Chapter 157: Parking Lot

*One day you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through and it will be someone else’s survival guide. – Brene Brown*
Jolene stepped out of the Family Advocacy Center and looked up at the sky. She closed her eyes and soaked in the sunshine with a small smile. Reaching up, she touched the spider web necklace that she had yet to ask Neo to remove. The weight of it brought her comfort. The little spider gave her confidence.
The hair on the back of her neck prickled as she felt someone close to her. Then there was a small breeze, and she smelled the cologne that engulfed her at night. Her smile widened and when she opened her eyes, she was looking up at Neo.
“Shouldn’t you be at work?”
“I’m the boss.” He shrugged as he smiled down at her. “I get to do whatever I want.”
Jolene laughed because she knew that he was lying. He might not be in the office, but he would still be working. While he had been waiting on her, he had probably been on his phone or tablet. Or both.
“You don’t believe me?” he asked with a lopsided grin, and she shook her head. “Let me prove it to you. Let’s go have lunch.”
She said the name of the little café that she and the ‘Saturday Crew’ went to after getting their nails done. He shook his head just before he cupped her cheek and leaned down to kiss her.
“I want to take you somewhere special.” He said softly.
“Cognac?”
Neo chuckled. “He owns part of the club. But he also has a silent partner on it.”
“Who?”
Neo leaned in close to her ear to whisper. “Me.”
“I didn’t know that you owned any clubs.”
“Just part of this one. I want to show you the other side of me. But I want you to know that you are always safe with me. I will never hurt you.”
She stiffened and he saw the fear in her eyes.
“He probably said that too. But he didn’t keep you safe.”
“I’m scared.” She admitted softly.
“I know.” He smiled at her. “I just want to show you. There doesn’t have to be anything else.”
“Promise?” she asked.
“Always, pet. I love you, Jo. I won’t hurt you. Ever.”
After a moment she nodded, and he relaxed. He looked down at the black and red bandage dress with a corset bodice. The skirt ended just above her knees, and she had on fine fishnet stockings and black kitten heels.
“You look really pretty today.”
“Clothes that I like keep ending up in my closet.”
“You might need a bigger closet.”
“I like my little apartment.” She told him.
“So do I. it’s right next to mine.”
Jolene rolled her eyes as she smiled up at him. Leaning down, Neo kissed her lightly before guiding her to the nearby SUV. They chatted easily about her upcoming classes to finish off her teaching degree.
“I’m really glad that I dropped some of my classes last semester.” she admitted. “I think I needed a little more time to work on me.”
“Just make sure that you don’t overdo it.” He advised.
“I won’t. I’ve learned more about me in the past year. Did I ever tell you that I actually started thinking about leaving him around the time classes started last fall?”
“No. What brought that on?” he turned onto a road and Jolene wondered where they were going.
“The more determined he got to becoming a sergeant, the more I felt like I didn’t know him. He was becoming someone else.” She was quiet for a moment. “He flew his mistress out to Hawaii for our wedding. Her room was right next to his.”
“I’m sorry Jo.” Neo turned into a gated lot and pulled around to the back of the building.
“Where are we?”
“It’s simply called the Private Club.” He said as he pulled into a parking spot.
“This is where Jaxon goes, isn’t it?”
“Yes.” He admitted as he removed his seatbelt and turned towards her. “It’s a sex club.”
Blushing, she looked at him. “We haven’t even … had sex.”
“I know. But I’ve thought about it. If I’m being honest, I’ve thought about it a lot.” Caressing her cheek, Neo ran a thumb across her lower lip. “Trust *has* to be a major part of the relationship before we go in there. You *have* to trust me to take care of you. And I *have* to trust you to tell me when you’re reaching your limits.”
They sat in silence for a moment before she took and released a deep breath.
“What’s the first step?” she asked quietly.
“Consent.”
Jolene looked at him in confusion.
“Consent is always the first step. You have to consent to being my sub. I have to consent to being your Dom. After that comes knowledge and understanding.”
“What will it entail?”
“Whatever we agree on.”
“I won’t do anal.”
“I’ve never seen the attraction of sticking my dick in someone’s ass.” He smirked. “I have, however, seriously thought about bending you over my lap and spanking your lovely ass until it is a lovely shade of pink.”
She looked away and he gently grasped her chin and turned her face towards him.
“It’s not like what he did. Although I will dominate you, you will be in charge.”
“How?” she asked quietly. “That makes no sense.”
“You will pick a word, or use the club safe word, and when you say it, I stop. We don’t do anything if you are not comfortable.”
“What’s the club safe word?”
“Lollipop.”
“Lollipop.” Jolene repeated.
Neo nodded. “I don’t have a dungeon or playroom at the big house. Not something that I want where I do business. If you’re not ready for this, we don’t go in today.”
“Is it all out in public? In there?”
“There are common spaces. You have to be a member or guest to enter. Everybody signs a confidentiality agreement. If you don’t sign, you don’t go in. It’s closed right now, there is no one else inside. It’s just you and me right now.”
“I don’t want to see my mom or brother here.”
“They both have private playrooms at their homes.”
Her eyes widened in surprise, and he couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Ty’s is in the basement and Reese has a bio lock on his. Ty and Jaxon usually come early Saturday morning when Bunny goes with you ladies. Neither of the new mommas have been in for several months,” he smirked and shrugged a shoulder, “for obvious reasons.”
They sat there for several minutes and then she removed her seat belt and opened the door. Neo grinned as he turned off the engine and opened his own door.
