CHAPTER 79: WE ARE FAMILY

The birthday banquet was way over the top but the Popes weren’t people who liked being a low profile. On this beautiful day, Julian proudly announced to everyone present that Juan was his beloved fiancée and the love of his love.


Since it was official, there was no need for those scheming ladies to try something as they saw with their own eyes how deep Juan rooted herself in the Popes’ hearts and if anyone wanted to challenge that, it was going to take a miracle.

To bootlick the daughter in law of the Popes’, these people brought a lot of expensive and beautiful gifts. Since they brought it, Juan accepted everything. It was up to her whether she accepts their wooing or not.

The birthday banquet lasted for four straight hours and it was just suffocating. When everyone left, Juan was just so tired she threw herself on Julian’s bed as she needed some rest.

Julian came to her and gave her feet some massage before showering her with lingering kisses all over her face. Juan’s spirit was lifted once more and the two left the room to join the adults who were talking in the living room.

This was the first time or not the first time her parents and Julian’s parents meet, seeing how they were like best friends and getting along together. Juan found out after a while that her parents had been in Zlila for three days already and they already met.

Seeing the confidence in her parents’ eyes, Juan was at ease as she didn’t want them to feel inferior because Julian’s parents were wealthier than hers. Juan received her beloved’s gifts and she was over the moon.

The thought of rich people was simply different and Juan at this time was used to their extravagant way of doing things. After chatting until midnight, the family finally retired to bed, and just like what they promised each other, there was one hell of a fierce battle inside Julian’s bedroom and it lasted until the wee hours of the morning.

Because the battle was long and intense the young couple were nowhere to be found at the dining table and the elders simply smiled at each other. They had eaten more salt than the youngsters so they knew what might have transpired.

“At this rate, do you think we will be getting a grandchild soon?” Eve joked as they ate their food.

“How I wish that could be done? I have been dying to hold one for a very long time!” Pearle sighed as she thought of her daughter.

Was there even a possibility of that happening any time soon?

The family laughed and the atmosphere was beautiful since they already talked about children, they ended up talking about the wedding dates. It was very harmonious between all of them.

Juan took her parents to her villa and her parents were happy for her. seeing their daughter being treated nicely by others made their worries lessen. Their daughter was doomed to be in another person’s family so seeing with their own eyes how she was treated by them, what more could they ask for?

Juan and Julian entertained the Keogh couple and showed them around. Eve also took Pearle everywhere and the short vacation of two weeks was quickly spent and memories were made that they could remember for eternity.

Finally, they bided them goodbye as it was time to go back and man the restaurant. Her parents will be leaving in six weeks so there was still time for her to see them.

When the couple arrived at their home, they had smiles on their faces and when they saw the table full of piping hot food, they knew that their daughter had been there and that feeling reduced that lonely feeling that was creeping up into their hearts.

“Our baby is all grown up now!” Pearle sighed as she sat at the table admiring the food at the table.

“Umm, we have done our best and I am proud of everything that we have done. It wasn’t easy for us but we kept on hanging there. There are not many children there who still love their parents as Juan does especially after everything that happened to her,” Randall spoke sadly as his arms wrapped around his wife.

Pearle smiled as he looked at the man who stood by her side even when the world was pitting against her. she wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him, so she was very grateful for everything, “we are very lucky and blessed.”

“Indeed, we are.”

The couple kissed each other and enjoyed the food that their daughter painstakingly made for them.

Soon a week passed and Juan was having a time of herself as she was busy chatting with her fans on her Livestream. Julian was not home as he was busy with his company, the young man had opened it some time back and the business was thriving.

So, he wasn’t at home, leaving Juan home to her own devices, and instead of getting bored alone, she decided to have a chat with her fans. The topic of the day was how blessed she was and how one should embrace and be thankful for all the blessings that they have as many are not that lucky.

“I was born when my parents were a bit old, everyone thought that they will never have a child so my parents suffered a lot of criticism but their love kept them together. They never gave up on each other and kept on having that faith that one day it was going to be okay.”

“Surely, one day they had me and I became a blessing in their life. My parents weren’t rich but they raised me beautifully, spoiled me, and gave me everything I asked. But in life there will always be that time when you are tempted, that fire happened and I became someone unrecognizable and the mocking began again.”
