Chapter 125: Pancakes
*There has never been a sadness that can’t be cured by breakfast food. – Ron Swanson*
Reese pulled Helen closer to him and rested his hand over her belly. He nibbled on her neck as she began to stir.
“Pancakes.” She murmured as she started to move.
“Does my Kitten want pancakes.”
“Mmmmmm….” She made a small purring noise that had caused her nickname. “With bacon.”
“You want pancakes and bacon?” he lightly bit her ear.
“I want pancakes with bacon inside them.” She rolled to her back and looked up at him. “That sounds weird, doesn’t it?”
“If my Kitten wants pancake covered bacon, then that’s what she’s going to get.” He told her before he kissed her.
Slipping her arms around his neck, she sank into the kiss. Reese groaned as he moved over her, settling between her legs as she wrapped them around his waist. He shifted to take a nipple into his mouth. Helen arched into his touch and let out a soft moan.
“Monster!” JD screamed as Dean yelled no.
It was the only warning that they received before the dog barreled through the closed door and bounded onto the bed. He dropped his headless horseman next to Helen and pawed at Reese’s head. The laugh started out small and soon they were both shaking and trembling.
Knowing from Christmas that his mom and Reese both slept in the nude, JD stood at the end of the hallway. There were things that he could never unsee. Ever. No matter how hard he tried. As he stood at the end of the hall looking at the now open bedroom door, he could still see the other man.
Naked.
Tatted.
Pierced.
And he had gotten Helen pregnant.
JD knew how that happened. He knew what they had to do for it to happen. And after the conversation with Bunny, and several with his counselor, Olivia, he accepted it.
But he did not need to see the act itself.
He looked at Dean with terror in his eyes. “I’m not going down that hall.”
“You think *I* want to see what happens in there?” she asked with a similar look.
They stood at the edge of the kitchen and tried to figure out how to get the dog. Monster had his current favorite stuffed baby. The treat box was across the driveway. All of his ropes and squeaky toys were in the run.
As they continued this debate, Reese walked down the hall, carrying a sad looking Monster. His head rested on Reese’s shoulder as he looked back at the door that was once again closed. A sad whimper ended the discussion between the two teens.
“I told you before, Monster, Dean is your girl.” Reese chuckled.
He gave a sad half woof half whimper as Reese sat him down.
“We tried to keep him out of the room.” Dean admitted and held up the lead. Monster had pulled the lead so hard that the leather snapped off just behind the clasp.
“Little Monster.” Reese said with humor in his voice as he washed his hands. “Has he been out to the run yet?”
“No, he bolted from me when JD opened the door.” Dean admitted looking at the dog slowly making his way back down the hall on his belly. “I never thought that he’d leave me for an older woman.”
“Go put him out and then we’ll make breakfast.” Reese said as he got bacon out of the fridge. “Monster, if you want pancakes with your Helen, you need to go out to the run.”
“For pancakes, I’ll go to the run.” JD mumbled as he got Monster by the collar and guided him back outside.
By the time that Helen walked down the hall, dressed and ready for work, the bacon was cooked, and the pancake batter was mixed up. She sat down at the island and grabbed a piece of bacon.
Reese laid three pieces of bacon on the freshly cleaned griddle and then put some batter over them.
“What the hell?” Dean asked.
“Oh, that smells so good!” Helen smiled at Reese.
“Just wait, little princess.” He said with a grin before he kissed the top of his niece’s head. “Your mom lived off buffalo wings when she was pregnant with you.”
“Mom didn’t like buffalo wings.” Dean said. “Mom didn’t like anything spicy.”
“But you do.” Reese pointed out.
He grinned at her shocked look as he flipped the pancakes on the griddle.
“You’re saying that mom ate buffalo wings because she was pregnant with me?”
“Pregnancy does strange things to you.” Helen agreed. “And a lot of your personal tastes start in the womb.”
“What did you eat when you were pregnant with me?” JD asked his mom.
She smiled as she watched the pancakes be moved onto a plate. “A lot of Mexican.”
Reese grabbed the syrup out of the cabinet and sat it down walking around the island. The plate with her pancakes and a fork were placed in front of Helen. Tipping her face up, he kissed her.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.” She murmured.
The two teens looked at each other and made exagerated goo-goo eyes at each other.
“But you love those pancakes a little more right now.”
“Perhaps.” Helen blushed and Reese chuckled as he moved back around to the stove.
“Who else wants some pancakes?”
“Can I have my bacon on the side?” Dean asked as Helen moaned in food pleasure. “Or maybe just money for breakfast?”
“I’m taking you to school this morning.” Reese said. “Are you sure that you want to go to Edison?”
“Yeah. Washington just doesn’t feel…” she shrugged as she sought the right word, “right. I really don’t know how to explain it. Everyone treated me different.”
“Coach is ready for you to start.” JD said as he watched his mom devour the pancakes. “I think I want mine like moms.”
“Okay.” Reese said as he flipped the ones he was cooking for Dean. “You probably won’t have any classes with JD.”
“I know.” Dean nodded her head as she grabbed a piece of bacon.
“And I don’t want to get a call or email about you two making out in the hallway.”
She nodded again under his watchful eye before he gave a warning look at JD.
“Believe me, I know." JD admitted as he gave an involuntary shudder. "You’re still scary.”
