking it.
Today, I finally learned the truth about Cheryl's death!
Though this truth is somewhat harsh.
I took two more steps forward, but Burris didn't seem to follow.
I turned around and was surprised to find Burris had lit Tyrone's house on fire.
Noticing my gaze, Burris raised an eyebrow at me smugly.
"Want to give it a shot? He deserves a little punishment." Burris said.
The act was a bit childish, but it made me feel sore. I also went over and set a few fires, the tongues of which spread halfway across the sky and completely burned the Tyrone in me to ashes.
After making sure every corner was covered in fire, Burris and I finally got out of there.
When we got back to the hotel, Cecil still hadn't woken up. He was still convulsing and cold sweat from his forehead was wetting his pillow.
I changed Cecil's pillow and my newly relaxed heart clenched again as I watched him.
"Burris, save him!" I pleaded with Burris.
Worried that Burris wouldn't, I offered another condition, "I'll give you all my blood if you can save him, so you can save your sister too."
I thought it would be a tempting offer for Burris, after all, he's always wanted to use me to save his sister.
But when I said that, Burris's face was a little grim and looked upset.
"I don't like making deals with you, Cheryl, it would make me sad." Burris said looking at me seriously.
I froze for a moment, not understanding what he meant by that statement and not having any extra time to think about it.
"Then can you save Cecil? He's the only family I have." I asked Burris again.
Burris' expression looks a little grim as he shifts his eyes back to Cecil's.
After a moment's hesitation, he told me, "Cheryl, I must tell you that Cecil is not poisoned."
"What?" I froze, my eyes full of confusion, wondering, "Then how did he get to be the way he is?"
"Cecil is struck with an ancient curse that is more of a headache than a poison." Burris said with a frown.
A curse? I looked at Cecil in shock, how could he be cursed?
