Chapter 16

Lsabella's pov :
I stood in the doorway of Olivia's room, where the doctor was examining her body.
The door creaked open and I greeted the doctor.
"How is she doing?"
"Miss Olivia is in shock and there is no way to wake up yet."
My heart sank. I had sent someone to notify Jasper when I brought Olivia back, and he should be able to come back in time if nothing else.
I called him back because he was the only one who could make any decisions while Olivia was sick, and no one but him would dare to vouch for Miss Olivia's life.
But Jasper would have gone crazy again, Xavier seemed to have never seen such a scene before, and I was a little worried that he would have a confrontation with Xavier.
Xavier wrapped a blanket around me: "Want to get some rest first?"
Although I don't think I've done anything wrong, I should have a better attitude on someone else's turf, after all, the tip of this knife is against my people's neck.
"No need," I looked downstairs from the window, no one came from the courtyard. "Get someone to ask how long it will take Jasper to get back."
Jasper finally made it back, and he came from the end of the hallway, his intimidating pressure spreading all the way. His eyes locked on me, revealing an aura of tyranny that anyone could sense.
Xavier shielded himself in front of me, and I patted him on the back, gesturing for him to move out of the way.
"But..."
I shook my head at him.
Xavier lowered his head, but he followed my orders.
Jasper rushed over and cupped my chin, forcing me to look him in the face, "Why does Olivia get hurt whenever she gets involved with you?"
"Hasn't it occurred to Mr. Jasper to ask Miss Olivia that question himself? After all, I'm not going to jump into the lake by myself."
Jasper was so angry with me to a certain extent that he laughed instead.
"If you hold back even a little, I will kill you and your Beta first, and then trample down your Blood Moon Pack!"
I'm used to hearing these threats, and I dislike him back very calmly: "Don't forget to refer to the testimonies of your maids."
Xavier's Pov:
Even if Lsabella wouldn't tell me what had happened recently, I was able to guess most of what was going on.
It turned out that I was in no position to think about whether I should stay away from Lsabella and make way for her happiness.
Because the question was not whether Lsabella could live without me, but whether I could not live without her.
The distance between her and me was already far, and it was Lsabella who reached out to me ten years ago so that I could stay by her side. Now she is getting farther and farther away from me because of the mate relationship, I don't have to fight for the chance to be with her, Beta, or brother, in any case, I have to stay by Lsabella's side, and what happens after that can only happen afterward.
I should have had a premonition of what exactly she is experiencing here every day, this Jasper is a complete lunatic, although he is keeping the same bloodline as me in his body.
Lsabella, as his MATE, did not offend him, and if Jasper was satisfied with this MATE, he would get along with her, and if not, he would simply dissolve the relationship, either way, without subjecting Lsabella to such harm.
And I just hid in my own tangle, ignoring the terrible situation she's in, my Alpha certainly wouldn't have asked me for help, she hid her difficult situation.
I was clearly the only one she could rely on.
I stood in front of Lsabella, and if Jasper dared to hurt her, I didn't mind going to war with him here.
But maybe I can stop Jasper, but I have no way to stop Lsabella.
She had been watching just now to see when Jasper would return.
I suppressed my discontent and obediently stood behind Lsabella.
The sourness in my heart began to rise again.
Lsabella's pov.
We waited at the door, and after a long time, Jasper sent someone to call us in, and Olivia woke up.
The soft woman lying on the bed was crying and crying, repeatedly saying "I'm sorry" and "I'm so sorry", but she wouldn't admit that she had jumped into the lake of her own free will.
I think Jasper will have at least some doubts in his heart, he can't be at this point still absolutely believe Olivia's words, but the part that baffles me is that Jasper's emotions will suddenly flare up in places I didn't expect, and the point of his discontent I've never been able to grasp clearly.
Jasper's eyes swept coldly over me, "You say you didn't threaten Olivia?"
I was fairly stable, stating the facts as calmly as I would at an Alpha meeting.
"No, instead I was trying to appease her, although I don't know what she was seeking death for."
Jasper sneered, "If that's really what you're saying, is that Olivia herself doesn't want to live?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Olivia's previously subtle whimpers suddenly increased a few notches.
"Don't be afraid," Jasper lowered his voice like a face turner and gently soothed Olivia: "Or you tell me, what did Lsabella do to you?"
"Yeah...I'm sorry."
Jasper and I sighed at the same time.
"What about the two maids? What did you see?"
The two shivering maids, kneeling on the floor, both looked up nervously when they heard Jasper's.
One of them opened up first: "Sir, at that time Olivia wanted the jacket and the bread for feeding the fish, we two maids were sent out. Mr. Xavier suddenly stopped us and asked us to hurry to Miss Olivia, when we arrived, we saw Miss Olivia walking towards the direction of the lake, Miss Lsabella tried to After Miss Olivia fell into the water, it was Miss Lsabella who rescued her."
"Oh? How did Xavier know about Olivia, was he there at the time?"
Jasper's bizarre focus choked me up, can I put the rest aside for a moment, I'm still exonerating myself.
"It was the mind link, my Alpha summoned me."
Xavier, who had been standing obediently behind me, took a step forward and I felt his hand gently squeeze my wrist, he was telling me he was here.
That's the good thing about having a Beta, you're never alone in facing your enemies.
Jasper suddenly popped up from his seat: "Mind link? What a great thing, I almost forgot that my dear brother is my MATE's Beta."
His voice was like a cold wind on a snowy mountain with a stinging cold temperature, I couldn't understand for a moment where her current discontent originated from, did it mean that his hostility towards Xavier was that great anymore?
"So the truth of the matter like this, it was Olivia herself who jumped, I didn't intimidate her or threaten her, I've even been careful to avoid her for a long time."
Jasper's eyes also became more and more gloomy as he waited for me to finish my sentence.
"As for Miss Olivia losing hope in life, it's up to Mr. Jasper to enlighten us, we're all outsiders."
"Outsiders?" He caught the unimportant word again, "You're all outsiders?"
Jasper walked quickly down the steps and he took my arm, pulling me past Xavier to him.
He took a death grip on my wrist with such force that I felt the pain: "How are you an outsider? You are clearly my MATE!"
He was humiliating me again in front of my Beta, and although I still couldn't discern his attitude, my attitude was that I was sick of putting up with it.
"You should know in your heart," I looked coldly into his mad eyes, "that little thing between us."
Killing intent flared up in front of me and behind me as I pushed Jasper and escaped from his grasp. I turned towards Xavier and shook my head, we would fight back, but definitely not now.
"If there's no doubt, we'll leave now."
I pulled Xavier on and headed in the direction of the door.
"Wait!"
I stopped in my tracks but didn't turn around.
Jasper's tired voice came from behind me, "There are other things to discuss, go to the conference room."
Jasper had been out for a long time today, and even after hearing the news that Olivia had fallen into a coma, he was late. I think that's what he wanted to talk about.
"The Purple Moon Pack in our Alpha Alliance has been attacked by rogues, and every wolf pack in the East Continent must send someone to contribute, who are you Blood Moon Pack going to send?"
A trace of displeasure flashed in my heart when I was being difficult at the meeting, why didn't I consider that we needed to send people from our Blood Moon Pack to support us afterward?
But I didn't show anything on my face: "Our Blood Moon Pack is far away, and we don't have many people left, so it's not cost-effective to transfer new fighters all the way here. Just let Xavier and I join the alliance army, so we can run to the battlefield."
"Okay." Jasper waved his hand at us, he would not give us a hard time in this kind of official business, I can't help but feel some emotions.
"It is decided, you have to be on standby, we will leave as soon as possible."
