CHAPTER 64: SURPRISE

The parents looked at their daughter and felt that their hard work was worth it.

“Darling, we just opened the restaurant and if we go traveling now, won’t that affect the business?” Pearle was a bit worried but happy at the same time being on the receiving end of Juan’s care and concern.

“Mom, you can both leave that to someone else and I can find someone to manage the place. You only need to go and travel the world and make up for the time you couldn’t because you had to care for me. How about you do it for me?” Juan pouted as she looked at her parents with a pitiful expression.

Randall held his wife’s hands and nodded his head; it had not been easy for the two of them all these years. They didn’t have a lot of money and they lived for years saving money and barely using it.

It was by grace that they managed to buy the house and when they thought that their life will be better after Juan went to university, the fire happened and more expenses were incurred.

Juan getting healed and receiving that farm was the greatest thing that happened to the couple but their desire to work never stopped as they felt that they should start saving for her dowry.

But now Juan was telling them to go on a vacation, they were the type of parents who didn’t want to see their child sad so in the end, they will always agree with her.

“If you say so then we will do as you said but it needs to wait until it is Autumn.
We don’t want to travel when it is raining,” Pearle decided to compromise since taking a vacation wasn’t bad after all.

Juan was elated to hear that; she was afraid that her parents will keep on rejecting her. it was time for them to take a rest and have some fun.

The night quickly passed and the next day came. The family was planning not to open the restaurant as they wanted to spend more time with each other. As Pearle was busy preparing breakfast, there was a knock on the door.

Juan told her parents that she was going to open the door and they let her be. When she opened the door to see which neighbor had graced them with his or her visit, she was shocked instantly.

“You……what are you doing here?” Juan tried her best to stop herself from screaming as she looked shockingly at Julian who was holding a suitcase in his hand.

Julian was happy to see this surprise expression on his girlfriend's face. It took him a lot of time and compromises to let his family agree for him to go and give Juan a visit. It was worth it seeing that she was happy to see him.

“I missed you, so here I am,” he told her straight and didn’t shy away from the question.

Juan smiled at Julian and hugged the young man; she was so happy she didn’t know what to do.

“Since you are here, then come inside,” Juan settled herself and opened the door wide for him.

“Darling, what is taking you long there?” Pearle called out as she was wondering why Juanita was taking long at the door and not coming back.

“I have a visitor mom!” she called back.

Pearle who knew that her daughter didn’t have any friends in Sparrow was a bit curious to see who this visitor of Juan was, so she wiped her hands and came to the living room.

When she saw the young man in her living room, she raised her eyebrows with suspicion. She didn’t speak a word but scrutinized the young man who was looking at her daughter with passionate eyes.

Could this young man be the boyfriend her daughter talked to her about?

Juan saw that the atmosphere in the house wasn’t right so she cleared her throat and made the introduction.

“Mom, this is Julian, my boyfriend. And Julian this is my mom,” Juan introduced the two with a happy smile on her face.

Since Juan had said it already, even if Pearle wanted to object, she was forced to smile at the young man and shake hands with him. It wasn’t easy for her daughter to open her heart and start dating again.

So, she wanted to make sure that this young man wasn’t taking advantage of her and was serious about her. she had seen her daughter being eaten by a heartbreak before and she didn’t want to see it again.

“It’s my pleasure to meet you, auntie,” Julian spoke warmly but his voice was filled with respect and Pearle warmed up to him seeing that he had some
manners.

Randall who heard a male voice in his house, left the bedroom to come and check this visitor and with one glance he had his suspicion and after Pearle’s introduction, he now knew his son-in-law.

Juan joined her mother in the kitchen and left Julian with her father. She knew what was going to happen there but Julian deserved a grinding, he had stolen someone else’s daughter after all.

“I am not someone who will interfere with my child’s choices but I am entitled to check if you are suitable for her. so young man, tell me about yourself and don’t leave a thing,” Randall seriously ordered as he looked at Julian who wasn’t showing any signs of cowering.

Juan who had good hearing could hear the battle in the living room and the best thing she could do was delay her mother until it calmed down. By the time the two joined the men, they were all smiling and became buddies.

Pearle after talking to Julian also liked the young man and he was assigned a guestroom where he will be staying on his visit. Julian also brought gifts and his mother especially began to treat him like a son.

They also understood that Julian was brought up in a rich family so seeing him being comfortable in their home like this made them look at him with agreeable eyes.

At least the young man and his family didn’t look down on their family and Julian was serious about their daughter. All their worries were washed away with this, so they opened their hearts to Julian.
