Chapter 37

"Cheryl, is it true what he said?" Cecil asked looking at me.
Burris looked down at me as well.
After a moment of hesitation, I nodded at their forced stare, "Yes, Cecil, I will marry Burris back at the manor, but you will always be my brother."
"No, how can you you marry this monster!" Cecil took a step back in disbelief.
I looked at Cecil sadly and said, "Cecil, every time I hear you say that, I feel bad because I'm now the same vampire you loathe."
"I appreciate that you made a deal with the devil with your soul to give me the chance to be reborn, but if you knew in advance that I would become a vampire, would you still do it?" I asked Cecil.
"Yes, I didn't want you to die, but I didn't want you to be like this either" Cecil said in pain.
"But I'm already like this Cecil, I owe it to you, Burris used his powers to get you back, now I don't owe you only him." I advised patiently, hoping Cecil would understand my helplessness.
"I'm not going to change my decision, if you can't accept it you go back to Pittman. i've told the others the truth about Tyrone being a vampire and they won't give you a hard time about it." I continued.
"Tyrone's a vampire too?" Cecil said shocked.
"Yes, not only is Tyrone a vampire, but he has a nasty deal with another vampire family who turned me into a vampire because I almost found out his secret, all because of Tyrone the bastard." I said in a cold voice.
"So I have so many vampires around me, sister, turn me into a vampire too!" Cecil looked a little disheveled.
"Oh no, of course not, being a vampire is not a good thing." I frowned at him.
"Your sister's right." Burris interjected as well.
I gave Burris a look and he smiled at me, leaning down to my ear and saying, "Cheryl, you're such a responsible sister, I'm a little jealous of Cecil."
"Bastard, you better let go of my sister!" Cecil raised his gun at Burris again.
I noticed then that Burris had still been holding me, but now I was more nervous about the shotgun in Cecil's hand.
Amanda cast her spell and went to rest off to the side, seeing as how healing magic was also physically demanding. I wasn't sure if Burris would be able to save him if he got shot again Amanda.
"Cecil, give me the gun!" I raised my voice and took a step forward to meet the muzzle of the gun.
"Cheryl!"
"Sister!"
Two nervous voices sounded at the same time.
While Cecil was walking away, I immediately stepped forward and gripped his wrist with a firm twist. The shotgun then fell from his grip into my palm.
"Cecil, as punishment, you're only allowed to use a crossbow from now on, got it?" I smacked Cecil hard on the head with the butt of the gun.
Cecil didn't know whether to rub his wrist or his head, so he just frowned and looked at me accusingly.
"You're supposed to give me a reply." I lifted the butt of my gun again.
"Got it ......," Cecil whispered.
"Ha!" Burris snorted a sudden laugh.
Cecil was about to lunge forward again with both empty hands, and I immediately pulled him back with one hand, giving Burris another reproachful look back.
"Cecil, you're a grown man of eighteen now, don't be so impulsive all the time." I coached to Cecil.
"Hmph." Burris grunted again.
I turned back and glared at Burris impatiently, "Do you want to say something? Lord Prince?"
"Hmm." Burris raised a lower eyebrow and said seriously, "I hope you can be a little less impulsive even after you become my Prince Consort."
"Oh, Burris, if I didn't see that you were wounded, I'd give you a shot too." I waved the butt of my gun in my hand at Burris.
"You guys are so much like family." Amanda suddenly chuckled from the side.
I scowled in embarrassment as Cecil glared at Burris and retorted directly, "I'm not family with this monster, I only have Cheryl."
Prince Burris echoed in disgust, "Lowly humans and noble bloods can never be family."
Amanda and I looked at each other, both seeing the helplessness in the other's eyes.
"Well Cecil, tell me what you're going to do next." I pulled Cecil, who was about to strike out with Burris, to a halt.
"What's the plan?" Cecil looked at me in confusion.
I had to explain, "Are you going back to Pittman? Or are you going somewhere else?"
Cecil's eyes widened as he questioned me, "Are you going to abandon me? Cheryl."
"You're going to follow me all the way?" I was surprised too.
"Of course, you're all I've got, and I'm going to follow you wherever you go." Cecil said insistently.
"But ......," I frowned, trying to talk him down again, "I'm going back to his estate with Burris, there are a lot of vampires there and I can't protect you all the time."
"Cheryl, don't worry, I can protect myself, I'll follow you wherever you go as long as you don't abandon me." Cecil said with red eyes.
"Of course I won't abandon you, I'm just worried about you." I felt embarrassed.
"Cheryl, let Cecil go. No one will hurt him with me around, just so he can hand you over to me at our wedding." Burris put a hand on my shoulder.
"No way, I'll convince my sister to leave you before that happens!" Cecil said menacingly to Burris.
Burris ignored him and just looked at me with a smile, "How about this idea Cheryl?"
"Fine, but I need to make it clear to you first." I looked up at him and said coldly, "If Cecil gets hurt, I'll kill the person who hurt him."
Burris shrugged unconcernedly and said, "No problem, I can help you if you encounter a Blood that you can't kill."
For some reason, Burris's words suddenly made my heart beat fast.
"Sis, I can defend myself." Cecil said disgruntled.
I ignored Cecil's accusation and gave a direct order, "Then we'll leave tomorrow, first help Amanda clean up the house today, especially Cecil needs to do more work, that's what you should do."
"Great Cheryl, you're just so cool!" Amanda exclaimed.
