Chapter 15

Xavier's Pov:
This place was hell for me. I would have gone crazy if I stayed with Lsabella and put up with Jasper's insults to her.
I was walking down the path in the garden in a rage, not noticing the man coming around the corner. I ran right into him, I was fine, but Elder Charles stumbled a few steps straight backward and was about to fall over.
I rushed forward to help him.
"Are you okay, I'm so sorry, I didn't notice you coming over."
"Hahaha, it's okay, I'm really old." Elder Charles looked at me thoughtfully for a moment, "Are you in such a hurry, is there something wrong with you?"
"No."
"Then how about taking a walk with me?"
I nodded obediently, "Yes."
Elder Charles and I walked together on the stone path of the garden.
"Blood Moon Pack is a small colony, I believe."
"Yes."
"But it was big ten years ago...have you heard the legend of the Moonstone?"
I was shocked, did an outsider really know about this matter?
"What moonstone? Is it a gemstone?"
"Nothing...but it's really a bit of a waste of talent for you to serve as Beta in such a small group."
Elder Charles had something in his words, and I even suspected that we didn't even meet by chance this time.
"But it's also not appropriate for me to serve as Beta under Jasper, after all, Jasper is not satisfied with me."
Elder Charles paused, he stood there looking at me, and I stopped to look at him.
"Young people can not be too eager, want to serve as Alpha also have to start from Beta familiar with affairs, after all, our community's situation such a special."
I looked at him in surprise, thinking that I had misunderstood the meaning. elder Charles gave me an obscure smile.
He had such a mind to come and give me a hint after only meeting me a few times, it seems that there is quite a big conflict between him and Jasper.
I showed a long-awaited smile: "Thank you for the guidance, Elder, I will think about it."
Lsabella's pov :
Jasper was waiting for me at the lake.
I noticed Olivia was also not far away.
I propped up my palms to set up a small tent in front of me and looked out over the shimmering lake, the view was nice, the people were a bit of a bummer.
"Are you so idle?" I walked towards Jasper head-on, I was done trying to act: "It's not like there's a Xavier here, we don't have to act all intimate."
Jasper gave me a blank look as he shoved a bouquet of flowers into my arms.
It was daisies and wild eustoma.
"You seem to like these flowers."
Do I like them? I remembered that I had another bunch on my windowsill, which Jasper had also given me.
"It's okay," I asked, coming up with what seemed to be the smell of early morning dew: "I don't hate it."
"That means you like it," he glanced at me, "Olivia knows a girl's heart, there's no mistaking what she said."
I subconsciously glanced at Olivia, who was not far away, and she noticed me too and smiled at me.
I didn't expect her to be such a nice character and smiled at her: "What did she tell you?"
"All girls like flowers, and so do female Alpha."
This kind of time still forgets to sneer at me, really is the Jasper I know.
But I stole a few more glances at Olivia, I thought she was strange, she obviously seemed to like Jasper a lot, but she didn't show any possessiveness towards him.
"What are you looking at?"
"Nothing."
"Are you still angry?"
"Angry? I'm not angry, huh?"
Jasper nodded thoughtfully.
"You think I'm..." just as I was about to ask him why he thought I was angry, Jasper suddenly took a small daisy from the bouquet I was holding and pinned it to the back of my head along with a few strands of hair in my ear.
He came closer and examined me: "Your red hair looks good with any flower."
His handsome face suddenly zoomed in front of me, and my breath almost stopped for a moment, his gray eyes were very transparent in the sunlight, like two beautiful gems.
Jasper blinked twice, then took a step closer and pressed his lips against mine.
My subconscious retreat was stopped by the force of his arm around my waist, our mate relationship came into play at this moment, I could smell his scent and my loose heart began to beat because of him.
I slowly gave up the struggle and handed the initiative to Jasper just as he tried to follow through further, I thought of Olivia not far away. I pushed Jasper away violently.
I rubbed my beating chest, I noticed Jasper looking in the opposite direction, and following his gaze, I saw Xavier standing a short distance away with my jacket.
So it was still to provoke Xavier? My heart slowly regained its peace.
Xavier had his head down, and I didn't have to look to know he was in a bad mood.
He came over and put on my clothes: "Miss, it's windy at the lake."
I didn't stop and watched him leave.
I don't know why I felt annoyed, perhaps because none of the scenes at hand was within my grasp.
I lifted the bouquet, hesitated, and then angrily dropped it on Jasper, who didn't reach for it and the bouquet just fell to the ground.
"You guessed wrong, I don't like daisies and eustoma."
I had no destination, just knew to stay away from these people, and I walked down the path by the lake until I reached the opposite side of the lake.
When I turned back again, Jasper was gone.
I sat down at the edge of the lake, my mind was stirred up, and staying next to Jasper took my breath away.
I picked up a rock and threw it into the lake, and with a "poof," it sank to the bottom.
"Nut, I need your help."
"Miss Lsabella?" A soft greeting suddenly came from behind me.
I turned my head to see Olivia standing behind me, without any attendants by her side.
Based on the experience I had summed up for myself before, I immediately got up and took a step backward: "Miss Olivia? Why don't you have a maid with you? It's windy by the lake, you'd better go back first."
"Miss Lsabella seems to be avoiding me?"
"Which is not the case."
I said this on the surface and secretly activated the mind link, "Xavier! Bring some random maids to the lake! As soon as possible!"
Xavier replied to me in a flash: "Yes!"
This put my mind at ease, and I looked at Olivia with a smile, "Miss Olivia is overly concerned, it wasn't Mr. Jasper's instructions, he asked me to stay away from you and not to hurt you."
"Did Jasper really say something like that? Then he is separating us sisters, Miss Lsabella is the only female Alpha in the East Continent, how could she hurt me with such a powerful status?"
"I don't know," I spread my hands very honestly and made a puzzled look, "I heard that Mr. Jasper and Miss Olivia grew up together, you should know her better."
"Do I know better?" Olivia thought of the devil to see the same, eyes unfocused, mumbled and repeated the words: "I know Jasper better? But...I don't think I know him at all."
She said she slowly turned in the direction of the lake.
I let out a shocked cry of dismay and then glanced across the lake to see Xavier already approaching with two maids.
"Miss Olivia! Do you see that's your maids of honor? They seem to have returned."
Olivia was so immersed in her own world that she didn't hear me at all. She took a few more steps towards the lake and was almost in the water.
I didn't dare pull her, but I couldn't watch her die, so I tugged at the lace of her skirt: "Miss Olivia? Come to your senses!"
Olivia, like a frightened beast, lunged forward, and with a "sting", I was left with only a piece of lace in my hand.
Olivia fell into the lake with a loud "poof".
Damn! She didn't look like she could swim at all, so I gritted my teeth and jumped into the water next, pulling Olivia out in two strokes.
I patted Olivia's face, but she was too weak to pass out from the cold water.
Xavier took off his clothes and wrapped them around me. I pushed him away and said through gritted teeth, "Go call a doctor, this woman is weak!"
Two maids were already crying around Olivia.
Distraught, I pulled one of them in, "Are you Olivia's maids?"
"I am, she is not."
"You know she is weak, why don't you follow her closely?"
The maid was terrified and spoke in a broken voice: "The lady told... told another maid to get the clothes, and told me to find bread to feed the fish, she... she promised me to stay away from the lake, but who knows... sob*."
I stood up and looked at Olivia, who looked so pale, did she really like Jasper and wanted to set me up?
