Chapter 33
"Oh, let me see, Burris's lovely fiancée."
Suddenly, an exaggerated voice rang out from the living room, sounding like a childish girl.
I was startled and immediately looked up to find the source of the sound.
But just as I raised my head, a dark shadow lunged at me. I subconsciously tried to raise my hand to strike the black shadow, but it had already pounced close to my arms.
Because of the unstable gravity, both the dark figure and I fell on our backs on the carpet.
Fortunately, the carpet was thick enough here that I didn't feel any pain, and the dark figure in my arms simply held me.
I looked at the girl in my arms with some shock, not knowing what to do for a moment.
The girl was wearing a large black cape, and the tremendous impact just now didn't lift off her hood. Her face was round in shape, with some freckles on either side of her nose, a bit of flesh on her cheeks, and good skin.
She was a head shorter than me, slightly chubby and clinging to my breasts but clearly a very cute little lolita.
"Amanda, you're so enthusiastic, Cheryl might be intimidated by you." Burris walked slowly down the stairs.
Hearing Burris' words, I then reacted to the fact that Lori was Amanda, the witch who could save Cecil.
I surreptitiously dropped my hands that were ready to push Amanda away and met her brown eyes, barely managing to pull out a friendly smile.
Amanda smiled back at me, and she had a lovely smile, her mouth grinning a slit to reveal the shell-like teeth inside.
"Okay Amanda, you can get up off Cheryl now." Burris walked up to us.
"Burris, you don't act like you're asking for my help, you're getting really petty." Amanda said unhappily, still getting out of my way.
Hearing her say that, I immediately pulled Amanda in, "Anything you want, as long as you can save my brother."
Amanda was already on her feet and I was still sitting on the carpet.
After hearing me out, she suddenly bent down and gave me a kiss on the cheek, smiling, "Cheryl you're so cute, don't worry, I was just kidding with Burris."
I rubbed my cheek, a little surprised that the witches were all so enthusiastic.
"So you don't want anything?" I asked, puzzled.
"Yes, this is my gift to you all." Amanda said with a smile.
I froze for a moment, glancing at Burris unnaturally before I realized he was looking at me too.
Meeting my eyes, Burris smiled softly.
I didn't know how I was going to explain it to Amanda, and a question popped into my head.
Burris said he wouldn't drain me anymore, so why does he keep following me?
I just haven't had a chance to ask Burris yet and have to focus on Cecil again.
"Then please take a quick look at my brother, Amanda," I pleaded with Amanda.
Amanda and Burris both acted so relaxed that I thought lifting Cecil's curse shouldn't be a problem.
But it didn't turn out quite the way I thought it would.
Amanda examined Cecil's body, and like Burris, she took another close look at the parchment scroll.
During this process, Amanda's face became increasingly ugly.
"What's wrong, Amanda?"
I was so nervous my palms were sweating and my heart felt like it was being lifted.
"You guys have to tell me who this child is setting up the magic for?" Amanda said seriously.
Burris gave me a look before replying, "Amanda, you have to promise not to tell anyone."
Amanda frowned and shook her head, "Burris, I can't vouch for that, in fact, it's a magical formation banned by the Witch Clan and contains a curse from the Devil that I can't undo alone."
"And ......" Amanda gave me a look before continuing, "If the curse is lifted, the magic will also fail and the reborn will go to hell, replacing the cursed person as a slave to the devil. "
I was holding the glass with the plasma in it, the drink Amanda had just used to serve us.
At that moment, when I heard Amanda's words, my fingers shook and the glass landed on the carpet, the plasma staining the pretty carpet.
"Sorry!" I immediately went to get a paper towel and tried to wipe the carpet clean.
Amanda suddenly came over and took my hand, she was strangely strong and I couldn't move at all with her pulling me.
"Cheryl, tell me, did you make Cecil use the magic spell? Do you know that his soul is tormented in hell?" Amanda lost her initial enthusiasm and became very cold.
I've never been to hell, but this word, which often appears in curses, can make people afraid and angry as a result when they hear it.
"No, it's not me!" I screamed to explain, but inside I felt guilty once again.
The thought of Cecil suffering in hell for me made my heart shrink in pain.
"Amanda! Let her go!"
Burris teleported over and threw Amanda right out of the way.Amanda was almost about to hit the wall, but suddenly floated in mid-air, mumbling something I couldn't understand.
"Burris, you are so rude!" Amanda slowly landed on the ground, puffing out her cheeks in anger.
Burris lifted me off the floor and half-straddled my waist.
He looked at Amanda with cold eyes and said unpleasantly, "You shouldn't be rude to my fiancée."
"But you should know that witches fear the devil and they shouldn't make deals with the devil." Amanda said.
"It's not Cheryl's fault you don't understand human emotions. all Cecil wanted to do was save his sister and Cheryl didn't know that beforehand, she didn't want to become a vampire, much less have her brother go to hell." Burris said with a frown.
I couldn't help but glance at Burris with a strange, warm feeling in my heart.
"Well, maybe I don't understand, but I guess I should tell you all I know and you make your own choices." Amanda said.
"I'm sorry Amanda, please tell me everything." I pleaded with Amanda.
Amanda sighed and said, "If you want to undo the spell, I'll have to find other witches to help, and I won't always be able to find them. The process is dangerous, and no witch wants to take someone from the devil."
"And Cheryl will die again and go to hell to become a slave of the devil."
"I'm willing to go to hell if I can find a witch to help me, I'm willing to be ......" I said.
"No! Cheryl, you can't make a decision like that." Burris interrupted me immediately and glared at me with a fierce look in his eyes.
I frowned at Burris and said seriously, "Burris, you are in no position to make decisions for me. You're right, I don't want to become a vampire."
"Cheryl, you will regret this, being a slave to the devil will be harder on you than a vampire." Burris said in a cold voice.
"It's okay, you leave me alone, Burris," I said with a choked voice.
"Wait, there's another way!"
Burris frowned and was about to say something when Amanda suddenly spoke again.
Burris and I immediately looked over at her.
Amanda tugged on her hood and said, "Demons love to make deals, they need slaves as well as power, and you can trade Cecil back for power if you want."
Power. What kind of power?
Amanda's voice suddenly became low as she looked to Burris, "Cheryl's power has not yet awakened, Burris, would you be willing to trade the power of your heritage?"
