Chapter 135: Meeting
*I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be. – Robert N. Munsch*
Jaxon was confused over the group message that he got from Pax.
*Company meeting. Need everyone here. Saturday 4*
And then the following one that came only to him.
*Sorry about the short notice. Hope the vacay was good. P*
Vacay? When did Pax start saying vacay? You leave for a few days and the whole world turns upside down. Okay, so it was almost a week. But still.
The week away was great. He had never seen his family be so happy before. Helen was practically glowing after a week in Hawaii. Jolene hadn’t seemed so relaxed in years, even with the guards. JD was thrilled to be there with Dean. And he, himself, enjoyed the week with both his partners.
Saturdays had become the day that the girls went and did their thing at the nail salon. And the day that Jaxon and Ty had to themselves. Even after flying in yesterday, today was still their day.
Currently, they lay in bed with Ty spooned up around Jaxon. Their legs were tangled from their earlier activities and their bodies still damp with sweat. Jaxon linked his fingers with the darker ones on his abdomen.
Ty kissed Jaxon’s neck. “How long until you need to get ready?”
“We’ve got a little longer.” He pressed his back into the other man’s chest and moaned when he felt Ty hardening against his ass.
“Behave.” Ty warned as he nipped at the pale shoulder.
“And if I don’t?”
“Don’t push it.”
Jaxon looked over his shoulder and smiled at the other man. Ty squinted his eyes as Jaxon pushed his ass back against the hard shaft.
“You don’t have the time.” Ty warned. “Unless we go get in the shower.”
The shower took longer than they had anticipated, and Jaxon did not leave the house until a little after three. It only took him about thirty minutes to get to the Paxton Freight lot, but he always liked to arrive early. Even for unscheduled companywide meetings.
The lot was already filled with vehicles. Some he recognized as those who worked in the garage. A few were from drivers that always asked for Jaxon. He even picked out Pax and Junior’s vehicles.
His regular spot was being used, and he had to park in one of the spots close to the office. Usually there were ones that were quickly filled. His spot at the back of the garage was usually one of the last taken. He parked his pickup and got out, grabbing his drink and locking the doors as he walked up to the door.
Cold air hit him as he walked into the building, and he heard the voices coming from the break room. Following the sounds, he walked in and found the entire company waiting for…
Him.
“There he is!” Pax yelled.
“Hi…” Jaxon mumbled quietly.
“Hey. Where’s the other two?” Junior asked.
“The other two?” Jaxon asked. He was confused. Was he supposed to pick someone up? Was he supposed to bring someone? He didn’t remember getting a message about either of those.
“Jaxon?” Ty called out from the reception area.
Jaxon stepped back out of the breakroom and looked down the hall. Standing by the front door was Ty and Bunny.
“What are you two doing here?” Jaxon asked as they moved towards him.
“Pax called and said that we needed to come in.” Ty said as the three of them stepped into the breakroom.
“Come sit down, momma.” Pax ordered and he motioned to the chair decorated in pink.
She sat down and immediately received a pink sash declaring her to be *Mommy to Be* in white. Ty and Jaxon also received pink sashes declaring them each to be *Girl Dad in Training* in silver. The two men were pushed into chairs that were equally draped in pink.
“So, we tried to ask Jaxon about a baby shower and he hemmed and hawed and would never give us a direct answer.” Pax said. “But I still have your mother’s number. And she is so thrilled to be a grandma.”
“Pax…” Jaxon swallowed and tried to find his voice.
“Nope.” Pax pointed at his oldest son. “He headed it up.”
Junior grinned. “What can I say, I’m a sucker for babies.”
“Fucking faggots.” Bill grumbled in the corner loud enough for everyone to hear.
“You got a problem?” Pax asked.
“I’m not working with a damned faggot.” He complained.
“Then pack your shit and get the hell out.” Junior told him.
“You don’t have any authority here.” Bill sneered.
“Considering he owns a quarter of the company and will be taking my place when I retire, I’d say he does.” Pax corrected. “And if you find a job, any job, without a, what did you call my son? A faggot? You’re either delusional or they are scared that you’ll do something to them.”
Bill looked from father to son. “Look, Pax, I didn’t mean your son…”
“Only because you now know he’s your boss. You can clean out your bay today or on Monday. Or you can get over yourself and enjoy the celebration of a new life.”
With that, Pax turned away from the man and motioned for the first gift to be given to the parents to be. James handed over an envelope with the name of his wife’s salon on it.
“My wife has a hair salon that specializes in black girl hair. Ty can tell you that our hair is different from yours.”
Ty patted his hair that was quickly turning into an afro. “Oh yeah.”
“Exactly,” the other mechanic agreed. “And trust me, little black girl hair takes a lot of work.”
“All girl hair takes a lot of work.” Ramona declared and most of the women in the room agreed.
“All I know is my girls can’t sit still to save their lives except for the hours that it takes to do their braids.” James chuckled. “They become perfect angels during that time. Anyway, she said to come by anytime, before or after the baby and she’ll teach you how to take care of black girl hair.”
“Thank you.” Bunny murmured.
She knew that Ty had to take care of his hair differently than either she or Jaxon did. But she had not thought about the baby’s hair.
Ty looked at the other black man with a slight embarrassed expression. “What if Jaxon is the dad?”
James shrugged. “Wait until you are the daddy. I doubt that this will be the only baby you three have.”
“Thanks, James.” Jaxon said as he and Ty soothed Bunny as she swiped at tears in her eyes.
“I’m sorry.” Bunny said as both of her men rubbed her back. “I cry over everything.”
Ramona chuckled as she handed the expectant mother a large bag. “I remember those days.”
“You can remember that far back, Row?” Junior teased.
“You be nice, little boy.” She advised watching as Bunny pulled out tissue paper. “Your momma said that you were doing a faery theme.”
The large crocheted blanket started to unfold as it came out of the bag. On a blue-sky background with flowers around the edges, faeries, butterflies and dragonflies were caught in midflight. A matching crocheted faery doll fell out and Ty caught it just before it hit the ground.
“This is beautiful, Ramona.” Jaxon smiled at the older woman.
“Gives these old hands something to do.” She replied with her own smile. “That baby of yours is going to be after I leave, you better let me know when she gets here.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Jaxon agreed as he went over and hugged the woman. “You’ll know before Pax does.”
Pax huffed from where he sat, but it was hard for him not to smile.
