Chapter 196: A New Side Revealed

NATHAN

I slid my hand along the curve of her hip, moving up to her ribs as I buried my face in her neck, smelling her delicious scent.

She mumbled sleepily. I rubbed up against her, unable to resist her tempting ass. I felt all my blood go straight to my cock as I rubbed my nose against her neck.

"Good morning," I whispered as she stirred.

"Hmm..." She murmured, turning her face into the pillow.

It seemed like one night of sleep wasn't enough to recover from the journey we had taken the night before. It was still early, and I could let her sleep a little longer, but I was eager to follow the plan I had made to make the most of our first day in the countryside.

"I brought breakfast," I whispered, slipping my hand under the fabric of her nightgown and feeling the soft skin of her belly.

"Thank you," she mumbled, lifting her face from the pillow. "That's very kind..." She yawned. "But isn't it too early, love?"

"Are you too tired?"

"A little. But it seems like you're not, as usual," she said, turning to look at me. "Infinite energy." She lazily smiled, rubbing her ass against my semi-erect cock.

"You should stop if you're exhausted."

"Have you already showered? What time did you wake up?" She asked, turning her body to face me and running her fingers through my still slightly damp hair.

"An hour ago. I wanted to bring you breakfast."

"It seems like you're turning into the chocolate-and-flowers type after all," she said, smiling.

"The goal is to please." I gripped her thigh, pivoting our bodies and ending up on top with my hips between her legs. "Even though I know you prefer a different kind of romance."

"And who's to blame for that?" She asked, her hands sliding up my arms.

"I couldn't be prouder of it."

"For turning me into a sex maniac?" She wrinkled her nose.

"Yes, and only mine." I buried my face in her neck, trying to resist the temptation to move my hips, but I couldn't.

"If we keep this up, I'm not sure if I'll survive this honeymoon," she said, making me stop and look at her.

"We didn't do it last night. I promised to let you rest, and I kept my promise."

"So, is this how our life is going to be when you retire? It seems like work is the only thing that keeps you from being inside me," she laughed.

"Continue. You're almost convincing me to retire early."

She pushed my chest, making me lie down beside her, then rested her head on my chest. She stayed silent for a few seconds, and I could almost hear her brain working.
"Tell me what you're thinking." I stroked her hair.

"Aren't you afraid of an accident happening again?"

She was talking about what happened during her trip to Vancouver. As if what that son of a bitch had tried to do wasn't horrible enough, she had also lost the baby, which we had no idea existed.

That could have changed our lives if it had happened differently. I used to avoid thinking about it, so as not to torment myself by blaming myself for leaving her alone, so I didn't used to think about what it would have been like if we'd had a child. But I was sure we weren't prepared.

"We take precautions," I said at last, trying to reassure her.

"But there's always a risk. Have you thought about what you would do? What would it be like?"

"Don't think about it. Just remember that I'll always be here."

"I know that."

"And if you're trying to use that to keep me away, know that it won't work," I said, getting up and trying to dispel the heavy energy that was settling in. "I would fill you with children if there was no way of having you without avoiding them."

"That's so sexist!" she said, trying to sound indignant, while I picked up the tray I had brought with her breakfast.

"We'd be full of them by now, and you'd spend your entire life pregnant," I said, returning to the bed and placing the tray on it.

"It seems like you're trying to scare me now, and believe me, that's not good for you." She sat up in bed.

"Eat, I want to show you the property later."

"Yes, I almost forgot. I'm looking forward to seeing everything." She stared at the tray. "Hmm, suddenly, I'm famished."

"I always am," I said, watching her.

She stared back at me and shook her head, biting her lip as if to tell me not to say that. But I couldn't help it.

KATE

Nathan had planned to spend the last week of our honeymoon in a charming countryside cottage in France. And I couldn't be more enchanted, not just by the property, but by all the care he was taking.

We arrived at the location the night before, but I could only truly see the beauty of the place in the morning after being treated to a wonderful breakfast in bed. The house was surrounded by green fields, trees, and a lake at the back.

I was sure we would find a good use for every area of the property in the coming days, but Nathan had already planned something for our first day in the French countryside: a tour of a vineyard, followed by a wine tasting at a charming winery, and then lunch.

I had to admit that I was impressed by the effort he was putting in as if he needed to impress me. It was strangely romantic of him. But it wasn't as if he didn't already have me in his hands.

We had a simply fantastic morning, with a guided tour of the vineyards and then the interior of the winery. During the tour, Nathan took advantage of the dark environment of the cave where the wine barrels were stored to try to feel me up.

I think the wine tasting got him more 'excited' than usual if that was even possible. I laughed as I tried to keep his hands in safe places on my body.

The winery was charming and delightful, but I could hardly take my eyes off Nathan the entire morning. He looked simply handsome, with a relaxed air about him. The white shirt with the top buttons undone and his naturally tousled hair made him even sexier in a natural way.

We were leaving the cave with the small group on the tour when he pulled me to the end of one of the corridors, pressing me against the brick wall.

"What are you doing?" I whispered.

Ignoring me, he pressed his lips to mine, his hands around my waist pulling me toward his body.

His tongue slid between my lips, seeking mine hungrily as his lips guided mine, and he ground his hips against me. It wasn't a romantic or gentle kiss; it was wild and filled with urgency, leaving me breathless when he pulled away.

He almost made my reason disappear and made me wish to just go home and explore every corner of that property, naked. But the reality of the situation kept me rational.

"Are you crazy? We can't stay here."

"How about we skip lunch?" he said with a mischievous smile.

"You know what? No more wine for you..." I tried to stifle a laugh. "Now, let's get out of here before we get caught or something worse."

We sneaked out of the cave to avoid being seen. The sun was shining brightly outside as we headed to the winery's restaurant. Suddenly, I thought I heard a child's soft cry.

I stopped walking, realizing that Nathan was no longer by my side. I turned to see him heading in the direction of the cry.

I followed him, spotting a little blond boy a bit further ahead, near a tree. What was he doing there alone?

Nathan approached the boy carefully, crouching down to speak with him in French. I stayed a bit behind, feeling my heart tighten as I saw the little boy crying. He couldn't have been more than four years old.

Gradually, Nathan seemed to gain the boy's trust, and I was completely surprised when the boy came closer, allowing Nathan to pick him up.

Something inside of me stirred and warmed. I had never seen him deal with a child, and I had no idea he could do it.

I stood there, astonished, as he approached me with the little boy in his arms. It was almost as if... No. I shook my head. Don't even think about it.

But there was something about the scene, and the protective and gentle way Nathan handled the little boy, that stirred something inside me.

"What's going on?" I asked, starting to walk beside him when he caught up with me.

"It seems like he got separated from his parents, but we'll find them," he said, then smiled at the little boy.

"How can someone lose a child like this?"

"Don't judge the parents; it can be quite challenging to keep up with a child at that age."

"What? How do you know that? And how do you know how to deal with a child?"

"I have younger siblings," he shrugged.

It wasn't hard to find the boy's parents; as soon as we entered the restaurant, they spotted us and approached, their expressions of concern turning into relief. The woman, who must have been the mother, already had teary eyes.

Nathan spoke to them as I watched. They seemed very grateful. The little boy said goodbye to Nathan with a shy smile, and then they did a fist bump. Once again, I was amazed, watching the scene.

Then we took a table. While we had lunch, I couldn't stop thinking about how Nathan had acted with the boy. It seemed there were still some things I didn't know about my husband. He always found a new way to surprise me.
