Chapter 139
KATE
Being here now made the idea seem ten times worse.
The car was parked in front of his parents' house. Nathan unbuckled his seatbelt, and his gaze landed on me.
"What?" he asked.
He wet his lips, and a mischievous smile appeared on his face. "This is going to be interesting."
"Telling your parents about us? If you're trying to calm me down, it's not working."
"I can't wait to take off this dress. I want to do it now."
"No. Are you crazy?"
Damn it. He wasn't helping, making me horny.
"Just a little..." He leaned in to unbuckle my seatbelt and placed his free hand on my thigh, sending shivers down my entire body.
"I know what you're trying to do... and the answer is no."
My words probably didn't sound convincing because his lips were almost touching mine. "Nathan... no."
He slid his hand along the inside of my thigh, moving upward with a mischievous smile. His lips covered mine, and his fingers reached the fabric of my panties, pushing them aside. Just one finger grazed my sex so slowly that it was torturous.
"No what?" His eyes were fixed on mine. "I just want to help you relax."
We were still in the car, and his parents were away for now. The thought made me give in. His wet and hungry lips were on mine. His mouth was enough to drive me crazy and make me completely wet. His fingers entangled in the fabric of my panties, pulling them down.
I heard a knock on the car window and nearly had a heart attack from the fright. Shit. I heard Stephan's voice calling. I tried to remove Nathan's hand from between my legs, but he held onto the fabric of my panties.
Only one of his hands had come out from under my dress. I tried to pull it away again when he turned to open the window, but he held on tightly. I couldn't do it, and I widened my eyes when I saw him opening the window for Stephan, panicking.
"We're on our way," he said, opening it just a little and then closing it again.
I heard Stephan laughing and then walking back towards the house's door. Nathan stared at me again.
"Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost," he teased.
"Can you let go of my panties?"
"Where were we?"
"Stephan now has reasons to bother us all night long. Isn't it enough?"
"I don't care," he said before leaning in again and slipping his other hand under my dress. I tried to stop him, but it was futile.
"Nathan, no. Your parents already know we're out here."
"So what?"
"They already know, but they don't need to know I'm your new..."
"Girlfriend. Say it. You won't die."
"That. I don't want them wondering why we're out here."
"Fine." He forced a smile, then leaned down, and his hands slid along the fabric of my panties.
"What the hell?" He slid the fabric down my legs, removing it. I tried to stop him, but it was too late. "What are you thinking?"
"Making this dinner more interesting," he said, trying to contain a smile.
"Nathan, please give me back."
He shook his head before putting the panties in his pocket.
"Let's go. You don't want to keep my parents waiting."
"Nathan! You son of a..."
Damn it! He opened the door and got out of the car. I did the same.
"Nathan..." I growled through clenched teeth, trying not to shout, afraid they might hear us.
"Let's go." He started walking toward the entrance. I followed.
"Do you think I will feel more comfortable this way? Whatever you're thinking... don't think."
He sighed and stopped.
"I just want to have easier access, baby," he said, sliding his thumb across my lip.
"Are you trying to drive me crazy? Isn't it enough with all this family stuff?"
"I thought you liked them."
"The problem isn't them. It's us."
"Come on," he said, holding my hand.
"I'm going to kill you."
The door was open, and Nathan entered the huge living room, holding my hand.
I had forgotten how huge his family's house was. Everything was so luxurious that I was afraid I would break something.
"Are you ready?" He looked at me, trying to decipher my state.
Damn it. I shouldn't have been so worried about what they would think about me. I love him. That's all that matters. I took a deep breath.
"We'd better go before I change my mind and run away."
"You can handle it. You're a bitch."
"Hey!" I protested.
He smiled before crossing the immense room, still holding my hand. We passed through the dining room, where the table was already set.
We entered the kitchen. My heart was almost bursting. Then I realized I was squeezing his hand with all my strength when he raised his eyebrows at me.
"Relax."
Mrs. Ryan was talking to another woman; I think she was her head chef. I had caught a glimpse of her last time I was here.
