Chapter 195: First Birthday
*Most of our childhood is stored not in photos, but in certain biscuits, lights of day, smells, textures of carpet. – Alain de Botton*
Reese sat on the outdoor couch on the lower deck watching the girls in the pool with the babies. Cheryl, Bunny, Dean and Allison, the only female Seabee that came with JD, each had a baby in their arms as they bounced and spun. Watching her children and grandchild smile and laugh, Helen snuggled into his side, and he pulled her into his lap.
She had lost most of her baby weight, and currently had made her way back into size eighteen dresses, which she was quite proud of. Today she wore the dress that Reese had bought her specifically for the birthday party. A pink satin shift with a cream-colored mesh overdress with pink and blue flowers embroidered on it.
Earlier in the day she had also been in the pool in a pink swimsuit with a sheer fish scale skirt that Reese had a hard time looking away from. He had plans to spend many hours later that night between those thighs.
Kissing the top of her head, he tightened his arms around his wife. “Did you have fun today?”
“I did.” She smiled. “I know that they won’t remember it…”
“But we will. All of us will.” He finished. “Even more, we’ll remember the whole weekend. Hell, the whole month. Dean’s graduation and her mural. The birthday parties. JD being home. Jaxon’s commitment ceremony.”
She ran a hand up his bare chest, over his multitude of tattoos. Her fingers lightly grazing his new tattoo over his chest. Puzzle pieces linked together forming a large heart over the one in his chest. All the names of his children were on display. Cheryl and her two half-brothers, Helen’s three grown children, their triplets and Dean.
“Does it still hurt?”
“It’s tender,” he stated. “But there is no more pain.”
“Does it hurt when you get them?”
“Mild stinging. Sometimes a little pain.” Tipping her chin up, he smiled at her. “Nothing like getting your nipples pierced.”
“That was well worth the pain.” Her voice was a husky whisper that went straight to his cock.
“You ever thought about piercing anything else?” his own voice melting her core.
She swallowed hard, almost a gulp. Once. Twice. Before she found her voice. “What… what would I pierce?”
His smile told her exactly what he was thinking of. Shifting on his lap, she pressed her thighs together as a soft moan escaped her. His smile intensified and turned sinister as his eyes darkened.
“You seem to know exactly what I was thinking about getting pierced.” His hand slid up her thigh, his fingers sliding under her pink dress, gently caressing the top of her leg.
“Reese…” she hissed.
Chuckling, he kissed her before moving to her neck. “I like it better when you scream my name.”
“Our kids are only about forty feet away.” She reminded him as his fingers brushed against the blue and pink garter of her rope harness.
A whimper escaped her as he nipped at her neck just below her ear.
“Half of them either have babies of their own or are practicing how to make them.” He murmured against her skin. “And the other three are too damned young to care.”
“Reese!” she hissed again as his hand slid between her thighs just above her knees and gently pried them apart.
“You know what to say if you want me to stop.”
Helen had used the safe word only three times in her entire relationship with Reese. The first night when he wanted her to know that she was safe with him. The following morning when she had been so embarrassed at work. And that first Thanksgiving Day when she didn’t know what else to do.
She knew that if she said Mermaid, he would stop immediately. No questions asked. He would remove them from the situation and not return until she felt safe again. Or he would make everyone leave.
But she also knew that he would not push her further than she was willing to go. He knew her limits and although he pushed them and pushed her to grow, he never made her uncomfortable.
“You do realize that’s how I ended up being a big brother, right?” JD yelled from the far side of the pool.
“Mind your own business!” Reese called back with a smile as Helen buried her blushing face in his chest.
“Really? Maybe I shouldn’t tell you that Dean and I were going to offer to watch the babies so that you could take my mother to the club.”
“What kind of club?” Cooper asked from where he sat next to JD.
Cooper and Allison were the only two that were still there from the unit. She would be going with her fiancé tomorrow to visit her family in Florida for a week while Cooper would go back to Gulfport with JD.
His friend just smirked at him as the others snickered.
“I feel like we’re missing something.” Allison observed as her fiancé, Seth, and Cooper agreed.
“A BDSM sex club.” Dean finally said as she spun Janelle around and she laughed.
“Dee-dee!” Janelle squealed when Dean stopped, and the little girl bounced in her arms and slapped at the water.
“You want to stay with your Dee-Dee tonight?” Dean asked and all four babies started saying Dee-Dee.
“Be careful, buddy.” Cooper laughed. “Your woman might get baby fever.”
“I’ve got plenty of babies, right now.” Dean replied as they all made their way to the edge of the pool.
“She gets a baby after she graduates college.” JD said as he accepted his baby sister from Allison.
Jaina looked at him with those eyes that seemed to see way more than they should. He always felt as though the youngest of the triplets was always judging him.
And maybe finding him lacking.
But after a moment, she leaned against his chest, placed a thumb in her mouth and closed her eyes. JD kissed the top of her little head and rubbed her little back with his large hand.
“Damn it, you’re making me want a baby.” Allison admitted as she looked over at her fiancé who had driven out from Florida to pick her up.
“I’ve got a hotel room if you want to go work on that tonight.” He offered.
“Or you can go to the sex club with JD’s mom.” Cooper laughed.
“Or my sister. Or brother.” JD shrugged. “At this point, I think I’m the only one who hasn’t been.”
His fellow Seabees and Seth looked at him with surprised wide eyes.
“Have you been?” Allison asked Dean once she found her voice.
She nodded. “I had lunch with some of the subs last week. I haven’t been anywhere but the restaurant side of the club. I have been to the newer one, but it wasn’t open at the time.”
“Why were you at Riot?” Jaxon asked as he took his daughter and wrapped her up in a large towel.
“I painted the Stonewall mural.” She said knowing that he would know what she was talking about.
“Maybe we should stay home and let you two go.” Reese said as he took Jagger from Cheryl. “Maybe go show off your other mural.”
“No. I’m planning on a quiet night with my wife.” JD smiled at Dean over Jaina’s head, then he leaned in and kissed her.
“Dude,” Cooper laughed, “my room is right down the hall from you two. You don’t know what a quiet night is.”
Holding his sister with one arm, he wrapped the other one around his wife’s shoulders and winked at his friend. The couple and two babies snuggled together creating the picture perfect family and Cooper found himself feeling a pang of jealousy.
