CHAPTER 27: THE HARVEST

The next day she woke up energetically as it was a big day for her. After cleaning up she went to the living room and took a look at the monitor. She checked the plot of land where the healing fruit was planted.

Seeing the place blank Juan knew that Gem already harvested the fruits and she was so excited she called out for Gem immediately.

It didn’t take long before Gem showed up in front of her and she wore a smile on her tiny face, “good morning, Master.”

“Good morning to you too Gem. There is so much to talk about but right now, I want to know if there is anything I should mind before I take the first fruit?”

Gem was happy seeing that Juan was relying on her and seeking her opinion. As a dedicated steward and manager, she had done her best to research everything about Juanita, and that included the fruits she had harvested while Juanita was sleeping.

As a steward, Gem was now connected to the farm system so whatever was in the farm, especially information, Gem had access to it. As for the other things, she was still in the process of finding it out.

“I have been looking into that for the past few days and I found something useful. You need to take a total of three fruits for this type of fruit to be fully healed. The first fruit will heal all your internal injuries, cleanse and detoxify your system. So, the scars won’t be fully gone but the root of the problem will be solved.

The second fruit should be taken after one month and this time, you will go under
a great change. Your whole outlook or your old skin will be removed and replaced by a new one. As for the last fruits, it can be taken after a week or any other time and its purpose is to cement the healing but you cannot take it if you don’t want,” Gem explained fully not missing a single word.

Juanita didn’t know most of these details so she was happy learning more before she takes her first fruit.

“Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it,” Juanita was very grateful for that.

“Oh, another thing, you might need to stay inside the farm for a while as the process may be a bit painful than anything you ever felt before,” Gem threw some genuine advice.

Juan was taken aback after hearing that but considering the fact, her system will be cleansed and all that she didn’t understand, Juan decided to take the advice and did what Gem asked of her.

Juan prepared some food for herself and gave some to Gem since eating by herself was a bit boring. At least Gem could eat human food despite being a fairy. She thought that the other will live on flowers or plants but the little thing also loves eating meat like crazy.

After having her breakfast, she cleaned up and took some time to digest her food as she didn’t want to rush into doing things.

Juan was a bit scared, to be honest, this was a life-changing moment and now that she was about to take this huge step she had been dying to take for years, she was having cold feet.

She went out of the farm and appeared in her apartment once more. She picked up her phone and looked at her phone book for a very long time. She wanted to talk to her parents but she also didn’t want to make them worry at the same time.

After contemplating for more than twenty minutes, Juanita in the end still called them, and hearing her mother’s excited voice, she knew that she made the right choice.

“Darling, how are you doing over there?”

Juanita smiled as she heard that familiar tone of concern and worry her mother always showed all the time for her. It may sound annoying to others but to her, it was a blessing.

Remembering all the times she wanted to just end it all but when recalling her parents’ voices, Juanita always held back, and now she was happy that she didn’t go-ahead to do that.

If she had taken her own life back then, would she be like this right now? She would have been remembered as that girl with burnt scars and nothing worthy at all but now an opportunity to be someone better had come for her.

“I am doing okay mother, I just wanted to tell you guys that I have found a way to get healed,” she spoke enthusiastically as she tried her best to stop herself from crying.

Pearle who had just heard this from Juanita, thought that Juan was pulling her legs so to confirm whether she had heard correctly she asked Juan to be sure, “darling, are you kidding me?”

Juan smiled knowing that it was a bit hard for her parents to understand what she was going through right now, “mom, my farm upgraded and I managed to plant a fruit that can heal me. I will be taking it after I finish the call with you and I just wanted you to know that there may be changes when you see me next time.”

Pearle on the other side was crying silently. Her phone was on speakerphone and Randall was also crying silently on the side. They have waited for this good news for years and now that they were finally hearing it, they didn’t know how to respond but only cry.

“Darling…..will you be okay?” Pearle sniffed as she asked, she was anxious and unsure of everything.

After all, this farm just came from nowhere and this was something she had never heard of.

“It won’t harm me, trust me on that mom. If you don’t hear from me for a couple of days, don’t worry. When everything is done, I will give you a phone call.”

Juanita comforted her mother for ten more minutes before flashing back into the villa. She went outside the villa and sat cross-legged on the green grass. She held the red small fruit the size of a plum in her hand.

She took deep breaths for a while before taking a huge bite. After chewing the fruit, her eyes lit up as the fruit was insanely delicious. So, she got encouraged and ate the fruit with vigor and within a short moment, the fruit was gone.

She didn’t know how this was going to work as she patiently waited for something to happen. There was no news for an hour and as she was about to give up, it came to her and she regretted underestimating the unknown.