"Mom?" Nathan called, and my body froze when she turned.
"Nat, my angel!" She smiled widely and only then noticed my presence. "Katherine?" The surprise was evident in her tone of voice and expression.
"Mrs. Ryan!" I forced a smile, tense. Shit. Maybe she was still processing. Nathan was still holding my hand, which would save us some explanations.
"Just Loren, please." She approached, still smiling.
Nathan embraced her. I had never wanted to disappear so much.
"How are you, my love?"
"I'm fine, Mom. How are things around here?"
"A little hectic with the preparations for the end of the year, but we'll sort everything out today."
That was all I could hear, and then I had the impression they whispered a few words.
Nathan let go of her and went towards the lady who was cooking. Why did he leave me alone? Mrs. Ryan approached and held my hands.
"We were so happy and surprised when Nathan said he was bringing his girlfriend. Girlfriend, that's what he said. I couldn't believe it when he used that word. Rob and I thought he was so lonely, and work was consuming our son, so young. We were very, very eager to meet this girl, and knowing it's you, my dear, makes me so happy and relieved."
I was still processing her words. Was she happy?
"Sorry, we didn't tell you earlier; we were still trying... um... well... to understand ourselves."
"Don't worry, Kate, I know what this must mean to my son, and if he's happy, that's what matters to us. My God! Rob won't believe it! And I'm going to kill Stephan for not telling me. But anyway, how are you, dear?"
"I'm fine, thank you."
"Well, I thought you guys would take longer outside," Stephan said, coming up behind me.
Damn it, how could he just say that kind of thing in front of his mother?
"My angel, keep Kate company while I go get your father, and also Ellie and her boyfriend."
"What did you say?" Nathan approached.
Stephan rested his arm on my shoulders with a smile. "This is going to be fun. Just watch." He winked at me.
We already know which brother has all the charisma.
"Oh yes! We didn't have time to tell you. Ellie is dating a boy from her school," Mrs. Ryan declared.
"What? She's only seventeen!" Nat's expression turned serious.
"Come on, Nat? At that age, you did much worse," Stephan retorted.
"Shut up," he said, ignoring Stephan.
Was he really playing the jealous brother?
"We already allowed it, Nathan. Treat the boy well," his mother said authoritatively.
I held back my laughter.
"That's until I talk with my father."
"I am the law here, Nathan Ryan. Don't you dare try to go against me."
"She's just a child, Mom!"
"She's already a young lady, and this matter is closed. I'll call them for dinner, and you two better go to your places," Mrs. Ryan said before leaving us.
"Don't you think you should have told me this, Stephan?" Nathan seemed incredulous and annoyed.
"Don't be a killjoy, Nat; they're just teenagers."
"And do you remember what you wanted at that age?" Nathan questioned.
Stephan narrowed his eyes, pondering.
"Well... maybe you're a bit right. I'll keep an eye on the boy."
"Men," I said, rolling my eyes and huffing. "Your sister is no longer a child, Nat; she's almost a woman."
"Don't talk nonsense, Collins."
"Well, she's only five years younger than me."
"Yeah, and you're not very experienced."
"Asshole!"
"I can't even imagine how much you must be regretting letting him deflower you now," Stephan said, laughing.
Deflower? What does he mean?
"What?" I stared at Stephan, and he removed his arm from my shoulder.
"Oops," he said, raising an eyebrow, then turned around. "I'm famished. I better find my seat."
He didn't... He told? I don't believe it. I'm going to kill him. I leveled a menacing gaze at Nathan.
"You're such an idiot," Nathan growled at his brother.
"He's an idiot? Seriously? I can't believe it. You told him I was a virgin?"
"I'm sorry?"
"You're such a jerk."
"You also told your annoying friend about us."
"That's completely different. Why the hell did you tell him? Was it some kind of trophy?"
"No, he's my brother; maybe we were just talking. I'm sorry."
"Idiot!"
I'm so angry. Nothing could be as embarrassing as Stephan knowing that.
