CHAPTER 31: UNEXPECTED CALL

The next day, Juanita went shopping, bought a new laptop as she had sold the old one back in Snow City. She also bought a printer as the little thing can be helpful. Even after buying a farm, Juanita still had some cash on her so she wasn’t worried about going broke.

Juanita also went to certify her documents at the police station as she was not in the mood of paying the commissioner of oaths agents out there and besides by going to the police station, she didn’t incur a single cost.

Juanita returned home and printed all the documents needed. It might look a bit easier for her to do the whole process by herself as she was once an accountant but she also knows that receiving help was also good.

So, the next day she went to a consultant firm she saw online while looking into all these things and left everything to them. Because consultancy firms had connections, the processes were usually faster than when an individual was doing the job.

The fees needed weren’t much, so Juanita paid happily and left the firm after an hour or so for some shopping. Everywhere she went, eyes were on her and Juanita didn’t blame these people, after all, she was now a beauty.

She even shocked herself when looking in the mirror so she understood those people who were looking at her feet whenever they see her.

Juanita wanted to go back home to see her parents but she decided to do that after she was done registering her company and settling everything in order.
After her shopping, she returned to her apartment and updated her Mystic account. She canceled the tomatoes she had been selling and left only the rice. She also increased the packaging from 2kg to 20kg and set the auction to once a week and only five bags will be sold.

She didn’t want to pressure herself into planting more rice for sale, she also wanted to make more money on her produce, become a first-generation rich lady and make her family live in riches for the rest of their lives.

She also wanted to spend some time dating and not working and that can be done when she didn’t have much to do and have less work on her hands.

The second online store she named Haven, the same name as her brand name and on this store, she was going to sell a variety of products and selling them at normal prices than what she does on Mystic.

After settling the online store business, she didn’t open Haven to the public yet as she was waiting for the company to be approved first as well as the brand name, so she began to look for companies where she could buy some nice packaging bags as well as print and put her label on.

She was so entranced with her work that when her phone rang, she didn’t get who was calling her. Her parents weren’t the type to call daily and after her relationship with Irene came to an end, she didn’t have anyone who can call her.

This was also the reason why she didn’t upgrade her phone until now. She was just too lazy to waste money on it. It wasn’t good to ignore calls so she stood up and went to where her phone was charging.

When she saw the name on the screen, she couldn’t believe it. She thought that the other had forgotten all about her and she won’t find her but who knew that Eve had her in mind until now.

It’s been a long time since they saw each other so she still picked up the call and became polite as she could when she was talking to her. After the call ended, Juan felt better knowing that she had just gone shopping and she had some proper clothes to wear.

Eve had invited her to come to her place for dinner. In Eve’s words, she had told her that since she had saved her, Juan should at least accept the dinner as a token of her appreciation and Eve simply missed her and wanted to see her.

Juan couldn’t say no to Eve so she agreed and this is how Juan who was planning on cooking a duck later for herself found herself taking another shower to prepare to go to Eve’s place.

Juan changed into the blue dress she bought recently, the black heels that weren’t expensive but looked good on her, and some studs to make herself beautiful.

Without a single scar on her body, Juan was more confident than before. She couldn’t go without a gift so she brought a box of apples with her as these apples were good for a woman’s beauty too.

Juan drove her cheap car to the address she was given by Eve, and after thirty minutes Juan was driving through the gates of a beautiful mansion. The place was heavenly and it made Juan who had seen these kinds of houses in movies be motivated.

She was no longer envious of anyone, Juan now believed that as long as she works hard, perseveres in everything that she does, she will have everything that she wants in life.

When she stopped her car in front of the beautiful mansions, she was relieved to see a smiling Eve who was waiting for her. The butler looked warm and polite and she kindly passed her car keys to him.

She carried the box of apples out of the car but a maid took them off her hands while an enthusiastic Eve grabbed her inside the mansion. Juan looked around and genuinely complimented about the beauty of the house and Eve was over the moon seeing how much Juan liked the place.

In Eve’s head, she was so happy seeing that she will be able to kidnap Juan and live with her here. To be honest, she didn’t want to live apart from her youngest son, she wasn’t that controlling but she was a bit lonely without him at all as all children lived outside.

“Thank you for having me here,” Juan said as a maid gave her a glass of juice.

“I should be the one saying that after all, I called you unexpectedly.”

“It’s okay, I didn’t have much to do anyway,” Juan shrugged it off.

“So, tell me, what have you been up to recently?” Eve asked enthusiastically and Juan answered the woman.

Because she didn’t have anyone to talk to, Juan poured her heart out to Eve and told her about her farm and how the apples she brought were from there and so on. Eve’s impression of Juan even improved as she loved ladies who were ambitious and self-driven like Juan.
